      Prob the greatest balad of all time. Not many people 'get it', unless one has been there. Powerful. Credit where credit is due... This is a song, sung and played, from the soul. Thanks, and you nailed it man

      I'm actually excellent with words, and I strive for accuracy and avoid exaggerating. But this song is so good I don't want to try to describe the way it hits me. Memories of 1985 [when I discovered it] lying on the floor in the living room with the stereo loud enough to be heard in the next county. Loved your stories and playing 👍

    This song is so intense that it is the only song in my collection that brings me to internal emotional breakdown and I can’t figure out why…I’m not sure if it’s the memories that it draws on or some relationships of my past but I can listen to this over and over again and never get tired of hearing it, this could be my favorite of all time, thank you!

I am in awe. 63 year old here, played over 40 years, 7 inch disc, nothing more. But what fun. People adore you. As I adore you, and your talent. G - again -2, and then we talk. I need to meet you. Seattle much, it's time. Teach me. I got the ride dude.. No Problem. Bring the family, and let's fucking rock. The Scholz way. I can get him too, but hard at the time. If we all could live forever, we could create perfection of the mind. ( your new song ) Perfection of the mind. Out, for tonight Mad Man with a Pick, damn, you rock.

      What's even more amazing is that most of the guitar, bass, and keyboards were performed by Boston founder Tom Scholz himself, although other players were involved sporadically throughout the recordings. He and singer Brad Delp defined what the Boston sound was and still is to that day !

Now in retirement I've gotten back into my guitar, and trying to become that guitarist I'll never be. But I found this song on TH-cam, and have gotten completely hooked on it. to Tony Tupelo, since I cannot reply to his comment thanks to some GooTube bullshit programming:
    thanks! I get pretty close sometimes. I think I have a tendancy to
    drag a little bit. Maybe it's because I don't rehearse these but a
    couple times right after I learn them. I used to play in a rock band
    back around 1983/84 and I knew the songs like the back of my hand and
    could play them in my sleep left handed so these play-alongs are done
    mostly after I quickly learn them with hardly 2 run throughs. So there
    are some mistakes but for the time I invested, they are fun.

      @@TruthSurge I heard Boston from the very beginnings - I started college in '74. I'm been entranced by the guitar in this song ever since it came out. You did an awesome job with it. Do you have a Rockman to get the Boston sound?

    • @TruthSurge
      @TruthSurge  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@guyrouillier No, I used Guitar Rig 4 or 5. One of those and just rolled my own sound. I do that for all my guitar covers. I rarely use Peavey Revalver but on a few tunes. I also have this free plugin LePoulin that sounds pretty good. I never liked those portable Rockmans. I liked the clean but not the distorted sounds. Something just sounded wrong to me. Yeah me too truthsurge....the only song in my 62 years of life that revels what I feel. It puts me in another world. Love all of their songs....but this one captures me n the one next to it is undoubtably More Than A Feeling. Its of a certainty played from the heart.
    Many thanks to the band Boston.

    Holy crap, that sounded excellent! I put good headphones on to listen to it through my iPhone 6s, and you nailed it, bro! I love this solo, it's probably my favorite solo to play from the band, and I can play it exactly like on the album, so I really appreciated that you can also! BTW, nice guitar! I used to own that guitar! And I too used to play nothing but KISS back in the day! And regarding Tom's sound, I bought the Rockman when it came out, and I'm so glad you know about Ty Tabor! Dude, you're my new fav TH-cam guitarist! Right on, man!

    Very cool brother. I was in a couple of bands back in the late 70's and early eighties. We had rehearsal space at the Cambridge Music Complex. Several Boston based bands did too. The Cars and across from ours was Boston's. I got to meet the members of the Cars and sit in with them while rehearsing songs for Panorama. I was told that Boston hadn't been at their rehearsal space. It was at the time they where in a battle with the record company and had to reform under different names. I saw Boston at the Boston Gardens in 1979. Sammy Hagar was the opener.

    • @TruthSurge
      @TruthSurge  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've never been to Boston. I'm sure it's a cool place. Was Sammy HAgar solo then? I know he was with Ronnie Montrose at some point. Maybe by 79 he was solo. I guess he had to be. By what, 1985 he was with VH?

    • @Hiker63
      @Hiker63 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      TruthSurge Sammy was solo. He wore his signature red leather. You're probably right it was around 85.

    • @TruthSurge
      @TruthSurge  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ok.. I saw some vid on YT where he did bad motor scooter but it was w/o Ronnie. Maybe he was solo then. 79 I think it was. later!

    • @Hiker63
      @Hiker63 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      TruthSurge It was billed as Boston with special guest Sammy Hagar. I wish it was Montrose though. I just found it. It was November 6, 1978. The set list did include Bad Motor Scooter.

    • @TruthSurge
      @TruthSurge  8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Sammy was good on guitar, though. No slouch. But he had a good voice so that's mainly what his thing was. I had that Montrose album with bad motor scooter. It was cool

    I am 60 years old, UK based and have been fortunate in life to have seen many of the big name rock bands here and around the world, I can honestly say I have enjoyed your many videos on my iPad and headphones as much as any concert I have been to. Sing along and play along my rocking friend, I can’t help feeling but for circumstances in the ether of time past I would have attended many of your concerts and hailed you legend. Thank you.
