Hello, TruthSurge. I just discovered you yesterday (9-8-2019) and am blown away. I am a 58-year-old retired musician who can no longer sing or play due to complications from chemotherapy. It really does my heart good to see you--a man of my generation--who can still make the magic happen. Thank you for making me feel better about so many things. I feel sorry for those young people who cannot recognize the valuable knowledge and experience that we older guys have accumulated over the years. Now that I can no longer play, I have felt like I can no longer do my part to prove the value of us older folks to those who tend to write us off. You speak loudly for all of us. What a precious gem you are to the world. Thank you for doing what you do. ...and one last thing: You are truly an awesome player and singer for anyone of any age!
I’m 36 but I grew up listening to a lot of unorthodox music for my generation, patsy cline , fats domino , BB King , Hendrix , Boston , Kansas to Stevie Ray Vaughn . Mother was 46 when she had me and my father was 36 , everyone has the gift and it’s good to see this man showing what the lack of todays modern music lacks . So this 80’s hair and I just learned of called Blue Murders -song is Valley of the Kings . I wish the best to everyone and keep up the music
Very well said Chris. I'm turning 38 this year and had over five years of chemotherapy in the early 90s. They no longer use the chemo drugs that were used on me because they were far too toxic. I have a fair share or problems from all those years ago so I know where you are coming from! But just remember, if you miss doing something, the only thing that can stop you from trying to what you want, is you. Best of luck to you my friend. I hope you will try to pick up your instruments again. I would give anything to have the talent of wielding a guitar!!! Blessings to you.
@@ManicMechanic82 Thank you for the words of encouragement. Man, am I sorry you had to go through chemotherapy too. The chemo almost killed me. The cancer is not nearly as bad as the chemo, but you already know that. You are exactly right about not giving up. I do still pick up my guitar every day or two. I can still crank out a few chords, but I'm just a fraction of what I used to be. That's a painful realization every time I try to play, but I try to be thankful that I am a has been rather than a never was. It still hurts, though. I hope the aftermath from your chemo is not too bad. If you are not a player yet, it's never too late to start as long a you still have the ability to control your hands. In regard to that, I hope you are better off than I am. If so, go for it, my friend. It is one of the greatest gifts this life has to offer.
Thank you TruthSurge. I've seen Boston in concert, watched them here on TH-cam, and could never see what Tom Scholz is doing with his hands. You've helped me get more of a feel and understanding of the song, and your mistakes, you're the only one who knows they are there. I think they just add your flavor to the song. Thank you.
Best I've ever seen cover. Not many people can cover Boston to begin with, let alone get the tonality. Practically impossible but this guy did it!! My guitar hero for sure.Boston is one of a kind, they can't be replicated or covered easily, this guy did some serious work indeed!!
thank ye. Ya boi doin' WERK! hehehehe I flubbed some of the intro and part of the solo but it was cuz I was too eager to film and upload. I didn't rehearse hardly at all. It's all live so I just didn't rehearse enough to have it "DOWN" but I could have. I just do these covers for fun. Some are really good w/o any real mistakes. The one I did of The Journey/It's Easy is really good (imo).
Trust me, you did not flub a damn thing. Tom Scholz would be very proud of you, that I'm sure. You are a great guitarist my friend, keep on posting. We enjoys it always.
I was born in 68 and in the mid 70's I was just a kid riding up and down my sidewalk on my Big Wheel, but as I got older and started to listen to the music from the late 60's and into the 70's, the culture, basically when my parents were young adults and caught up in this era, I just started to fall in love with all of it. This song in particular has ALWAYS been a 70's anthem for me. Powerful, emotional and just fun. You fucking killed it man. I've listened to this song a hundred times if not more. I could absolutely not tell any difference between your cover and my in-depth memory of this song.
Boston....one of the first rock bands I remember as a kid and really liking them. Still amazed when I hear their vocals and unique sound. Awesome playing and thanks for brining up great memories.

Dang, boy. That’s some fine guitar playing! I’ve been listening to Boston since high school and I NEVER realized how much detail lay in this guitar part! The nuances and special effects are amazing! I’m a pianist and vocalist and, as a musician, I should have known there was so much more to this guitar part than I realized! The nuances and special effects were awesome. Thanks for taking me back to my “Glory Days” of high school. It did this heart good. You are living proof that you can never have too many guitars! God bless you, my friend.
What are you talking about? You nailed that. And the sound quality coming out of my iPad Pro speakers was strikingly pure and well balanced. I really can’t think of a lead guitar part in any song that is more screaming fun and musical than this song by Boston. Great tribute and bless you for being perfectly in tune with the recording. It was an enjoyable listen.
