- In this video I show you how to save a boatload of money converting your sealed beam headlights into LEDs the caveman way. LED conversion kits for these bulbs are obscenely overpriced so I improvised a MUCH more affordable solution. I did this on my '02 Trans Am (4th gen firebird). These same bulbs also came in the following vehicles:
1986-1987 Buick Riveria
1986-1988 Buick Century
1989 Buick Skyhawk
1989-1991 Chevy Blazer
1988-1991 Chevy Silverado (including 454 SS)
1992-1996 Chevy Sport Van
1989-1991 Chevy Tahoe
1989-1991 Chevy Suburban
1990-1993 Chrysler Imperial
1993 Chrysler New Yorker
1990-1991 Geo Storm
1988-1991 GMC Sierra
1992-1995 GMC Vandura
1989-1991 GMC Jimmy
1989-1991 GMC Yukon
1988-1989 Isuzu Impulse
1985-1990 Jeep Wagoneer
1986-1992 Oldsmobile Toronado
1998-2002 Pontiac Firebird (including Formula and Trans Am)
1989-1994 Pontiac Sunbird
1986 Renault Encore

Broooooo, I wish you would have released this a week ago. I just ordered some headlights and now having shipping issues. Would have done it this way in a heartbeat.
Try reaching out to the seller and seeing if they can cancel the order or provide a return label because it is arriving too late
I enjoyed this! I’m going to subscribe for sure!! Full throttle brother!!🫡🤘🏼
glad to hear that brother keep that throttle PINNED!
Great workaround!
thanks man!
Great tip, you must do another video with high beams tho' I just did that like 4 months ago to my jeep wago where i faced same as you, a high price upgrade kit on the internet but I went that way.
it's the same process for the high beams, the only difference between H4701 and H4703 bulbs is the reflective pattern on the inside because one is high beam and one is low beam
You should change the title to "How to piss off every oncoming driver at night".
i need to do this for my Camaro
do it!
Sounds like they have a built in rectifier. Probably to protect them from beeing damaged if somone connect them the wrong way.
And secondary the rectifier would drop some of the voltage, about 1.2V.
Could also be that the driver is repurposed from a AC powered 12V light, like a spotlight.
oh okay thanks for the info!
Do you happen to have links to where you got your parts?
www.aliexpress.us/w/wholesale-h7-led.html?spm=a2g0o.home.search.0
Here's a link, the prices change on a daily basis just make sure you get the fanless h7 bulbs if your car has flip up headlights (they're smaller so they won't interfere with the flip up mechanism)
You do know the LMC Truck headlight housings are the same exact ones that late model lighting is up charging , for the housings they are less than half the price that late model is asking you just add your own LEDs em...
@@neilbrown82relax my guy, he was just trying to help out. No need for the I’m smarter than thou attitude.
@92reap I think you're maybe the one that needs to relax bud.... just trying to help out
@@neilbrown82 even if it is half the price that's still $200 (plus the bulbs), my solution is a fraction of the cost
