You are incredible. You have no idea how much your videos help me. You are a smart teacher that makes music so much of fun. I love playing the violin because of how positive you are towards learning and playing pop music as well 🤗🎻
Oh, Julia, you are just the best! This is very helpful and opens up my understanding of the ornamentation. Getting my violin right now to try it all out! 😍
Julia, you present it so clearly and in easy-to-follow way that I wish to finally get much more serious about my learning process. For now, I could figure out where to put my fingers to get a melody for quite a number of songs, but I lack some basic staff like producing a good tone and particularly vibrato which you so skillfully perform in this magnificent example of how to make a simple song sound fancy. Thanks for being so nice to share your knowledge with us.
Hi Julia You are the very best. I joined the Academy yesterday for a full year and super psyched to improve. Submitted my first video and already I see a big mistake I’ve been making before I even got the feedback. I don’t think I can even play this yet but I appreciate this video too!
Welcome to the Academy Michelle. I am happy to have you with us. A big congratulations on submitting your first video. It take courage to do so but you will be amazed how getting personal advice from a teacher can help you improve your playing. Good luck as you continue forward on your violin journey.
It's been a lovely six months now, thanks Julia😁 It's still sad that I can't do vibrato and I can't read music proberly, my music is not sounding anything like yours, it's just plain and 😪😪😪
Well. I have been playing for about 20 years now, and you for 6 months. You are not expected to sound like me. But you will if you keep practicing diligently and have patience. It will come.😊
Is it advisable to learn vibrato now, my teacher wants me to learn it now and I think it's too early for that. I have a friend who learnt it after six yrs, and just in six months,am being rushed I don't know why things are always different in Nigeria
I have a question about using double stops. Obviously if playing on a G or E, the double stop is the accompanying string. The D for the G and A for the E. If playing the D or A string however, there are 2 accompanying strings. Are there "rules" for which string to Drone? Is it just choosing notes based on how they sound together?
If it is not written in the sheet music and you are simply adding them to make it sound fancy, yes, play around with them to see what sounds better with the piece. Also here is a link to beginners guide to double stops I wrote that you may like. Good luck! 😀 violinspiration.com/violin-double-stops/
t would be helpful if you could provide the sheet that includes all the ornaments in it because it’s confusing to understand everything you’re adding and where.
Don't be so hard on yourself. The violin is a difficult instrument to learn to play well. It takes years to get rid of the "beginner sound" . Keep going. You got this!
Wow! Really impressive. Thank you.

I am so happy you like the video, Jane. Have fun!
Excellent ! Those slides and double stops sound like something a Bluegrass fiddler would add to the song. Love It!!
Thanks! I am so glad you like it!
Wonderful version for this great tune also a bit Irish in style.

Heyy don't rush, learn the vibrato when you feel like it's time, some people prefer learning the vibrato after a year or so!
I want to learn the double stops

Good idea!😀
i want to know more how to use metronome
Noted! Thanks for the suggestion.
