Monster was the very first album I bought. Saw them several times thru the 70's at large concert venues. The last time I saw Steppenwolf was in early 80's when they played a free concert (You had to win tickets to get in.) at a small 500-person club, Toad's Place in New Haven, CT. 10 feet from the band. I meet the entire band outside their dressing room as they entered the club. John K asked me what my favorite song of theirs was. Snowblind Friend (For personal reasons.) They started off their second set, dedicating Snowblind Friend to a longtime fan in the audience. My wife thought I was going to have a heart attack. I was out of my mind with glee. I would have loved to be at this concert.

John Kay is a good man and a great rocker. Smart as a whip and he’s got swagger, too. He didn’t get destroyed by drugs and Alchohol like so many others did. He avoided those traps and pitfalls. This song is about Pushers who don’t care what they’re pushing is killing people. Good song.
I’m glad Kay’s alive and enjoying his life and still making music.
Ted Nugent too! He knew Hendrix who laughed at him when he wouldn’t take drugs.
Well, Hendrix has been in his grave for the past 53 years while Nugent is still playing and living. And hunting Wild Game. He’s healthy and eat meat injected with Growth Hormones like you and I do. He didn’t get poisoned like us.

Saw them in 1971, 1996, and 2003. Each show special. John Kay is a lyrical genius. Good musicians each of them.
They did their retirement with class and dignity, not trying to go out and milk money after their announced end date.
Thanks for all the great music!

In addition to the great music, I love how John takes the time to recognize the crew. Don't know many rock stars who would even think about doing that.

Doesn't get better than this! Had their albums on vinyl when I was a kid in the late '60s-early '70s - but unfortunately, I never got to see 'em live.

I feel like an alien reading this. I don't know how you people grew up, but this one song got all my Steppenwolf albums banned from the neighborhood houses, along with any chance for future purchases. Thank God for Black Sabbarh. What a stupid and ridiculous decision to keep cussing at God for a "cool" song. I can't believe he wasn't struck by a lightning bolt at least 100 times by now. No radio station ever got to air these lyrics. How damned stupid can you be losing money like that? Oh yeah--right. These acid droppers are running our country now. Wonder why we're doing so well?
