Maybe better treatment from childhood but by the end of the series she didn’t even deserve redemption

It’s not really redemption it’s also about her growth as a character. In the beginning, she pushes people away because Adora left.
And it got worse when Shadow Weaver manipulated her again and left her.
She went through guilt and a downward spiral. When she opened the portal and when Scorpia left.
And when Double Trouble said in the season four finals. They said some hard truths about why Catra did what she did.
As the episodes went by In season 5 she works on her anger issues and apologizes to the people she has hurt and betrayed. She got better. She got a happy life and friends and no longer in the toxic situation. Doesn’t have to deal with Shadow Weaver anymore.
Her character arc resembles Zuko from Avatar the last Airbender.
They both went through similar situations. From the paternal figures.
      And stood up to them.
The writing is excellent in this show.

@@jazzinikki01Wow nice thoughts. Would be nice if life was like that. She can apologize all day but she can never un-kill glimmer’s mother or probably hundreds of civilians or de-traumatize the people she tormented. The steven universe logic of the show is cute in theory but this wouldn’t fly in real life. I’m comparing Catra to me. Not a fake scenario which would never happen.

@@Freakazoidandfriends Ok, yeah, but this isn't real life. No one is saying that, irl, you should kill people. What the show IS saying is, break the cycle of abuse, and how that can be easier said than done. It was hard for Catra and while she absolutely was toxic, she managed to unlearn those behaviors and patterns by the end. Y'all have ZERO media literacy, it's insane. It sucks how far this fandom has fallen after the show ended. It's a fantasy series about the horrors of war. Chill.
