Something new today! Not my usual type of content but thought I would make a basic tutorial of sorts. I will still be uploading my usual 'travel' type of films but if you like this type of video showing how I create, let me know and I can try get better at it. One big takeaway I got from this was that audio is a big part of making video transitions feel smoother. Even if it's just a jumpcut, the sound effects made it feel like an extremely smooth transition
Absolutely! I’m a beginner and have been so focused on trying to get some natural transitions. But now, thanks to the video, I feel a bit more relieved that I can use sound effects with jumpcuts.
This is not only for editors/sound designers but even for the general public to know and appreciate the efforts that are put into the making of films. This is putting a new level into sensory sensations. Thank you.

My god.. starting off teaching myself filmmaking I thought I needed endless songs to create atmospheres but this taught me that while this is harder to learn and do it's well worth the effort! Thx for this insight dude! Bought the Essential SFX pack as well to start playing around with. Man I'm excited! Haha It's like a whole new world has revealed itself to me.

OMG - I am loving this! I'm an editor for a company that does small reality type shows. I remember distinctly talking to some new crew members - to NOT use music throughout a piece - and to use sound. They all turned around and looked at me with what I could best described as mystification. They were actually very uncomfortable not using music back to back. But I LOVE LOVE LOVE sound design. Just the best. And this vid you've put together makes me sooooo happy! Thanks!

Any Idea how he actualy used it? Cause it was muted, wasn't it?
@ernstfast6449 it wasn't muted when he timed the clips. Thats why every 3-4 ticks there was a video switch
