There is a player strat model that comes with fat 50s. Do you think theyre better all around than the normal player pick ups? Im more interested in cleaner tones im not a metal guy
Hi there, thanks for your comment. I agree, I don't like this video. Had to do it in a new place, new gear, new monitors and in a hurry. So sounds weird to my ears. :) Will revisit these pickups one day, cheers. :)
Hey wait a sec... you are a real expert on this pickups because I found on your website a whole fantastic written review about this Fat 50's. First of all thanks for the video and for the review, they really helped me. I have a question. Are these pickups intended to be used exclusively with a vintage neck? I mean with smaller radius? I want to install them on a strat copy which has a flatter neck than the typical Strat. Will the still work? Thanks.
Hey, thanks a lot man! Means a lot to me :) Not really an expert on these pickups, but these have been the pickups I spent the most time with (among other single coil guitars that I had tested & played...etc). I think they are one of the best overall Strat pickups. :) I believe you can use it on a guitar with a flatter neck. Even though there are different opinions on the internet weather flat or staggered pickups on particular radiuses, I think you can fine tune pickup heights as well as individual string action, I don't think you will have a problem with the individual pickup balances. Hope this helps, cheers.
@@cigilovic Thanks a lot for your valuable input. You certainly are an expert compared to me and many others like me. Your article was so well put together that I wanted to try and contact you. And here we are. I'll go for the pickups and see what happens, also they come pre-wired and it is very convenient for my project. All the best

Hey there, I suggest you get that guitar :) These pickups are so good!
I don't think that was the best riff you could have used to showcase the clean tones...

@@cigilovic Thanks for the reply and looking forward to the updated review if you ever do it!
Do you think these would be good for funk rythm playing? Or do they get muddier than other strat pick ups
Idk if this is a dumb question sorry lol
No worries, these pickups can sound anything you like. I think these are one of the best, all-around Strat pickups. :)
