    Just had my mock exam at the end of year 12 I think that I done awful, only around 30% of the questions I actually knew what I was doing on. The thing is in secondary I've never had to revise because everything was easy for me and to an extent I don't really need to revise for my other two subjects, Maths and Physics, to get about an A, so I've never really revised and this exam has really made it hit me how badly I need to start revising, especially for Further Maths. My teacher has told me if I had been working hard since the beginning I could get an A*. For some reason I never even thought of using the textbooks but it's a great idea, hopefully with your advice I can reach my full potential for FM next year and get an A*. :)

    I pretty much decided on econ, maths, politics and sociology for my A levels but seems like further maths is really considered in top unis especially LSE 😭 I may have to pick FM instead of politics and socio then 😭

    Thanks for this video ❤️ I’m just concerned that in my case I have to complete the whole of maths in year 1 and then FM in year 2. Idk how I’m gonna be able to cope with doing all of maths in one year because I didn’t take FM for gcse ( I didn’t even get told it was a thing until mid of year 11 when it was too late) and I’m not the strongest at maths but I really want to do it for uni. Do you have any tips/advice?

    • @lifeofpari4515
      @lifeofpari4515  4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      This is exactly what happened to me briefly - the best advice I can give you is use your textbooks!! Stay on top of everything by revising for a few hours every week at least. Don’t worry - believe in yourself and you will be fine. It’s hard and it’s intense, but you can do it x

      @@_angeell hey, i’ve finished my gcse cause i was in year 11 when i posted that, i haven’t got my results yet but i’m pretty sure i did good enough to get an 8 on my final mock. Using mathsgenie helped me A LOT with topics i didn’t understand, i would print out their checklist and go through everything i didn’t understand there then do past papers after i’ve gone through every topic i struggle on, i’d then mark them and see whether my marks were lost from mistakes or a lack of knowledge on the topic, afterwards i would go through the topic again if it’s a lack of knowledge then do questions specifically on that topic to make sure i understand it completely

    Hey pari. I just got my As results today and idk how I’m exactly in a situation as you. I gave 4 subjects in my As which are Physics, Maths, Further Maths and Economics. I got an A in Phy maths and econ but I ended up getting a D in Further maths. I’m really lost and I was considering dropping further maths. I plan to study economics in the future and I’m hoping for the top unis. Listening to you I feel I really need some more advising. If you had time could you please help

    lse said that if we got an A for AS Further maths, we can drop it as the fourth subject? that's their requirement?

    • @lifeofpari4515
      @lifeofpari4515  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes that’s true, that is their minimum requirement - however, if you think about the competition in terms of the type of people that apply, they will not only meet LSEs requirements, but will exceed them, too. So try to go above their expectations if you can :)
