TheRacoonGhost There are none known still around by the Empire in TES IV. There were, and still are, many Aedric Artifacts throughout Tamriel however, such as the heart of lorkhan, the amulet of kings, Auriel's Bow, the staff of magnus, etc. They're just less common as the Aedra aren't exactly trying to hand out their toys to men and mer like the daedra do.

Morokei is best dragon priest, imo. Cool mask that goes with a lot of armors, cool backstory, insanely hard fight if you're not prepared, and really ominous voice leading up to you facing him. He definitely fits the perfect image of a powerful and maniacal lich.
I like the silvery-blue color. It's close enough to steel to blend in with iron/steel armors, or bring some blue magicka vibes to another armor set. I don't really care about the clipping. It's minor, and everything in Skyrim has that problem. Also I honestly like the look of the OG masks over the ones in Dragonborn. And yeah, most any enemy's easy to kill if you don't know what you're doing, but Morokei was an enemy specialized in killing mages, at the end of a questline for mages. I remember my first ever fight against him when he turned my summons against me and I was struggling for magicka.
@@SumitKumarrr1 True, just look at Hevnorak and the Evil in Waiting quest, he was specifically trying to turn himself into a very powerful lich with removing his blood into the vessels, he failed due to the ghost and the dragonborn and does not attain the power he wants to have even when the ritual finishes and he awakens, and he's still a full on dragonpriest (and one of the hardest if not for the obvious huge prep time he gives you). Side note, what with the priest's ghost also appearing around the level, I always found that quest such a waste, that it would have been better if the ghost jailer actually WAS Hevnorak (in something closer to his mortal form) and he tricked you into finishing his ritual and awakening him, with the sitting in the throne bit then possibly even stealing some of the dragonborn's power to make him godlike and a potential new Miraak, prompting a desperate battle where suddenly a lot more than your own life is at stake.
@@Sacremas is a lich not defined as being a powerful mage who has prolonged their life by storing their soul in a phylactery? Im pretty sure none of the dragon preists did that.
@@SumitKumarrr1 That's the D&D definition, but liches have shown up elsewhere in other fiction and not needed phylacteries or the like, with the general definition just being "undead self-aware mage" mostly really (as opposed to the likes of skeleton mages, Wights and the like). For Elder Scrolls the Evil in Waiting quest and the fact that there actually were enemies called Liches (notably much weaker than the dragon priests) in Oblivion is kinda what we have to go by.
Dawn Magic: the magic of the "Dawn Era", a period of time where all souls were divine metaphors, breathing entire realities into existence on a whim. Seven Natures of Metal and how to Harmonize Them: otherwise known as "Tonal Architecture". A FudgeMuppet favorite if memory serves. This guy was OP as F*CK. O_o
Story time: My Breton Mage was from Darkwater Crossing and her friend had been killed by Falmer in Darkwater Pass, leading to her capture by imperials. Eventually she went back there and conquered her fear of Falmer. Later, she went to Kolbjorn Barrow for the ring of destruction but went in too deep and nearly died facing Ahzidal. At first, she refused to wear his mask, knowing its ancient and evil power. Eventually, she had to put it on in order to defeat Miraak and become the one true Dragonborn. After putting it on, she would not take it off and it began corrupting her, leading her to seek falmer to kill. After wiping out almost every Falmer in Skyrim, she turned to the other elves. It was then that the true nature of the Dragon Priest mask became known to her allies. So yeah whenever one of my characters uses a dragon priest mask they become edgy. My Breton mage used to be very introverted and preferred not to engage in combat unless absolutely necessary, until after putting Ahzidal on. After killing Alduin and the Ebony Warrior in her playthrough, I like to think that, at least in my headcanon, she is the true villain of this universe. She’s done every Daedric Quest, killed any elf NPC she can, and collected just about everything. She was my first character, and will be the one I remember most.
I believe Miraak is my favorite dragon priest, do to him also being the Dragonborn. However, I like him more than the others because his story is very mysterious as nearly everyone in Skyrim and Solstheim barely knew him since he was locked away in Hermaeus Mora's realm of Apocrypha. Do to being not only a dragon priest, but also a Dragonborn he would be considered the most powerful out of all the dragon priests in my opinion. Love your videos FudgeMuppet, keep up the great content!
KJN 2000 it's debatable who the strongest is, Vahlok was at least as strong and possibly stronger than Miraak. He and Miraak fought and Vahlok won, though it was a hard fought battle.
Yes but judging by the amount of dead Dragons at the entrance of Miraak's temple im going to assume Vahlok had more help than Miraak did. Side note Miraak was in his own way very helpful to the Nords who rebelled against the dragons despite not joining forces with them.
Honestly. Azidal has always been my favorite. Especially since he has so many personal relics and a stunning backstory. Plus, my dark elf character plus rhe mask equals no fire damage due to the 50% fire resist buffs from each.
What are you on about? I walked on water....with the aid of a net....but still, I can turn water to wine! By watering down wine like the French *cough* *cough*
Great video FudgeMuppet, Interesting to learn more about Azidal and his lore. Also would you do videos on Zahkriisos and Dukaan just to complete the Dragonborn dlc masks.
so to clarify, Ahzidal learned the magic of all the races of his time, learned dragon magic, and daedric magic, and if it hadn't had been for the dragon born would have actually gotten away with it as well. managing to escape he grasp of the daedra by means of dragon priest entombment and necromantic resurrection. Impressive. had he survived he would have created an empire enchanted with intense magic and armored in real Dwarven metal. at that rate I wonder how much longer it would have taken him to learn CHIM. he certainly seemed to be on the the fast track to becoming insanely powerful.
CHIM isn't really a thing. The few books about it were written by in game characters well known for being completely full of shit. I wouldn't trust Vivec to tell the truth about what eye color you have, let alone anything else. The only truth you'll find in his sermons is the hidden message, "Vehk killed Neravar".

Hevnoraak! He might be the most sadistic and downright evil of the priests. His mask is also deceiptifly usefull, especially with the new Survival Mode dlc.
I have close to 1000 hours in Skyrim and I had never even thought about the connection between Miraak and Ahzidal. Gotta say that blew my mind. The depth of it at least..

Probably because he was no where near the eye when they attacked, so they foolishly thought he wasn't seeking its power. The only attacked the people of Sarthaal, the other encampments were left alone. Kind of puts a hole in the theory that they were going after all Atmoran's, or that they wanted the eye for themselves. It also lends credence to the theory that Ysgramor's people were the ones that activated it, and that's why Sarthaal was attacked.
That moment when you watch a Fudgemuppet vid 1 hour and 42 minutes after it came out, and say to yourself "I'll have to stay up later next time". This was incredibly interesting, and I thank you for giving it to the world!
Took long enough to get around to Ahzidal, one of my favourite dragon priests next to Hevnoraak. I was surprised you didn't mention him in the Companions video.
Why is it.... now i ask, why is it that we don't get to see any of these ancient forms of magic in game? any idea how much more interesting the game could become with that sort of magic lore coming into gameplay?
We got it worse in Ireland. Most of the people living in the south have lost power, and entire towns have gone dark. Not just small villages, but major towns like Bandon
My favourite Dragon Priest is the black hole of lore surronding Forelhost, Vosis and Rahgot that Bethesda put 0 effort into making any sense. In Skyrim they create a dungeon, put a named dragon priest in it, add some lore and it's all good. Then in ESO they decide to add the exact same dungeon they added in Skyrim, yet made the exterior completely different, gave it a complex door opening mechanism that they didn't use in Skyrim, made the ruins MUCH smaller on the inside, then added a different named Dragon Priest in an area that doesn't exist in the Skyrim version, they don't add the Word Wall, Rahgot has clearly gone on holiday or something, and none of this makes any sense. Why would they take something they've already created and then completely change it to the point of it not making any sense when you compare the two versions? Is ESO meant to be non-canon or something?
User: JD2013 from: forums.elderscrollsonline.com "Yes it is. And is set hundreds of years before the main series starts, so has no effect whatsoever on them. It's been stated it is canon." I guess it it canon :)
Good video, love these lore videos. Also thank you, thank you for not getting angry at HX and keeping cool, that's what he really whats, a big ass internet fight.
I kinda wish they had a female dragon priestess. Might be a neat build. Woman shunned by tge priests goes off and proves herself worthy of becoming one of the elite sorcerers.
My favorite priests are Zakriisos, Nahkriin, and Miraak. Zakriisos was said to be the second strongest of the Dragon Acolytes after Miraak. This is exemplified in game by the fact that he can cast Lightning Storm with one hand without the aid of a staff. Nahkriin was the strongest of the Dragon Priests and was charged directly by Alduin to guard Skuldafn and the portal to Sovngrade that lay inside. Miraak was just a badass, joining Hermaeus Mora and slaughtering so many dragons, only being defeated by Vahlok the Jailor and The Last Dragonborn.
I wish there was more info on Nakraan and Zahkriisos. It would shed some more light on how Mora manages to sway these errant dragon priests to his side, and possibly what sort of antagonistic connection he has to the Dragon Cult as an organization.
My favorite dragon priest is actually the last dragonborn because if you look closely into the details the last dragonborn is actually a dragon priest to be. The reason behind this is you get a dragon priest mask that no other dragon priest can wear because you are The Warlord or Konahrik in dragon language. By killing all the dragon priests you rise up to the top of the dragon cult. By doing this you you are then rewarded with the mask Konahrik. But why do the dragon priest fight you? Well since you are suppose to be the warlord, the priest have to make you that way but in the end you turn your back on the dragon cult and shove a blade into the heart of Alduin. I love your video's FudgeMuppet so keep going on with your amazing videos.
Hey everyone, you know how, despite their distrust of mages, the Nords are okay with enchanters? At first it may seem hypocritical, but what if it's actually because of Ahzidal and the services he provided to Ysgramor and the Companions?
having this magic in a relationship must have been blessed. As soon as either wife or child complains, >casts calm. "How many soul gems did you need again dear"
My favorite Dragon Priest has always been Krosis. Just because of his name. In the Dragon tongue, it means apologies. I've heard Paarthurnax use it when he digresses into rambling about certain topics. So, literally this dude's name means I'm sorry. What's he sorry about? Trying to kick our butt? "Hey, man, sorry I gotta do this to you, but you gotta go!"
Funny i stumble back across this video all these years later while I'm playing my build inspired by this character. I literally named it Ahzidal The Destroyer, and the RP behind it is that hes the real Ahzidal, just reborn. Master of all magic, hungry for more endless knowledge. Even learning how to summon Ayleid Liches to do his bidding in combat (whom also summon a storm elemental each, for a total of 4 summoned minions on your side) obviously specializing in fire destruction magic and makes use of stuff like wards to avoid the effects of dragon breath attacks and shouts too. Wears heavy armor, all enchanted and everything. It's a wicked fun build. I wven kept my hp intentionally low just so I dont ever feel like ive become so powerful that im immune to death. I still have to constantly utilize the knowledge in which ive gained (dragon hide alternation spell) to survive
Poor guy, must've been terrible. We still don't know why the Night of Tears happened for sure, or what happened before it. Maybe the Atmorans were messing with it and the Falmer felt that they were being too reckless. Ahzidal definitely had his reasons but at the same time, I feel he took out too much anger on the Snow Elves, and I imagine that he killed many innocents that also had families who did nothing wrong. Plus, the Mer taught him magic too, so he must have had some Mer friends.
@@joynelbonet194 Yeah, he Betrayed them, although he must've gained their trust and at least respect as a good mage for them to have taken them under their tutelage.
@@joynelbonet194 It's a shame really, the Snow Elves really shouldn't have allowed Ysgramor and his followers to settle for as long as they did. Nordic culture and beliefs wouldn't mesh as well as the Nedes did in Skyrim, and after his provocations and set up of the Draugr and Dragon Cults... not to mention the sort of off hand but still sorta relevant Michael Kirkbride writings, Ysgramor/Saarthal and Ahzidal betrayed their trust. Ysgramor, Ahzidal, the Dwemer... the Snow Elves had a really rough time, and trust is hard to come by for them anymore, a now mostly dead race
@@thalmoragent9344 If things hadn't happened as it did in Skyrim, who would had helped the nedic people in Cyrodiil free themselves from slavery and what would had happened with the part mer, part men people in Highrock? The meric people were quite hostile towards the men of Tamriel, many going to the extent of slavery and experimentation. Even the Redguards fought two different types of mer before claiming Hammerfell as their homeland (The Left-Handed Elves and the Orcs and also Goblins). I also read somewhere that there were Nedic people living in Morrowind but got exterminated by the Chimer. The Meretic era is filled with a lot of hate and war between the races of Elves and Humans.
Krosis at Shearpoint kicked my shiny milk-drinking arse the first time I played Skyrim. "And what a crappy word wall after all that." - Njada Stonearm, after we prevailed in that fight.
Can you do a video about Dukaan? I really like his mask but there is absolutely no history on him. Would really like it if you did a backstory for him.
Only Sarthaal was attacked, other settlement's went untouched. That dragon priest was even trained by Snow elves after the attack on Sarthaal. If they hadn't messed with the eye, they wouldn't have been attacked.
clearly Hevnoraak is the greatest dragon priest, but i'd like to point out that based on FudgeMuppet's video, it seems very likely that Ahzidal build, or at least enchanted, Ysgramor's Wuthraad
How long did it take you to research all this? This is amazing! You really help connect the dots, and this is the first time I've heard the story about the Snow Elves razing Saarthal for the Eye of Magnus, but it makes a great deal of sense. It also fits perfectly with the story of the Snow Elves fearing the advances Man would make, especially if they had discovered the Eye of Magnus. Keep up the good work!
I've got an idea for a build- the Zombie, a ice casting, two handing, dragur armour wearing nord, welding a ancient nord great sword. You guys can create this and can make your own story, but it's good cuz Halloween is coming, so, think about it please
I personally like Krosis, mostly because of the mask he has, and also, I never really ever intend on killing him. For some reason, Shear point is always listed as "discovered" for me at some point in my playthroughs, despite never traveling there, so I always end up fast traveling there and killing the dragon and Krosis. Plus, he guards the shout "Throw Voice" which fits my playstyle quite well. I feel like for anyone doing a sneak Light armor build, Krosis is a great choice to have, if not for all out combat, at least for sneak archery and those damn locked chests.
Unfortunately, this one and Miraak are the only ones you'll find anything about. Chances are that when they destroyed the dragon cult they buried all of their involvement with it.
Best Dragon Priest: The Last Dragonborn. Technically the last DB IS 'serving'/'studying' under a dragon (Paarthunax) and he proceeds to potentially travel to EACH TOMB and take each and every Mask from the other Dragon Priests (including the ones banished to Solthsteim, and one TRAPPED IN A FREAKING REALM OF OBLIVION).

Why would they take something they've already created and then completely change it to the point of it not making any sense when you compare the two versions? Is ESO meant to be non-canon or something?

"Yes it is. And is set hundreds of years before the main series starts, so has no effect whatsoever on them.
It's been stated it is canon."
I guess it it canon :)
Miraak is probably my favorite. Ahzidal and zahkriisos are close seconds
Good video, love these lore videos.
Also thank you, thank you for not getting angry at HX and keeping cool, that's what he really whats, a big ass internet fight.
Great video for people who can't be bothered reading the book
I kinda wish they had a female dragon priestess. Might be a neat build. Woman shunned by tge priests goes off and proves herself worthy of becoming one of the elite sorcerers.
Yes
Good job on this vid FudgeMuppet, I loved it!
Legit every time is see one of your videos I go play skyrim for like 12 hours
Hey FudgeMuppit! This may be a bit late, but could you do a lore video on dukaan and zahkriisos??? Id love to know more on them as well
Is there a build coming out of this? :3 Azhidal's successor?
Buraun we are working on a cool build that definitely researched Ahzidal in his backstory, but won't actually revolve around him too much :))
Eh, close enough for me :3
I suggested a build to Drew a while back that utilized Ahzidal's armor and Stalhrim weapons.
I like the unique unique armor mod that makes the are not just be great armor but also very aestheticly pleasing
In the tundra Homestead for creation Club you can actually store all the masks
The dragon priest in the last outpost where the cult had been besieged and committed mass suicide.
I really want a small animation that tells about the dragon priest especially krosis wooden mask warlord and varlock
Great freaking content... I want to see a Skyrim best mod showcase. I think you guys can make a bad ass showcase
My favourite Dragon Priest is "Krosis" because it means sorrow and that is what my heart is filled with.
It is a real nightmare fighting this guy as a vampire. I had to load more than 20 times since he one shotted my mage character on master difficulty
Wish you could get Dragon Priest armor...
those lore videos are always so damn awesome !!
they always make me wanna play the game again and again♥
He's like The Elder Scrolls version of Darth Plaguies
My favourite is actually Dukaan. The name itself is awesome.
Zahkriizos is my favourite , because I only use lightning magic and I think his name is super cool.
I need an enchanted mask in real life.
Ahzidal reminds me of Voldemort from the books, a really old guy who is: gifted in fire magic, a REALLY powerful wizard, and an undead asshole.
I doubt the Mer who taught him magic were his friends. He probably used them to get more powerful and use that magic against the elves anyway.
@@joynelbonet194
Yeah, he Betrayed them, although he must've gained their trust and at least respect as a good mage for them to have taken them under their tutelage.
@@thalmoragent9344 no doubt
@@joynelbonet194
It's a shame really, the Snow Elves really shouldn't have allowed Ysgramor and his followers to settle for as long as they did.
Been thinking when Shalidor started the the College of Winterhold it probably was the Collage of Saarthal
Awesome content as usual
Well, Mudge Fuppet, I found this very interesting. Good video. But, my favorite dragon priest is still Morokei
Krosis at Shearpoint kicked my shiny milk-drinking arse the first time I played Skyrim.
"And what a crappy word wall after all that." - Njada Stonearm, after we prevailed in that fight.
I wish Ahzidal's armor was his Dragon Priest armor. It should be a crime for you to not be able to wear such a piece of art.
I love you guys and your channel so much great content thank you
Rah 514 thanks so much!!
does he say "look forward to Nerding out with you again" or "look forward to Nirning out..."
Can you do a video about Dukaan? I really like his mask but there is absolutely no history on him. Would really like it if you did a backstory for him.
There's a leson here for the elves. and that lesson is don't fuck with somebody and if you can't finish it
Only Sarthaal was attacked, other settlement's went untouched. That dragon priest was even trained by Snow elves after the attack on Sarthaal. If they hadn't messed with the eye, they wouldn't have been attacked.
Hey Scott my favorite dragon priest is krosis can you do some more about him
"Almost as lusty as an argonian maid"
Hehe i see what you did there,
LOVE YOU FUDGEMUPPET
I like ahzidal's story it made me want to become a badass enchanter in game....he would've been a great Sith. he had the ambition
I just woke like literally JUST now and the first thing I do is watch this so as u can tell I have much love for u guys
clearly Hevnoraak is the greatest dragon priest, but i'd like to point out that based on FudgeMuppet's video, it seems very likely that Ahzidal build, or at least enchanted, Ysgramor's Wuthraad
Based on the experience of hunting each priest, my favorite would definitely have to be Morokei. For obvious reasons of course
What if mehrunes dagons invasion was successful and he won?
Nahkriin and Zaakriisos are my favorite dragon priests because I love the design of their masks (I probably spelt their names wrong)
What exactly is dawn magic?
justin koprowski it is said to be chaotic magic, resembling the dawn era
FudgeMuppet sounds fruity
Dawn Magic:
Magic of the "Dawn Era", a period in time where souls were divine metaphors the breathed entire realities into existence on a whim.
Plot twist ahzidal created The Eye of Magnus
You should make a Talos Hunter build
Just occurred to me Ahzidal's story is very close to that of Elminster from the Forgotten Realms. Or at least Elminster's youth.
I've got an idea for a build- the Zombie, a ice casting, two handing, dragur armour wearing nord, welding a ancient nord great sword. You guys can create this and can make your own story, but it's good cuz Halloween is coming, so, think about it please
Archer Boy121704 so you went a white walker build ? Got it , it would be very cool
"What you called is the falmor and what I call it the betrayed"
I call them THE ANNOYING
I personally like Krosis, mostly because of the mask he has, and also, I never really ever intend on killing him.
For some reason, Shear point is always listed as "discovered" for me at some point in my playthroughs, despite never traveling there, so I always end up fast traveling there and killing the dragon and Krosis. Plus, he guards the shout "Throw Voice" which fits my playstyle quite well.
I feel like for anyone doing a sneak Light armor build, Krosis is a great choice to have, if not for all out combat, at least for sneak archery and those damn locked chests.
Also he cleaned sarthaal of the elves and stopped them from getting the eye
Do the other dragon priests have a lot of lore? I want to know about all of them. Do Krosis next. :>
Not really, maybe your Dragon Born is.
I literally just beat this quest and just to get that naughty armor for Lydia
