Very happy to have found this video. Thank you for sharing! I was able to reproduce what you have done. However, when applying this method to my dataset, all I get is total nonsense. I think that this method only works with integer x-coordinates. You can work around this limitation by, for instance, multiplying x values by 100 and removing the decimals, but you'll have trouble fitting the area chart right underneath the resulting curve (at least I was struggling).
Thank you! And in case someone is wondering what the step was to make the secondary axes disappear - it was simply selecting each secondary axis and pressing "delete"
Hello. The video very helpful and very easy to follow. Could you please make a video how to fill the area under the the XY chart but the base of the area lies on y axis instead of x. Thank you.
Hi can you please please help me? How do I add a shaded region to a column chart. The X variables are ‘brands’ (so not numerical) and the Y values are ‘sales’ (numerical).

This is a fantastic tutorial for something that seems unnecessarily complicated from Excel's standpoint. Why is this NOT a default graph?!?!?
Unfortunately we don't have direct options to perform this, but the options are available to customize the chart as per our needed.
Cant seem to get this to work with a normal distribution chart
