My smallest travel kit...so far...

- Yes, I've been tweaking my kit again, trying to lighten the load and simplify! (Ha, right?)
Trying to do a video holding the camera with one hand and demonstrating with the other makes for a rather strange effect. (So does having kitty help!) But I've been wanting to get a video of this done and it's too hot out in my shed Studio, where I have a better setup, with tripods and all! We'll just have to make do as best we can.
Katty, I glad that you started to post again.
Nice little kit, your first steps in painting watercolors was the first book I ever bought many years ago and inspired me to paint and I haven't stopped since.Thank you,as I have a passion and a good habit now.😀😀
glad to see you posting again - I've learned lots from your videos and look forward to more - love your helpers!
Me too!
Could you make a video showing you using that tiny palette? I am wondering how you would use the flat brush in the tiny wells. What is your water set up for travel , any particular brush cup or waterbottle ? I am a newbie and still figuring out what I like and dislike in paints and gear. I don't like using waterbrushes so I am still working at simplifying my water set up for travel. Thanks for sharing your videos. I have devoured your older ones and have been awaiting more of your guidance.
You just have to stick the corner of a flat brush in, mostly! I have a little sprayer for water that I got in the travel section of our discount store...works great!
I love your videos Cathy. I hope you will share more with us soon. Thank you :)
Lovely kit and cute helpers! :) 😊
What a cool compact art kit Cathy! Tfs 😃👍 pretty kitties 🐱
Nice to see your video!! I have a similar, minimal watercolor kit like this and love it. I realize I only need just a few of my favorite colors on the go! Thank you for sharing!
i love the stealth kit!
I am going to Charleston in April and will make a tiny kit like yours to pack with my beach gear, including sun protection!
Have fun!!
Nicely done! And your helpers are adorable.
Very nice little kit. I'm putting a kit together for a backpacking trip this week. Thanks for the ideas and inspiration. You always seem to have some ideas that urge me on to do more plein air sketching.
Haha love the kitty cameos (did they somehow manage to cut you off at the end? LOL) , and the tiny palette!!
Probably!
Trop chou cette palette 🥰
What brand of paints did you fill your pan with? I like the fact you have a variety of brushes. A girl can never be satisfied with 1 brush! LOL!
Actually, I use a mixture...usually Winsor & Newton and Daniel Smith paints. And yes, I was just missing my other waterbrush...
Kathy, what colors are in your micro palette? I enjoy your videos and books, thanks for sharing.
Sorry I meant Cathy
😍😍😍
Thank you! Love it! What ink do you use for your pens? All black or other colors too?
I use mostly black, Lexington Grey and brown in a few of them...none of these, though, they get cranky! My TWSBI seems to be able to handle brown...
Kathy, where do you get that tiny palette?
yes, I love mini palette containers.
I recently bought one from Wet Paint Art online for $2.79. It's adorable.
I found a mini (approx 4"x3") porcelain palette, 12 wells, with a separate lid for mixing colors on Amazon made by Jack Richeson for about $13. IMO, porcelain makes the best surface for mixing colors. The plastic, mini palette from Wet Paint Art Supplies is about the size Cathy uses, but now the mixing area inside is a purple-ish, pink color. Not sure why they no longer use a white color inside the palette for mixing colors, sigh.
:)
