We have around 70 000 wild Jacarandas growing in Johannesburg, South Africa. Their new growth always seems to grow upwards so they can have a nice sideways sweeping shape if planted at an angle. Also, once their roots are settled in the bot they can survive quite drastic trunk chops in hot environments.
I need some help if you don't mind me asking, i have 2 small once growing near my window since we don't have a garden, unfortunately i can not grow them outside and i know they love sunlight, its a South west facing window so the afternoon sun gets it nicely, but i realize that the leaves are a little droopy or curled up , i transplanted 1 just to give it more space in the pot and fresh soil , but google doesn't tell me exactly what i need to do 😂😂😂my bad i never did that before, i just wanted to know if you might know some tips that might help me , my other bonsai plants seem to be fine and are growing nicely, its a ficus microcarpa, now i want to bonsai my jackies if possible, and woth winter coming up in 6 months (i live in South africa) idk whats the best thing to do now
Jacarandas are lovely trees. We have planted two in our apartment garden
I like them, not sure they are great for bonsai but they are nice trees.
I have a pot full of >1 year old jac seedlings! 🌱 you’ve inspired me to try this!🙌🪴
I hope they turn out well!

Thanks! I'm doing my best.
lovely plant-what are the best plant pots to put them in if you want it to get a larger trunk size.? What is the soil you use?
The bigger one was in the ground for about a year. I use Wigert's coarse mix.
Jacaranda is my favourite tree from living in Australia. I just wish the grew outdoors in the UK
They look great when they bloom.

I don't know anything about trying to grow inside. I'd say the bigger the grow lights the better for ficus and Jacaranda.
@@TropicalBonsai I think that might be the issue, will have to get that sorted out , thank you
Thanks for sharing! I have 3 growing myself that are a couple months old. Looking forward to them getting that big
Thanks, lots of Florida sun for these two.
Are jacarandas suitable for wedge cuts? I have a large jac that I'd like to make into a weeping style.
I am not sure. I've never tried. I think it would be worth a shot, but I only have these two so I've never experimented.
