Great build out. I like the modifications and personalization you made to the Ron Paulk trailer. I appreciate the 4 long drawers on the right. In my next build, I will incorporate that idea for materials storage. Thanks for the video!
I had that same router bit set from Amazon. Advice: a dab of lock tite on the alien screws holding the bearings or be prepared to have them spin off while in use.
It depends! I’d say if you do more handyman work, the ART would be great with saws already setup. I work with a lot of 16’ lengths so it wasn’t optimal for me.
Nice work looks great! I'm considering doing this build in a 7ft wide trailer what width did you scale down the left and right side cabinets to make the smart design fit? What size did it leave your walkway?
Did you happen to weigh your trailer before you built all this and then weigh it before you loaded all your stuff in it then after you loaded it? My 7x12 has a 3500 lb axle. Have 1550 payload to work with. I doubt after doing this a guy would come even close to 1550 pounds of storage and tools. Just curious if you did that.
No, it’s something you get pretty good at pretty fast. That said, we don’t normally work in cities. Mostly rural areas/suburbs. That comes with it’s own challenges though
Luckily, almost none! I've had a couple instances where my chalk lines bounce off the shelf, but the miter saw gets a clamp and the rest hold just fine behind the 3/4"x3/4" ledgers. Each cubby gets one tool, so nothing is stacked and slipping/falling around. The drawers have a notch that sits behind a 1/16" stopblock so they don't open in transit. You need to slightly lift the drawer to pull it out.
Nice Job! This rig will make your work more enjoyable and pay for itself in about a minute😎🤙
Thanks Ron!
WoW..! You are a true Craftsman...
Excellent build and tour. I like how you’ve organized your drawers. Very intuitive.
Outstanding SMART trailer! Really nicely done!

Love the build! I will be using lots of ideas from this for my own !
This set up is very nice!
I have a 7x16 trailer. Trying to decide if I’m going to build the ART or SMART design. Thanks for the video.

Good stuff son! 🤟1:03
What size wood did you use for your drawers… looks like 1/2 in or smaller?

Is it easy to turn into those tight 3m city streets with wall on both sides with a trailer like that?
I live in a more rural area, so I don’t know. I’m sure a van would be better for city work & parking
How far out do the drawers stick out on the left side?
Its an 8' drawer
Do you know how much the trailer weighs fully loaded?
Ah, not sure! I’ve estimated around 4000 fully loaded
Great build out. Gave me some good ideas. What track saw do you use?
I use the Makita and never had an issue with it, great tool
Wow
Ever have trouble parking on the jobs

So you’ve been a carpenter since Covid, cool!
huh?
how mand tools fall out when turning corner , like in my van lol

Put some candle wax on those drawer slides it works wonders thank me later.
