  • On March 3, 2022 the Garden Club of Jax, Duval Audubon Society, Northeast Florida Sierra Club, and our Ixia Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society partnered on a special Horticulture Corner program with Doug Tallamy of the Homegrown National Park project, an effort to create 20 million acres of native plantings in yards and communities across the United States. These four organizations are joining together to encourage people in Northeast Florida to sign up their yards for the Homegrown National Park challenge.

Awesome presentation, loved all the moth photos. I’m on the map and have added many native plants to my landscape.

Encourage schools in your area to create educational pollinator gardens. It only takes a 5'x5' area to begin. Blessings to all whom admire nature!

This guy's amazing. He might be doing more for the ecology in this country than anyone else 🙂The next question is, how do you get more people on board?? I keep trying :-(...

Yes, Doug is AMAZING! Our local chapters need more hands on deck in getting the word out. Are you a member and active in your chapter?

A lot of these examples of mutualism are ones that can readily be seen.
Imagine the relationships below the soil or the water. Or inside say the plant itself like a borer or a nocturnal insect.

What do you want, him to live in a tent? Send your comments to mega corporations that clear cut native forests to make massive parking lots.
