Thank YOU for being open to watching us in the first place. And for taking the time to write to let us know. Grateful that our humour transcends all kinds of boundaries. Fa'afetai! - (Thank you!)
As a Dominican I can relate to the part about people visiting for days 😂😂😂😂ounce the funeral is over , we pray for 9 days give snacks to anyone that comes over to give us their condolences and on the 9th day we have a mass and cook a big meal for around 100 to 250 people 🙇🏻♀️
Wow! Lord pray that there isn't a Samoan who's married to a Dominican out there as the funeral of either one of them could possibly be the longest ever in the history of the world if the two cultures get their way. Lol!
Funny thing is we would have had no idea what our funniest skit was from the many that we performed during our time together. If you had asked us individually or together which skit we thought was the funniest I don't think either of us would have picked this one. But it's clearly the funniest as far as you our fans are concerned. Nice that it was from our final show as we'd like to think that we had continued to grow and improve with each show. Thank you!
These guys are so funny! It really is so refreshing to hear such clean humor without resolving to vulgarity. Never got to see them live but I'm glad to see and hear them here on TH-cam. Thanks for posting!
I'm so upset that they're not touring and making shows anymore :( 😭😭😭😭😭😭 I'm done man! 😭😭😭 I literally grew up watching laughing samoans!!😭😭😭 Goodbye the only best Island entertainment I've ever seen😭😭❤❤❤❤
Yes. We didn't really appreciate how we all laugh at the same things and especially ourselves. We were invited to many islands throughout the Pacific and every single one embraced us as their own. Grateful to fly the flag for our Pacific Islander communities.
dude...no lie, we just had my brother's funeral services last week...we didn't do fa'a samoa but still had a 2 day service and there were a bajillion people in attendance!!! but...each and every one of those people knew him, personally..anyway...this skit hella made me laugh, even during this time of mourning!!! thanks tofiga and ete!!!
I'm Solomon Island and I love it. when I was received the phone call last week about him😂. When I hear he was pass away. I was happy 😂😂😂😂 These guys are so amazing!.
One of my favorite comedy sketches of all time! I would watch this with my Dad over and over again and we would laugh so hard every time. Missing my Dad's laugh today and had to watch again :) Thanks!
Thank you for this comment. Sorry to hear of your dad's passing but grateful that this brought you both so much joy. Much alofa/love to you and your aiga/family.
These guys are so amazing! They are both so very talented & clever. It really takes something special to be a comedian. Both these men seem to make it look easy which we know isn't the case. They compliment each other superbly. How special they are that they can make use of what they know. To be able to poke fun at themselves & their culture without being offensive is amazing. We all know how hard it is for some immigrants to pronounce some English words, the way that they use comedy to poke fun at the language difficulties is just priceless. If you notice that a large majority of the audience are of Pacific Island & Māori descent, how can one possibly be offended. I would not recommend that just anyone can be a comedian utilizing culture differences as their main source of material. Only these two men can pull it off beautifully. I love them. As long as I get enough notice I will always make an effort to see them live. They seriously are amazing. Continue doing what you do best guys, the world needs people like you two. Light hearted, authentic comedy that is hilarious, home grown humour that is impossible to be offended. You two are unique and there is no one who comes close to beating it. Continue to be successful. Everyone wishes you both well in every way possible.
I'm palagi..Spaniard to be exact.. .and I LOVE these two. They are so funny. I have been learning the culture from a friend... but honestly race has nothing to do with it though. These guys are naturally funny ... lol..and are two of my favorite comedians :)
One of the craziest places for us to visit was Tonga. At the beginning of our shows we'd come onto the stage to applause and cheering that grew louder and louder until we had to look at each other and decide that the only way the audience was going to stop cheering was for us to start the show. And they'd only quieten down so they could hear us talking. Lol! Malo aupito to our Tongan fans!
Being Tongan, I can honestly say that I have been to many many funerals (sadly) of people I have never met but we’re related to in some way. That part had me dying no cap
Take a bow your one of kind. Very talented your skits never gets old. You're humor an perfomance is unpredictable 🤣 Thank yous for bringing joy happiness an laughter too so many use are awesome.
Thank you Tofiga and Ete for blessing us with your talents 👏👏👏 Thank you for setting the standard for Samoan comedy and performance. God bless ❤️ Auckland, NZ
I can't help but think that all cultures can relate to this. I remember one Glasgow funeral I was at where comments were made about the deceased at the purvey afterward. pure gold!!
....so I had to pause this 3 min in because I'm surrounded by lots of ppl waiting to board a plane in DC...and just can't laugh like I need to...so dying right now...
We used to see from the stage many mixed marriage couples elbowing each other when we'd do these scenes. Samoans would bring their palagi spouses to show that it wasn't just them who suffered. Too funny!
The core of the jokes in this skit is how broken his English is, the theme being a funeral service sets up for a serious tone, and how a change of just 1 word in a sentence can mean a complete different meaning. eg "I want to send my condolences" vs "I want to send my congratulations" ....Tofiga is the man.
Sometimes the jokes are from the culture..... It is Samoan culture to morn together as family even extended family for about a week, but during that week the family who suffered the loss will have to provide a place to sleep and food for ALL the family members who traveled to the funeral it can be an extreme nuisance. I heard of stories families miss paying rent or had to barrow money just to feed their enormous extended family
I couldn't stop laughing😂😂😂 Why? is because its so so true😂😂 I'm a Torres Strait Islander from Australia and on our culture we ate just the same 😂😂😂😂😂 only our language is different but our life style is the same 😂😂😊😊 You guys are TOO GOOD DEADLY 😊😊😂😂☺☺👌
Holy shit! LMAO...it was great!! If I was the Gf and he had announced about his past failed marriage I would have looked him straight in the eye and said, " keep going and this will be your second with a funeral to follow shortly after."
OMG! I haven't laughed so much in ages! My face and sides are aching, and I laughed so much I have tears running down my face! Thanks for cheering me up while in lock down 2020!
Our families have many palagi kids and i love my nieces and nephews and thats because to us, its always about family. Our life with palagi's is our culture because they are always are a part of us.
