I am Latina and I will answer this in English. The word "usted" can be used with anyone, with one of the same age or older, that has nothing to do with it. In order to help remember by association and context, it would help to put all phrases/words that are similar or opposite 'right after one another' (most are but not all)...but in general it's very helpful, thanks!
