After quite a gap, here is the next volume in my Relaxing Train Sounds series. This is my longest volume yet, and I hope the people who wanted a longer version are happy with this.
The entire soundscape was recorded during a night journey on the 16513 Bangalore-Karwar Express. Initial sounds at speed are from the Nelamangala - Hassan - Sakleshpur section, while the much slower (and slightly muffled since I had to place the microphone inside my bag for some reason) are from the Subrahmanya Ghat descent. The train picks up speed again after the ghat section is cleared. I started recording at around 2100hrs., and my last recording was wrapped up at around 4 in the morning. There's a large variety of sounds in this at every speed from standstill to 90kph. There's also a bit of voices, insect sounds from outside, small creaking sounds from the doors and also a stationary train which we passed by near Hassan. I was in the middle of the consist so loco sounds are at a minimum.
The video is just an overlay and is a 24-minute loop of one of my older videos. There was no point wasting memory by recording video in the dark so this seemed to be the best solution. I had to save memory for something great that will come soon as the next volume in this series. :)

This asmr is really something for me..This reminds me of all the train journeys to my Nani's house...I always loved that time how I used to fight with my brother for the window seat (I still do😂)
How we struggled to settle our luggage down the seats and all those bhindi , parantha achar lunch with chai with my family
I always enjoyed to wake up early and see all those foggy feilds
How everyone murmured...Ya the toilet struggle is something we all know
From local to ac births I have witnessed it all😊
Me and my brother use to wait for the whole summer vacation just to travel by the train to our Nani's house
..Oh and because of the train constant mild shaking I felt asleep very quickly 😂
Nauchandi always made us wait for hours (Never on time)
I CHERISH ALL THESE JOURNEY.. never really travelled in an aeroplane but I can bet the train journies are the best

Thanks, Dheeraj! When I was a child or till my teenage, I used to travel to Mumbai, from Andhra. It's a 24-hour journey and I used to stay awake and enjoy the sight of city lights, highways, and tiny little lights from the window. I'm not traveling for some years. Brings my childhood memories back to me.
I know you miss the moment too when train halted at a silent platform during midnight and we would peak out of the window to look everywhere with sleepy eyes

There's nothing like that. Trains follow section speed at all times. Trains have different speed limits for night only on few special corridors where elephant movement is common.

I think so. I don't remember this set having any sudden noises.

Dheeraj ji. Thumba chennagidhe...excellent capture of the sounds and the night visuals from the seat. Almost saw the whole video. Hope I have not missed a stop at a station.. if there let me know. If not do try next time..it would be lovely to hear the train approaching the platform.. the announcements.. the passengers.. some rushing.. some waiting.. some sleeping.. on the platforms.. the chai coffee sellers.. the snacks sellers... and then slowly the horn.. the whistle.. and the train begins to move again... would love to see and hear that in your coming videos.. great job... Also do experiment with cancellation of air noise.. more crisper and detailed capture of sound.. maybe the instruments used by sound engineers during making of movies could help. just a suggestion. Thanks. I use a dedicated audio recorder for this, and there's zero wind noise in this set. The microphone was never exposed to wind. Also, as I have mentioned in the description the video is not related to the audio. It is a 24 minute loop from an older video which I used instead of a static picture. There is absolutely no point in my opinion to record a video in the dead of night and use up memory which can otherwise be used for other videos during the trip.

but what's the use of recording track-sounds in 3A? They are too muffled anyway. Also with LHB track sounds are not that audible as with ICF..

Please watch the ones available in the Playlist. I do not/cannot take specific requests. Trains are too dynamic. Maybe put on these when it's raining outside. 😊
Sleep booster
Overlaying the video is deceptive. People will think that the sound and sight are happening at the same time. Even I thought so first. At around 42:00, the train is moving but there is no sound at all. Then read some comments and the description that the video is an overlay.
I would expect people to have the sense to read the description before 'getting deceived'. There is no point putting an image overlay because the output is still a ~30fps video with each frame bring the same image. It is better to put an actual ~30fps video to accompany the audio. Recording 4 hours of video at night is a laughable waste of memory.
