  • Humayun's Tomb is the tomb of the Mughal emperor Humayun. It is situated in India's capital city New Delhi. Built with red sandstone, this monument is an excellent example of Mughal architecture incorporating three main architectural traditions: local Indo-Islamic, Islamic Persian and Central Asian, and indigenous Hindu architecture. The monument was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1993. The complex contains the main tomb of the Emperor Humayun, which also houses the graves of Empress Bega Begum, Hajji Begum, and also Dara Shikoh, great-great-grandson of Humayun and son of the later Emperor Shah Jahan and many other Mughal persons.
