Too many pros tend to abandon their YT channels, so I'm praying this one stays around. Def has a great grasp on production and what running fans *actually* wanna see in a training vid. Good stuff.
Right! I’m struggling taking much needed time off , thinking I’m going to get out of shape when in reality, my body needs rest and not miles and miles on fatigued legs.
Let's go, Clayton! Thanks for sharing the buildup with us. We were on the homestretch watching you and Conner at the trials, and couldn't be more excited for you both🏅
Trying to understand why this doesn't have even more views! I want it to blow up so Clayton and Asics will continue - and so other individuals and sponsors will want to create and grow this kind of content. So good!
Yes! Thank you! I was itching for more well produced content about your training. The raw, day to day will always keep me more invested in an athlete than any flashy short form content. Excited to see more Clayton, you have a solid team behind you
Ive got 3 pairs of Nikes and 3 pairs of Asics. Just bought the Paris metaspeeds for my next race because of the good things you've said about them as a sponsor!
First time here. Pleasure to watch the vid. Great atmosphere. I was visiting provo/ Herriman area last year and it's beautiful there. Good luck in preparation and stay healthy man
Had to stop the treddy to comment how much I liked it! Keep em’ coming! I would love a big picture break down of how the 16wk block is structured to learn a bit more the science behind it.
That park in the beginning of the video used to have an old replica of a pioneer era fort. But that park was right near the original site that the first settlers of Provo encamped at.
Hey Clayton, I’m absolutely loving these videos! Getting an inside perspective on your training is already super inspiring, but the music makes it even better! I was wondering, what’s the background music playing during the Fatigued Mile Repeats part? Keep making these videos please!
wonder if training less in carbon would have positive effect on achilles for Clayton. Carbon plated studies have shown increase strain on lower calf and achilles from coaches/physios i have listened too. Maybe rip it in the superblasts for this type of workout. still a speedy shoe.
Love that you share your training. You guys are super inspiring. Most impressed by how you can get so much sun and maintain that milky white complexion 😂 jk!! Excited to follow the build!
@@_Clayton_Young_ I easily forget there are places where it isn’t already 80 degrees and 90% humidity like it is here in Austin! Thanks for the reply and keep on rocking it man!
Good luck with the build mate! I am assuming your'e dealing with Achillies Tendinopathy? How much weight are you adding to your eccentric exercises and how often are you doing them? :)
TH-cam invited me to translate your comment to English. I guess Yayaya means "invited" in some language. Tell me your intentions you mysterious foreigner

Good stuff.
We love ASICS for believing in content like this 🤘🏼
My favorite 30 year old ASICS sponsored athlete
🤫 Don't tell Nico.
Please tell me you plan on sharing your entire training build through Olympic race day. That would be game changing content. 🤓🤩
That's the goal!
Blows my mind these guys can throw down so many multiple sub 5 minute miles . Amazing athletes.
As a masters runner now, it blows my mind as well!! Even when I was his age like wow!!
Thanks for being so open with everything, it was the pep talk my achilles needed
Of course. I feel yah! Those Achilles are so stubborn.
Right! I’m struggling taking much needed time off , thinking I’m going to get out of shape when in reality, my body needs rest and not miles and miles on fatigued legs.
"I don't want Conner going faster than 5"
Conner proceeds to zoom way faster than 5 immediately after starting
Pros are just like us fr
Love this series! Will be following along every step of the way. Rooting for you Clayton and please stay healthy!!
Thank you. Will do!
Let's go, Clayton! Thanks for sharing the buildup with us. We were on the homestretch watching you and Conner at the trials, and couldn't be more excited for you both🏅
So cool. Can we get a repeat?

So happy you started a channel! 🎉🎉🎉
More to come!

Your welcome! Being this vulnerable with so much on the line and an unknown outcome can be tricky. But it will be worth it.
Usually I hate having music with training footage, but the music playing in the background during training really matches up well!
Hard to beat Utah County road/trail network. Proud of you dudes! Thanks for the content.
Love seeing adam wood cameo during the long run
Keep it up, Clayton!
I love the little family dinner part. Ashley is an angel on earth!
You're so sweet! 🫶🏼
Amen!
Arguably the glue that’s holding everything together
Ashley is such a wonderful woman. So glad you have her, Clayton!
Yes! This is amazing content, thanks for sharing Clayton! Cant wait to follow the build to Paris! Coach's insights are a welcome watch too
Just came here because of a recommendation from the sagasu running channel. Really enjoyed the first episode and already subscribed 👍
Clayton showing us his road to Paris, I'm all for it!
Ive got 3 pairs of Nikes and 3 pairs of Asics. Just bought the Paris metaspeeds for my next race because of the good things you've said about them as a sponsor!
Nice! I think they are pretty speedy. 😏
So fun to see and watch! Clayton is such an amazing individual 😊
Very cool to see an Olympic runner share his training progress. Keep up the good work.
Babe wake up clayton young dropped a youtube video
SO COOL! Thanks for these videos. Such an inspiration to get us runners pumped up!
watching the whole series again from the start after the olympics. Following Connor and Clayton made it so much more enjoyable to watch. Big ups!
Love it, love how you feature all the athletes in the training group, regardless of sponsor, while still highlighting the ASICS athlete. Well done
Wow Clayton Young on TH-cam not on my bingo card this year but here for it.

It's become a great place to train! You'll have to come back and try them out.
@@_Clayton_Young_ Most likely on my bike! My running is not so good now.
This video was beautifully produced! Loved the Adam cameo. Super excited to see the rest leading up to Paris!

Loooove this video!! It’s just sooo good!! It makes me so happy and a bit emotional watching your journey! Thank you for sharing.
Kudos to Andrew for those visuals. I’ve rarely seen such deep colors and dynamic range on TH-cam. Let alone running TH-cam.
Yes, he makes the magic happen.
Great stuff Clayton! Keep getting after it! Go Clayton and Conner! Go USA!
Loved this video! Can’t wait for more. USA 🇺🇸
I was rooting for you at the trials, you and Connor are so inspiring to me as a distance athlete. You got this buildup on lock! 🔐
This is awesome! Looking forward to following along. This is the kind of running content I love to see ♥️
Awesome video!! I’m excited to follow your journey to the Olympics!
Get this man a cup of coffee, he sounds so tired in these morning sessions 😜
I’m trying my best to get them a sip of coffee
😂😂😂
That park in the beginning of the video used to have an old replica of a pioneer era fort. But that park was right near the original site that the first settlers of Provo encamped at.
This is really good stuff, man! Excited to follow along!

Thanks! Its called The Labyrinth by DaniHaDani.
Loved your video 😃👍🏃♂️.. . Just subscribed to your channel 👍👍. Looking forward to more, and I see where Utah is the #1 State in the US to live in.

Great stuff
So excited to follow along especially since I was in Orlando screaming at you on the course. You guys looked great at 8, 16 and finally 24!!
Thanks for cheering us on! 🙌🏼
@@_Clayton_Young_ don’t let the slow start to this build get you down. Your not alone. I appreciate the transparency in your TH-cam video
Love the video! What do you and Conner think of the Paris marathon route? Do you think that hilly middle section plays to your strengths?
Heat, humidity, and hills. I think it will level the playing field and we will prepare better than most. Bring it on, baby.
smashed it! i need to know what's the music playing behind the fatigued mile repeats?
Clayton is me fr: “We’re way fast, chill out.” I’m the old man on the mountain on the farm team always saying that 😂
Let’s go!!!
wonder if training less in carbon would have positive effect on achilles for Clayton. Carbon plated studies have shown increase strain on lower calf and achilles from coaches/physios i have listened too. Maybe rip it in the superblasts for this type of workout. still a speedy shoe.
I remember running at that Utah Lake Park
Would like to see more from your first view action cam🎉
Man this coach seems so great, I sure miss being apart of a team
Agreed!
Love that you share your training. You guys are super inspiring. Most impressed by how you can get so much sun and maintain that milky white complexion 😂 jk!! Excited to follow the build!
Haha, valid. That was my first shirtless run of the year. Doesn't help that it snowed in Utah again this week! 🥶
@@_Clayton_Young_ I easily forget there are places where it isn’t already 80 degrees and 90% humidity like it is here in Austin! Thanks for the reply and keep on rocking it man!
What watch are you using ⌚️
COROS Apex 2 Pro. Still waiting on that ⌚ sponsorship...
The American King 🙏
Would love a video focusing on your daily and training nutrition?
Agreed. Hopefully soon!
Surely I'm not the only one zooming in on the shoes and obesssing over which ones are worn each run 😂
Check out the description for shoe details. :)
Cool to see Adam wood in here lol
The big three 🤘🏼
1:46 - what injury does ur training buddy have?
He was coming back from a strained quad muscle, but he is 100% now. 👍
Good luck with the build mate! I am assuming your'e dealing with Achillies Tendinopathy? How much weight are you adding to your eccentric exercises and how often are you doing them? :)
Great question and recommendation. We have slowly transitioned from eccentrics to concentrics with more weight.
tooo fire
Video production quality is 🤌🏼
production is epic
This was posted 4 days ago but what is the date the video was taken? Thanks!
Saw 107 to Paris so can figure that out. Thanks
The weekly dates are on the intro slide! Episode 1 was April 21-27th.
