I really like this kind of defensive tactics, these works well in real time but I don't know if it's due to the software of the game, but defense tactics don't work very well. But unlike most people, I like these tactics.
I don't usually comment on videos, but man, you are killing it once again. A fantastic video. Thanks a lot for the explanation and analysis, I love how you don't over complicate things, it helps simple FM players like myself to understand the ifs, whys, and buts of things. Simeone is controversial, but we can't deny he's one of the greatest tactical managers of our era, and this does him complete justice.
Another great tactic.. I'm currently using this tactic for my Arsenal save in fm21 and so far look unbeatable.. The counter attacking is deadly.. It's beautiful to watch.. The role of CWB(Saka) is on another level no team can cope with it..
I beat Barcelona with this tactics as a manager of Mallorca ! I've had been struggled to structure defensive formation for away games but I finaly found it ! Thanks !
amazingly, i have been using a similar set up with Pro Vercelli. initially was trying to use very italian roles as a theme (Libero, Regista, Carrilero, Mezzala and Trequartista), but it was inconsistent. the team instructions are very similar, except I counter attack and don't get stuck in. Roles wise, I us a TF on attack and a DLF on support up front, with a DLP on defend in the middle. Probably as close as you're going to get to a modern version of catenaccio, something I've been trying to get working for a long time
Hi RDF can you try do Roger Schmidt tactic? Hes currently on psv and coming to benfica , he uses a very agressive gegenpress with a very offensive attack
I really like this tactic, the most amongst the recent ones (the video no, i like them all). Not that it's my style, but man, you captured Simeone's style completely. That defensive work is hard to achieve. Dare to play a showdown this way?
hey rdf,can you make a tactic that utilize players like messi or ozil that can make a lot of score and assist? btw thank you for all of your analyst videos it really helps me out
I'm playing as Aston villa coach and was against Manchester city in the Carabou cup semi final. this tactic worked very well as, in the first half i played this tactic and then for the second half switched to your xavi/barcelona tactic i won on penalties 8-9. would recommend to do this against hard teams.
Great tactic my G, was struggling hard in prem used these tactics in second part of season as brentford and smashed it... barely conceded any goal even vs the big 6
I did win with a 5-5-0 before lol. 3 central defenders and 2 full backs all defensive. Two inverted wingers on attack. For midfield, 1 Ball Winning on defend, 1 Box-to-Box on support, 1 Advance Playmaker on attack. 😂
Great tactic RDF. I think any tactic will do well if you have pacey front men to run in behind the defence. It will be interesting if you did a video about match analysis and go through the main parts to know if your tactic is working or not and what to do to correct it if necessary. I liked the part of this video where you explained the analysis against Barca and what the different data showed you what you were doing right. Then, maybe I can look at my data for my team and work out why I am not breaking a team down.
Started using a modded version (centre CM to DM and false 9 to DLF) with my Slovakia save promoted to Div 1 worse team in the division first game drew at home to Streda second beat Ruzombrok it works
Hey RDF, want to give you great advice from my exp : When your team down 0-1 at half time and you see many of your players perform well actually (7.00 rating or above, or better Xg), you should tell your boys they're unlucky at dressing room with no tactical changes. I experienced many comeback wins in similar situations. ✨
Team Talk is extremely effective. Especially when your team plays shit and ask you them to put their heart into it. Worked well for my Benfica team and I was using RDF's Burnley 4-4-2 tactic against Chelsea. Were trailing 1-0 but won 3-1 without any tactic change.
Great video again, would you recommend this tactic for Derby County season 1 in championship? I need something new the game is starting to get used to my current tactic
@@chikennuget3634 right good call, although the takeover has gone through and I have signed a couple loan deals, I now have around 4/5 players who can play centre back
@@huey84uk the WCBs have to be very good on the ball for 3atb to be effective at attacking, so it really depends tbh. if they are not, then you are better off having more players further up field (perhaps a 4-3-3 with a half back at DM? similar shape to 3atb)
In a minority, but I love Simeone and the tactics. Not actually a fan of defensive managers: the Benitez and Mourinho era was not my cup of tea. This is a great video, very intelligent insights. As a local to Stoke, (not a Stoke fan) no one can beat the "Pulisball" match where Stoke won 2-1 away at Newcastle with 1 shot on target 😀
Your team need time to assimilate a tactic. Give it time, work on this at friendlies in pre season and you should be fine. Don’t expect everything to just work right away
Yep this tactic doesnt work. I used it with my Sheffield side (2026 so back in the Prem) have 3 very tall CB’s and still conceding every header from players with 5 Jumping reach. As far as attacking goes i can create shit (i have Sesko and a really good F9) scoring only 50 goals a season ( i was predicted to finish 9th) and finished 12th. For some reason defensive tactics dont work in this game
I had a go before I did this one haha but this one kept getting requested. Will certainly watching the RBL/BVB game again and work on the tactic again.
Please go back to 3D when showing how play works, 2D is less followable than 3D. As in it’s just a bunch of circles and there’s less context in where i should be looking.
I think it’s quite the opposite. People creating tactics use and prefer 2D as you can you see the full pitch and analysis movements. 3D, you don’t gain anything + I’m not a fan of the animations
@@RDFTactics I’m not a fan of the animations either lol, i guess to me 3D is just easier to follow, it’s all down to preference, its something i can get used to 👍🏼

You should do a vid on set piece tactics

Very good shout that! And Patrick Vieira too

Brilliant video mate. That Real Madrid game was the tactic executed to perfection. Definitely going to be using a variation of these 👍

Nice tactic bro, I'd like to see a new Emery Villareal tactic because I think it has changed a little bit since last time you did one for Newcastle

Maaan this tactic is better than I expected I just beat 4-0 Liverpool in the final with Man United after losing 6-3 to them earlier this season !! 🔥
what length of field do you use for this tactic?

they don't have enough center backs for this, you're probably better off playing 4231

And as always great video.
Make Conte tactics, interesting. Like your videos!
Will Pressing forwards or deep lying forwards be the same as false 9
Do you use any opposition instructions?
would love to see a russell martin at swansea tactic!!
can you do mouriho's park the bus tactic in the inter?
