Now this is how you do a weather-beaten '90s domestic sled... forget shaved bays and triple-redundant sensors, just bung in a good-sized turbo and bypass anything the stock ECU won't like to see.
@@olkasbrix The availability of E85 coupled with the V8 crowds acceptance of turbocharging has really pushed what can be done by the average enthusiast forward. They didn't I think he's referring to the suspension when he says relatively standard. No Holden has ever been produced standard with a Ford 9 inch diff.
I understand that people go 2/3spd for the times and strength But is there, legitimately, a 5/6spd H box that can handle 1000+hp without being ‘built’?
@@fullboost obviously, but it seems the "street car" term is getting stretched more and more all the time, maybe it's down to the street outlaws, it seems the main fast cars that still "look" some where near stock is the barra's #barrage
@@fullboost Well..... The choice is either you can do 9 seconds in a 720S for $400,000 or according to California CARB about the most power you can make and still remain 50 State Legal is about 500-600 starting with a Mustang or LX Car (300, Dodge Charger, Challenger) , bolting up a Kenne-Bell Supercharger, stock cats, upgraded headers that don't move the stock h-pipe location and good cat-back. With suspension maybe high 10's for $50K? Years ago we had a class that you had to be 50 State legal and pass a smog test as a part of the competition. E85 conversion are not 50 State legal either. If you live in more lenient state you can get away with more obviously but following the rules and enforcement are two different things. There is a grey area in CA Emissions laws that a new car purchased new doesn't have to be smog tested for seven years. That might change in the near future but as of now that is the case, so unless your caught doing something stupid (revving engines, burnouts, street racing, donuts in parking lots, etc, etc) CHP will generally leave you alone.
@@lsx4276 Don't understand your point? If you bolt-on a turbo large enough to really take advantage of then 50 psi on a Barra is over 1,000 hp. Almost anybody can drop a V8 into something, boost it and go single digits. I'm shocked more don't do it. Maybe variety is the spice of life and others just don't want to copy what somebody else is done you usually end up with the same result.

How fast is that red 180 (correct me if im wrong) in that last race. The vn doing low 8s and that red thing smoked it
2JZ S13 runs 145mph in the 1/8th very fast car. Jason overpowered the tyres on that run and ran a 9, but that's racing 👍
@@fullboost bloody 2jzs are lightning fast. And in a car that is no heavier than a go kart lol

Whoa RHD F150 Harley Davidson (Lightning) at 1:25 in the background
Noticed it myself looks mint 👌
Tony92x my guess is it’s been converted to RHD because I don’t believe Ford built them RHD
There are quite a few converted F-series in Oz 👍 The Ram is selling very well here atm.
Fullboost that’s amazing, I can only imagine the price
Gee thats fast

I wonder if he’ll crop the fullboost watermark..

When are you going to drop the full video for this event?
When we edit it...
Quality over quantity any day :P
Just going down the shops to get some milk
Is it possible to put a turbo in a 2003 vy ss Holden Commodore, and if you can would it chew more fuel?
depends how big the turbo is and if you can lift it into the boot
Can’t be serious mate...
Time on that pass you cut off early ? better than the 8.2 ?
Yeah, want to know as well, could hear people cheering, was that for the win, or coz he hit 7s?
That was an 1/8th mile race with the 2JZ Silvia. Silvia just got him.
Definitely not the old mang mang that it resembles
The turbo needed an engine. 😂
Well it doesn’t run without one lol 😂

I didn't realise vns come out with a 9inch

They didnt come with an ls or powerglide either lol he meant suspension was mostly stock

Rpm in america Do have h-pattern t56s to handle power. Obviously not a standard boxes thou.
#streetcar lol, what actually counts as a street car these days? Certainly doesn't need to be any where near legal by look of it.
Not too many 'legal' street cars trapping 170+ in reality...

All those liters and cylinders to run just an 8.2 :L BARRA is king
The car went 8.0 the week before. Consdering he's knocking on the door of a 7 in a street car, it's quite an achievement.
Just an 8.2 lol .
I love my barras, but credit where it's due. That is a very impressive ls
