equestria girls is cannon b, the show is cannon a, this means what happens in the show effects the films, but what happens in the films doesn't effect the show Long overdue edit: with the sirens appearing in the season 7 finale and Sunset being included in the final episode, Equestria Girls is fully cannon with no room for debate. To be honest I think this is how it should have been from the start

Excellent Season Finale. Its amazing how they managed to save a pony from a terrible friend & brought her together as a friend. Excellent reaction. Really enjoyed it.
Also, the way I see it, Starlight's cutie mark experience happened to her when she was a child. Children are _very_ impressionable and I think it warped her perception of things, thus leading to the extremes she eventually strove towards. Yeah, I'm grasping a bit here, but I think that in a pony kind of world... well, seeing a cutie mark destroy your literal _only_ friendship might just mess you up quite a bit as a child. It only seems weak until you take child psychology into account. Kids are weird. They take everything harsher than we do as adults, mostly because they lack the perspective that we have gained from experience. So, if that's all that you have to go on, it's honestly not hard to see how she might have begun her "start of darkness" as it were. Again, I'm grasping, but hey, I love theorizing about this stuff. It's too much fun to ignore. Besides, I like where they've gone with her anyway, so dwelling on one thing (her origin) would detract from where I see her now, which I quite like. I've gone on long enough. 'Nother beer.
Wait... does this mean Nightmare Moon is actually more powerful than Celestia? Celestia needed the elements of harmony to banish her to the moon but I don't think Nightmare Moon could use the elements as she is. She'd have lost her connection to them when she turned, wouldn't she?
Grandfather Paradox: Starlight's plan is one, since if the Rainboom never happened, the Mane Six couldn't have beaten her to trigger her revenge plan in the first place.
It was mainly towards Twilight's group since that's who she was against but she would have also felt the same way towards the CMC. But the CMC didn't do anything against her.
I know the movie was after this....buut maybe the last future is where the storm King Won and destroyed Equestria just like what they did with the hippogriffs
Have you considered reacting to fan made content? You could start by reacting to Scootertrix the abridged. It's not quite like any other abridged series you've ever seen before. It has such a unique take on the hole thing. If you like the sound of mangos, spaghetti noodles, The Bird, trolling Celestia, and being one with the Forth, then you will LOVE it

Season 5 is definitely my favorite season of the entire show, with only a few episodes that I didn't like the rest of the episodes are amazing, and the season finale is my favorite, while I do hope we see Starlight Glimmer I don't want her to be a mane seven as many people are speculating, maybe something like Zecora is? But in a few more episodes? Just not added right into the mane six, but that's my personal opinion. I'm perfectly fine with them redeeming Starlight, I mean it is My Little Pony Friendship is Magic, I'm pretty much used to them redeeming characters, I just don't want her to be added to the mane six. Again just my own thoughts. Great reaction can't wait for season 6! :)

Honestly that was the only reason I watched this was to see ya'll's reactions to the timelines and ending mostly. Overall this finale was okay, but just meh because of the set up. I gotta say of all the powerful enemies i think starlight was the most powerful. i mean sunset was pretrty powerful but even she cant hold a hoof to starlight. She could beaten by mane 6 with elements of harmony, but anyway her greatest strength is also her weakness: the more intense (and negative) are her emotions so is her magic, but with that power comes lack of control and foresight. She planned a batman gambit (taking huge risks as plan because she knows all too well the enemy 's behaviour), but in her thirst for vengeance and comeuppance (and also her overblown ego about not special ponies) she didn't think about possible disasters in the timeline, only the vision of worst future from Twilight and offering of friendship defeated her, not magic power or deus ex machina like during Tirek battle or Chrysalis. The only drawback of this character (my favourite after Princess Luna ofc) is that was granted a too quick pardon in the 5 season final by her fellows in Our Town village, sure the authors succesfully improve her character evolution by making her a social wreck and guilt ridden atoner for whole season 6 with her epiphany during season 6 finale but that S5 flaw must IMHO be 'improved' in some ways in season 9
