One of the best. This was such an amazing group that transcended time and space with their soundscapes. Once you're bitten, you can never go back.

Love this music group. So exciting! Industrial music is a realm of freedom.

When compared to so much ambient/drone/post-whatever stuff put out today, that it is not even a bland repetition of stuff done in the '80s and '90s by the true pioneers.... Much more daring and experimental.

I’m not sure how long you had this uploaded for but a million thanks. New music by Zoviet France turns my vilest day to joy. Want to talk about post rock ? To me, this is exactly what I’d hoped post rock would sound like and it should. This band has left traditional rock music so far behind that it’s barely related. Also for anyone who really wants to immerse themselves in how unusual and unique music can be (and is if you know where to look) Zoviet France are an ideal place to start. Then check out everything else on this channel because it’s one of the best.

I love their Duck in a Tree series. They recruit the finest spiral architects of ambience!

I think what some call "electroacoustic post-rock" is what you were looking for in mainstream post-rock.

@@ionescuflorin7307 It could very well be. Predictable chord changes and rhythm aren't what I was hoping for when I heard the term 'post rock'. I think you may be close to what I was hoping for though I don't know the exact definition of electroacoustic. I have l listened to any of it I can find. I especially like Iannis Xenakis. I don't know the first thing about music theory but that kind of bedlam combined with stale old rock is exactly what I'd like to hear. Zoviet France absolutely nail it imo.

*zoviet~france* predates "post-rock" by at least a decade. Their origins are in industrial music, and not "rock".

Some of this is so Muslimgauze before Muslimgauze, except Muslimgauze was already getting started.
