- Hi friends! Y’all requested longer vlogs, so I hope you enjoy this one! You get to see a tour of our new house that we’re building, see details of what we envision for the space, aaand I try my hand at making homemade boba for the first time (would do again!!). Also, who else is an OG My Chemical Romance fan? LOL I may or may not have “cried” in this vlog. Anyways, enjoy this slice of life kinda vlog.

We used to use our formal dining room as a coffee shop type area. I had a couch and a buffet with my coffee stuff. It was so nice to relax there.

Just a quick not about those glass & steel doors you mentioned - glass is really tough acoustically. It's hard to sound dampen, so what you say will leak out into the house, and very echo-y because it's a hard surface, so sound bounces right off it it. If you're planning to film all your TH-cam videos in there you might want to take that into consideration and get some sound dampening curtains, instead of plain ones. Maybe some sound panels for your ceiling too. Glass can also interfere with wifi/cell service because it doesn't pass through very well, so having a router/extender/repeater will probably be necessary too.
I used to be an operations manager for real estate and glass doors/walls in conference rooms was the bain of my experience because of these issues I just mentioned.

We can do floor planning, help curate rooms, help with flow, help find the best fabrics/materials that are pet friendly, etc. You can either stop in to your Austin showroom or book a consultation online. They are hour long sessions via Zoom or in-store. They are 100% free, we only use our merchandise to furnish & style your rooms. 2) Our lead times are June-August for anything upholstered. Most of our products are made over seas so there are long wait times. Every day that you wait to order you can easily add a week-a month for delivery etas. 3) You should always order either in store or over the phone with your Austin showroom because that way if you have any issues you can have a real life person advocate for you instead of you just calling customer service for issues. By placing the order with your local showroom it supports that location & its employees vs. just buying it online.

I have my “dining space” as a reading area. Large wall of bookshelves, a comfortable chair with ottoman and a random stationary bike (only gym equipment we have) and a small corner for a craft table

Depending on the direction of light your dining room will get and whether you can adjust things like creating larger windows and/or putting in skylights, I'd say make it into a sunroom. Since you're a sun lover you may be happy to have a space to enjoy the sun as if you're outside all year round.
Loved this video. Your house is coming together so beautifully! Such high ceilings!! “Coffee shop/reading vibes” is super cute idea, but depends on overall aesthetic/tone. Like there’s people who are super into large art pieces or records players/dancing/cocktails foyer room. Anyway, you’re a couple with great taste - so no doubt it’ll come out fabulous!

Love seeing your house in process! I consult for apartment buildings and I love looking at the framing and guessing how things will look at the end. Over here in Seattle most houses just have a single dinning room/dinning area within the kitchen area, didn’t know it was common to have a formal dinning area in addition to a dinning table in the kitchen area. I always dream about having a reading/ relaxing room, where there’s no TV and I can just read, journal, enjoy my morning coffee, and do yoga.
I like the idea of a relaxation room!

The house we lived in when I was younger had a formal dinning room area that we had as a reading area. 😊 It had 2 large comfy chairs with ottomans and book cases along with an area for our sound system and a stand for our home phone (before cell phones were mainstream lol) 😂

growing up we had "sitting room" in the formal dining area. that was just a place to chat without a tv in the room. It's also where my brother learned the piano, so I'm sure it'll evolve if you choose to grow your fam. All that said, I would totally do a reading nook if it was my home! Happy Home Making!

How about making a plant wall in that area and add in a reading nook with a window seat/bench. As for butternut squash soup, its best to make your own from scratch. Its amazing when its fresh. And a thumbs up for West Elm! Fair Trade AND eco - friendly :)

Also I watched if you videos of yours and you are mentioning the Tmj problem. I had the same thing. The culprit for me was caffeine. Any kind of caffeine anything from black tea green tea Matcha coffee and chocolate! Fyi my friend also had the same experience, she didn’t want to give up the coffee too, but we did and its gone.
You could make it another sitting room/living room. When I was a kid my mom made our dining room into another living room because the other one was where my dad would watch the news after work and my four siblings and I would want to be playing nintendo 64 or watching movies together then. If you decide to grow your family, that extra space is soo valuable :)

@@julesacree Exterior's wall are in "block" of concrete and for interior's wall is pieces of metal instead pieces of wood. I never thought speak about this in English 😂

If you have any tips on keeping up with dog hair, I'd love to hear them. It's the bane of my existence. With 2 labs, I feel like I can never avoid having little piles of hair gather everywhere each day :(
Also, did you get the matching pants to that Oak + Fort ribbed sweater? If so, what size did you get, if I may ask? I'm short (5'1") so I'm trying to figure out if it makes any sense for me to get them lol
Honestly we struggle with it too. We just vacuum a lotttt and clean off surfaces every day but the hair is always here
And for the sweater and pants I got an XS - I’m 5’3 and it fits perfectly with my chunky sneakers
