Aside from the capaign the game doesn't skip a beat in other modes, it has classic, all star (unlike Ultimate), break the tagets (unlike Ultimate and Smash 4), boss battles, home run contest, coin launcher, multi man brawl, stage builder and event matches. It's insulting that they claim it lacks single player content when to this day it's the Smash game with the best single player experience.

Yes, it's very limited in features but at least it exists, and there's no way in hell that world of light is better than subspace emissary. Subspace emissary is an actual story mode, with very well animated and thought out cutscenes. It's actually the only game aside from early lego games that imo manage to convey an interesting albeit simple storyline without dialogue or text. The level design is also decent and while Smash characters don't control very well in a 2D platformer-like setting, it's still a lot better than what world of light is, a lazy mode where all the challenge is artificially created by stupid spirits and has not even close to a tenth of the effort put into it that subspace has.
Except no it isn't. There's plenty of games where that's a part of the game. Planescape: Torment. Shadow of Mordor. A lot of Roguelikes. Pathologic. The Nonary Games trilogy. A number of Soulslikes.

Why do ALL of the various gamers on TH-cam say that the Yoshi games are too easy? I've never had the coordination to play the fast paced games and really enjoy the more relaxed pace of the Yoshi games. Just because reviewers think they are easy doesn't mean everybody does.
It kind of shows how a lot of critics value flashy new features that grab your attention, instead of actual quality game design. Black 2 and White 2 are superior in almost every way, but XY have a higher rating just because of 3D models and mega evolutions.
Not too surprised XY was the highest rating despite being considered one of the easiest titles in the series. It was the first main line game to venture Pokémon into the 3-D realm which was revolutionary at the time. It was also the first game to be released worldwide simultaneously which again was a first in the series. It also introduce a gimmick that changed up the game in a significant way in Mega Evolution, something still held on high regard to this day
It hurts me to see that Star Fox Assault is the lowest in the series. Yes the ground levels are pretty bad with the pacing but everything else about it is fun and I have good memories of playing the multiplayer with my dad and brother. If only they somehow made adjustmest to some of the movement on the ground better and other similar stuff than it would have been received better.
Still can't believe Zero got better scores than Assault. Not to mention Command. Also hope to see the Advance Wars series get mentioned on this channel on a regular basis someday.
@@kylewood4488-b9r Assault was actually playable. For the on-foot sections, using a different control scheme more akin to a third/first person shooter makes the experience a lot better. I can't say anything can redeem Zero's control scheme.
@@RainingMetal You can use the minus button on the gamepad to put the cockpit view to the TV screen, so you're not forced to use the two screens. You also have the option of turning the controls on or off in the pause menu.
As a Fire Emblem Fan, let me say that while it's nice that Awakening is our top rated game by critics, it's usually not at the top of the list of best games in the franchise as critiqued by fans. On the other hand, the first game is almost universally panned because there's a remake of it that was released on the DS in 2008.

Brawl definitely deserves to be the best smash game. I’m only 16 but I remember when it came out it was around my birthday and I used my money I got for it to go to toys r us to get it and playing hours and hours with my brother and his friends
Its extremely surprising that Epic Yarn is the highest rated Kirby Game and even more so that its technically tied with Canvas Curse. I dont think anyone has either of those as there favorite Kirby game. Canvas Curse especially is forgotten about by the vast majority of Kirby Fans
Super Circuit was a fun game for what it was. Are there better entries in the series? Sure, but for a Mario Kart on the GBA it wax great. It was like the original game on steroids, and only the 3rd MK game ever at that point. It definitely needs to be judged for the era and system it released on.
I'm going to say this and I'm going to say you cannot break something as complicated as a video game down into a something as simple as a number. And numbered review systems need to die, they are outdated, they are antiquated, they are confusing and not a good representation for how good something actually really is. All I need to know is the positives and negatives you break it down into a score you cheapen something's actual overall quality.

XY being one of the better reviewed games surprised me, I came back to Pokemon after I stopped playing with RSE. I had fun with XY and like the 3D graphics and the Megas as well. It surprises me the BW/BW2 weren't the better reviewed games. I don't know why but appararently BW/BW2 didnt sell very well not giving a whole lot of people the chance to review it.
Ironic that the highest rated Kirby game isn't a Kirby game... (For those who don't know, besides the obvious lack of Kirby mechanics, Epic Yarn was originally going to be a 'Prince Fluff' game and Kirby was slapped on the title. Love how it turned out though. Second favorite game of all time.)
Just how do games like Super Mario Run and Sticker Star have higher scores than Kirby Star Allies 🤦🏻? It is obvious to me that any game with Mario’s name on it just gets good reviews by default. Those are two of the worst games that Nintendo has ever made while Star Allies is certainly passable. Critics are so strange sometimes.

It’s important to note that Zero Mission also allowed you to play the original Metroid once you beat it, so it made the NES Classic version kind of useless.

With his other videos I didn't like their exclusion, but for this video it's understandable. Those series only have 3-4 games, so it wouldn't be very interesting. There's just not that many games to be considered.
I never realized Animal Crossing: New Horizons got review bombed so badly. The criticisms aren't wrong: They're completely valid, and I agree with the sentiment that multiplayer and the "one island per system" decisions weren't good. But overall Nintendo did a lot right, and it's still a very good game.
The original legend of Zelda or Zelda 2 the adventure of Link should be lowest. Thinking back to your to worst game in their franchise when you pick Skyward Sword was ridiculous, But this one make it better.

I've seen several of these every Nintendo franchise videos and you keep forgetting to include the Punch-Out franchise. This is a HUGE mistake, and can be fixed by covering all the previous video topics as they relate to Punch-Out. Highest and lowest rated Punch-Out games, worst game over in a Punch-Out game, Punch-Out glitches, etc. No Nintendo centric TH-cam channel is allowed to ignore the Punch-Out franchise, I refuse to let you.
If you ask me Smash 64 is an okay game and great for it's time but every Smash Bros game after it took what made it good and added to it and comparing 64 to the others is like comparing Mario 1 to Mario 3 or most Pokemon games to their remakes.
I use a rating site myself, and review bombing and bots are almost always used on new popular games for the audience score to lower it, that’s why new horizons has a low audience score
I grew up playing Mario Kart. I own every one of them except Double Dash. I like Mario Kart: World Tour, but I agree that it is definitely the worst of the franchise. I like it more because it is Mario Kart on my phone. I can play it anywhere and I can use the thing I have with me anyways. It is definitely not perfect, and is definitely P2W. The multiplayer is also super super laggy and buggy. You can hit someone with an item and they spin, but suddenly just appear ahead of you like they didn't even get hit. I definitely want a true Mario Kart mobile, but I kind of have to just settle for this for now.
I was born in 2009 so I didn't play the og oot but I played the 3D remake and I absolutely love it I'm at the end of jabu jabu and I'm Gonna play it to the end I love everything about it EDIT: I'm playing on 3DS I started in early 2021 and love the characters,bosses,dungeons and controls I'm on my 6th playthough of botw and late into alttp on my mini SNES even in 1992. Zelda was AMAZING. I'm so hyped for botw2
ngl i thought hgss would be the highest ranked pokémon game and not xy but okay... while gen 6 was the first gen i played, it's so painfully easy with forgettable rivals, a laughable villainous team, and the game kind of forces you to use the exp share which overlevels your pokémon easily. but kalos is such a beautiful region and it revolutionized the series with 3d graphics, so i guess it was great on its own. just that hgss literally made two already beloved games better and made johto feel much more alive as a region with added lore, areas and character roles expanded upon, and great worldbuilding that was the epitome of pokémon as its peak. also brawl has the best single-player mode in any smash game in the form of the subspace emissary. gameplay may be repetitive at times but it's mostly fun with all of the different levels, and seeing all of these nintendo characters come together left me in awe as a young child. it's an upgrade from adventure mode in melee, and while some other single-player modes have been downgraded (eg. break the targets where there's five boring levels instead of a unique one for each character), to call it lacking and even bad is laughable. if you're going to criticize brawl for anything then that's going to have to lean more towards the competitive side with the removal of popular techniques in melee such as wavedashing, stupid gimmicks (who thought random tripping was a good idea?), slow physics that served as the antithesis to melee's fast-paced and arguably more fun gameplay, and barely any balance in the characters. meta knight is so op he has an entire tier to himself. you can argue that the game tries to appeal to beginners but the fighting gameplay becomes tedious and meta knight is all you need to win most of the time. they also added some kind of unnecessary stuff like chronicles (why would i want to read about all the games released on nintendo consoles on a smash game?), masterpieces, and stickers that are only good on subspace emissary, but in all honesty i never used them because i had no idea i could. but despite all of that i grew up with brawl and it is a game i feel very nostalgic towards. it hasn't really aged well like some other games but it is still a very great game.
“Sticker star is too easy” 2 words: GOOPER BLOOPER. He’s nigh impossible to beat without the sponge. It’s in 3-9, easy to miss and blends in with the background. Also his attacks do poison! Oh yeah. Not only does it absorb the poison, it spits back out the poison at the blooper, and it also is weak to it! Kersti doesn’t tell you about the sponge until you already have it! And god forbid you use the sponge too early, otherwise you might as well not have even got it!
I’m going to be honest, Mario Kart Tour is one of my favorite Mario kart games. I’m a free to play player, and I’m still doing fine. I totally understand why people don’t like it, but it uses very little data so I can play it basically anywhere, and since the tours change every other week, there’s always a reason to come back to it imo.
My favourite Mario games are super Mario bros for the DS. The Mario party series and Mario kart 7 on the 3ds and Nintendo dS. I also enjoyed super Mario 3d land
I too was very fond of double dash. I wish that they brought it back because it stirred up the series and made chosing characters matter more. I normally would never play as the baby characters but I would always choose one of them in double dash because of the weight and the chain chomp item.
Yeah I don't think that Metacritic has very accurate ratings. Most people I hear from say that gen 3, 4 or 5 are the best games. I can agree that gen 3 was really good with the storytelling, very high quality pixel art and music. I haven't played gen 4 or 5 so I can't really vouch for those. The only thing that stood out for X and Y was the move to 3D models and Megas. The gameplay was fairly easy and it had the least amount of new Pokemon added. 1 good thing that came from it though was the online which made it incredibly easy to find friends and people to battle and trade with. I would easily trade the gen 7 and 8 online connectivity for it to come back.

Its extremely surprising that Epic Yarn is the highest rated Kirby Game and even more so that its technically tied with Canvas Curse. I dont think anyone has either of those as there favorite Kirby game. Canvas Curse especially is forgotten about by the vast majority of Kirby Fans

As a member of the younger audience, even after playing BOTW, Ocarina of Time still blows me away.
Super Circuit was a fun game for what it was. Are there better entries in the series? Sure, but for a Mario Kart on the GBA it wax great. It was like the original game on steroids, and only the 3rd MK game ever at that point. It definitely needs to be judged for the era and system it released on.
I have been hearing that Mario Kart Wii is the best in the series because of how easy it is to mod.

I'm going to say this and I'm going to say you cannot break something as complicated as a video game down into a something as simple as a number. And numbered review systems need to die, they are outdated, they are antiquated, they are confusing and not a good representation for how good something actually really is. All I need to know is the positives and negatives you break it down into a score you cheapen something's actual overall quality.

Those Brawl Critics are kinda stupid. Multiplayer was slow, limited, and unpolished. Subspace was GOD TIER
XY being one of the better reviewed games surprised me, I came back to Pokemon after I stopped playing with RSE. I had fun with XY and like the 3D graphics and the Megas as well. It surprises me the BW/BW2 weren't the better reviewed games. I don't know why but appararently BW/BW2 didnt sell very well not giving a whole lot of people the chance to review it.
Ironic that the highest rated Kirby game isn't a Kirby game...
(For those who don't know, besides the obvious lack of Kirby mechanics, Epic Yarn was originally going to be a 'Prince Fluff' game and Kirby was slapped on the title. Love how it turned out though. Second favorite game of all time.)

Just how do games like Super Mario Run and Sticker Star have higher scores than Kirby Star Allies 🤦🏻? It is obvious to me that any game with Mario’s name on it just gets good reviews by default. Those are two of the worst games that Nintendo has ever made while Star Allies is certainly passable. Critics are so strange sometimes.

With his other videos I didn't like their exclusion, but for this video it's understandable. Those series only have 3-4 games, so it wouldn't be very interesting. There's just not that many games to be considered.
If I where you for Mario kart, I would swap the two games around. I love Mario kart tour and it got better over time as well
I never realized Animal Crossing: New Horizons got review bombed so badly. The criticisms aren't wrong: They're completely valid, and I agree with the sentiment that multiplayer and the "one island per system" decisions weren't good. But overall Nintendo did a lot right, and it's still a very good game.
The original legend of Zelda or Zelda 2 the adventure of Link should be lowest. Thinking back to your to worst game in their franchise when you pick Skyward Sword was ridiculous, But this one make it better.

I've seen several of these every Nintendo franchise videos and you keep forgetting to include the Punch-Out franchise. This is a HUGE mistake, and can be fixed by covering all the previous video topics as they relate to Punch-Out. Highest and lowest rated Punch-Out games, worst game over in a Punch-Out game, Punch-Out glitches, etc. No Nintendo centric TH-cam channel is allowed to ignore the Punch-Out franchise, I refuse to let you.

If you ask me Smash 64 is an okay game and great for it's time but every Smash Bros game after it took what made it good and added to it and comparing 64 to the others is like comparing Mario 1 to Mario 3 or most Pokemon games to their remakes.

I use a rating site myself, and review bombing and bots are almost always used on new popular games for the audience score to lower it, that’s why new horizons has a low audience score
I grew up playing Mario Kart. I own every one of them except Double Dash. I like Mario Kart: World Tour, but I agree that it is definitely the worst of the franchise. I like it more because it is Mario Kart on my phone. I can play it anywhere and I can use the thing I have with me anyways. It is definitely not perfect, and is definitely P2W. The multiplayer is also super super laggy and buggy. You can hit someone with an item and they spin, but suddenly just appear ahead of you like they didn't even get hit. I definitely want a true Mario Kart mobile, but I kind of have to just settle for this for now.
Super Mario run should score 1/100. It 70 and Mario kart tour is actually quite good now

I was born in 2009 so I didn't play the og oot but I played the 3D remake and I absolutely love it I'm at the end of jabu jabu and I'm Gonna play it to the end I love everything about it EDIT: I'm playing on 3DS I started in early 2021 and love the characters,bosses,dungeons and controls I'm on my 6th playthough of botw and late into alttp on my mini SNES even in 1992. Zelda was AMAZING. I'm so hyped for botw2

ngl i thought hgss would be the highest ranked pokémon game and not xy but okay... while gen 6 was the first gen i played, it's so painfully easy with forgettable rivals, a laughable villainous team, and the game kind of forces you to use the exp share which overlevels your pokémon easily. but kalos is such a beautiful region and it revolutionized the series with 3d graphics, so i guess it was great on its own. just that hgss literally made two already beloved games better and made johto feel much more alive as a region with added lore, areas and character roles expanded upon, and great worldbuilding that was the epitome of pokémon as its peak.
also brawl has the best single-player mode in any smash game in the form of the subspace emissary. gameplay may be repetitive at times but it's mostly fun with all of the different levels, and seeing all of these nintendo characters come together left me in awe as a young child. it's an upgrade from adventure mode in melee, and while some other single-player modes have been downgraded (eg. break the targets where there's five boring levels instead of a unique one for each character), to call it lacking and even bad is laughable.
if you're going to criticize brawl for anything then that's going to have to lean more towards the competitive side with the removal of popular techniques in melee such as wavedashing, stupid gimmicks (who thought random tripping was a good idea?), slow physics that served as the antithesis to melee's fast-paced and arguably more fun gameplay, and barely any balance in the characters. meta knight is so op he has an entire tier to himself. you can argue that the game tries to appeal to beginners but the fighting gameplay becomes tedious and meta knight is all you need to win most of the time.
they also added some kind of unnecessary stuff like chronicles (why would i want to read about all the games released on nintendo consoles on a smash game?), masterpieces, and stickers that are only good on subspace emissary, but in all honesty i never used them because i had no idea i could. but despite all of that i grew up with brawl and it is a game i feel very nostalgic towards. it hasn't really aged well like some other games but it is still a very great game.

2 words: GOOPER BLOOPER. He’s nigh impossible to beat without the sponge. It’s in 3-9, easy to miss and blends in with the background. Also his attacks do poison! Oh yeah. Not only does it absorb the poison, it spits back out the poison at the blooper, and it also is weak to it! Kersti doesn’t tell you about the sponge until you already have it! And god forbid you use the sponge too early, otherwise you might as well not have even got it!

I’m going to be honest, Mario Kart Tour is one of my favorite Mario kart games. I’m a free to play player, and I’m still doing fine. I totally understand why people don’t like it, but it uses very little data so I can play it basically anywhere, and since the tours change every other week, there’s always a reason to come back to it imo.

My favourite Mario games are super Mario bros for the DS. The Mario party series and Mario kart 7 on the 3ds and Nintendo dS. I also enjoyed super Mario 3d land

Co-op in one kart changed the game. My friend and I were so in sync we rarely loss to our friends
I too was very fond of double dash. I wish that they brought it back because it stirred up the series and made chosing characters matter more. I normally would never play as the baby characters but I would always choose one of them in double dash because of the weight and the chain chomp item.

Yeah I don't think that Metacritic has very accurate ratings. Most people I hear from say that gen 3, 4 or 5 are the best games. I can agree that gen 3 was really good with the storytelling, very high quality pixel art and music. I haven't played gen 4 or 5 so I can't really vouch for those. The only thing that stood out for X and Y was the move to 3D models and Megas. The gameplay was fairly easy and it had the least amount of new Pokemon added. 1 good thing that came from it though was the online which made it incredibly easy to find friends and people to battle and trade with. I would easily trade the gen 7 and 8 online connectivity for it to come back.
