Great video. But you still don't shock asystole. Common misconception due to Hollywood and even the way AHA and Red Cross depict the use of the AED, if using an AED the only rhythm it will recognize is "V fib" or possibly "V tac." The purpose of shocking those lethal rhythms is to (in the rare occurrence) put them back into an organized sustainable rhythm or knock out the unorganized conduction of the heart and put them into asystole. The method of action after asystole is recognized is high quality CPR and proper medication administration. The only thing that will bring a organized rhythm back from asystole is building up the cell storage of depleted ATP through high quality CPR. That's why it is imperative to push hard, properly, and fast. This is just what I was taught. I know things change regionally. Food for thought.

Great video. I learned lots! At 37:10 you talk about medications "lowering the blood pressure, which makes the coronary arteries expand...". Is that correct? Or is it the opposite cause? That the medications make the arteries to expand, which is the cause of the lower blood pressure?

I find it quite exceptional that the major arteries required to sustain life (ie to provide the heart with its own blood supply in order to make it function), are some of the smallest arteries (Coronary arteries)!
