      @@ElectricVehicleSpace where does the motor come from? extremely skeptical of the claimed specs considering that a full hub motor doesn't deliver anywhere close to those specs. there's no room for most of the stator iron since there's no hub. what gauge are the windings? how many turns? lamination thickness? number? poles?
      there is also no definitive proof for their claims of power and torque

      @@ElectricVehicleSpace 👁👄👁 You’ve just earned yourself new subscriber. When can I buy? Do you also make cruiser style too?
      I like Kawasaki Vulcan Sport cruiser style with the 2 saddlebags and the cargo space on the back. Kinda reminds me of the legendary Honda Goldwind Valkyrie Enginecycle.
      Love your design.
      Lot of people still use old school AGM Lead Acid batteries or the old school Lithium Ion batteries.
      The new standard is Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries with the upcoming future chemistry being carbon Graphene batteries.
      What battery chemistry do you guys use for your batteries?
      Can I invest too as investor? I’m american Spanish.

    I honestly think putting the motor in the wheel hub is the way to go for motorcycles possibly cars as well, Compare this to a Harley Davidson live wireAnd look at how much additional real estate is opened up for a bigger battery pack. Now if we could just get the energy densities for batteries in a place where we can get long range touring bikes

    Very remarkable and intriguing bike. Of course implementing a revolutionary shift from over 100 years of time-tested and applied design without introducing compromises in complexity, reliability and cost typically require a paradigm shift in thinking, technology and manufacturing. Let's hope they have achieved this!

    • @ElectricVehicleSpace
      @ElectricVehicleSpace  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think no one will start a brand a company without a concept that works 100%. Would you?

    • @jackoneil3933
      @jackoneil3933 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@ElectricVehicleSpace Well, it seems that people do start a brand company with concepts that fail, often because the concept or implementation does not deliver as promised or simply can't bootstrap beyond the investment and development required to compete in a market. Notable examples might be the DeLorean Motor Car Company, Aptera, Segway, SAAB, Monteverdi, General Motors. TVR, BSA., Bultaco, Britten, Rupp, and etc.
      I've been involved with a few startups, including a motorcycle startup launched by one of the top iconic names in auto racing with backing by big names in manufacturing, They offered a marketing leading product that delivered 120% beyond the competition but in the end could not develop enough brand identity to compete against established market leaders.
      I love and am intrigued by what Verge has developed and promises to offer. It looks well conceived and implemented, but I'm familiar with what it takes to bootstrap from an innovative startup to delivering to niche and mass markets, and how it takes more than a great concept, innovation and passion alone.
      Verge might just be able to pull it off, if they have a product that can deliver and excels in one or more areas, over market leaders, with no failures in quality, reliability and product support.

      If they can get funding, more can be invested in research to make that viable. Hubless wheel concepts have been a dream for industrial designers since the 80s.

    • @PierredeCur
      @PierredeCur 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A two wheel drive bike would be surely interesting, but I'm still worried about the high suspended weight issue for the suspension and the angular momentum of a wheel with an integrated engine, especially on the front wheel that's directional. We all know how huge diameter wheels that are so fashionable in the custom world make the bikes that mount them tricky to handle and they are slow hogs...

      I would hopefully assume that this is a sealed motor design in which case there theoretically would be no areas for dirt or water to enter. If that's not the case then this product is doomed. Unless they can power this motorcycle with the rear wheel fully submerged I can't see this being reliable

    • @ReizePrimus
      @ReizePrimus 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@caseymurray7722 I think it's doomed from the beginning even if it worked practically. A rear hub motor like you get on a typical e-bike is far lighter, has less moving parts, easier to dismount and costs a whole lot less. When you have a technology that does the same thing but better, who would even bother buying this except to prove they got a lot of money?

    Great ideas (first time an hubless design actually makes sense), but I would like to know about the unsuspended weight, inertia and angular momentum of the rear wheel with the integrated engine and their effects on handling, especially on bumps.
    Also with the wheel convenience thingy, come on, you don't take out the tyre of yours (and just dismounting the wheel is even simpler in, let's say, an old BMW R90S: loosen a bolt, remove another and out), which would be interesting, as it does not seem to fit tyre mounting machines that require a wheel with a hub...
    So the subject, your bike, is very interesting indeed, but the video is poor, especially for us bikers who like to know about nuts and bolts and can see through the pub...

    Imagine a monster truck using motors on every wheel;
    enormous torque and a lot of capacity for the battery pack;
    changing its suspensions from all terrains to the race position near the ground...
    that would be a fantasy car;
    charging with dc 50kw supercharger...
    --> and to dream more... :
    1. wi-fi cameras all around...
    2. a remote control engine ...
    3. an anti-gravity chamber with transparent half filled water storage boxes, the cabin should be separated from the engine in case you roll over and fall in a normal position, not upside down;
    4. or with magnets and a controller that push you where you want to;
    5. the ideal case it would be if the wheels are bigger than the cabin ...something like rollcage gameplay from 1999;
    6. i think the ideal example is for the chamber needs to be just for one person to rotate him in case he goes upside down...
    If i make more money i would do a mini kart with 4 Brushless Motors For Go Kart 72v 3000w... bigger wheels than the cabin...

    Fantastic design but I'm curious about the weather protection on this bike. Have you guys done any testing with the rear wheel in water?

    • @StanleyKubick1
      @StanleyKubick1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      even if sealed, prolonged riding on days with puddles will short this thing out immediately

    • @caseymurray7722

      @@StanleyKubick1 I'd hope not. You can easily make electronics and motors waterproof. Other than the charging port if it was made with decent weathering engineering this thing should be able to be completely submerged and still run (maybe minus cooling fans, if there are any, being able to turn in water.)

      There's an electric bike called Prana here in India, it has got about 4.3kw battery and has a range of about 100km. It's about 80kgs lighter than the Verge but still..

      Drag is a big limiting factor for motorcycles. Their drag coefficient is usually between 0.5-1.0. That's double a typical car.

      @@anaskb1798 I guess a claimed range of 100km (like NIU and SuperSoco) - tested with a driver that weighs 70kg at a speed of 35km/h and nowhere near any real standards like a driver that weighs 100kg and goes 85km/h on the way home. Then the range quickly drops below 60km

    Looks sweet but a few inputs..
    1) The rear yellow electric wires going to the hub would look better in a tube tucked away
    2) Keyless go without touching with a card like some Hondas and Harleys have would be better
    3) The mirrors look outdated and out of place on this modern tech and a couple of bullet cams on the sides with thoughtfully placed monitors would clean up the front and look much sleeker and modern
    4) Motorized up&down windscreen in the middle would give some kind of wind protection
    5) Integrated sequential led rear turn signals into the brake light. For the front led sequential turn, singlas could be integrated into the gas tank area square black parts next to the headlight, looking at it from the front
    6) Heated grips, seat and cruise control always are welcomed bonuses
