23 Levo Sl, about 1k miles so far.. absolutely greatest bike I've ever been on.. And i say bike, not an ebike, cuz it feels so close to my acoustic bike...it's damn near perfect.
3 seasons in on my 2021 Turbo Levo (6k miles) and not one second of disappointment or regret. The Gen 2 SL is looking/sounding better with recent upgrades but the Turbo’s 90nm full power makes climbing in Vermont mountains a thrill 💪 dialing back the power let’s you ride the bike the way you want
Brilliant video Sam, totally enjoyed that, and very interesting. I've got a Levo comp carbon 2022 and absolutely adore it. I'm tempted by the new SL but the big thing for me is the range. I'm into all day treks and even with the range extender I'd struggle. Range anxiety just doesn't exist with the full fat Levo.
Im running 50+ km rides in the mountains with 2k climbed meters with my Levo SL and still getting back home with 20% battery left. frankly, Im still yet to use the range extender :D. I have 90kg and relatively fit, so I use the Turbo mode only for really steep climbs or when tried as hell. less powerful motor works perfectly with smaller battery and the bike itself is much lighter
Another great video Sam. I definitely agree that it doesn’t harm your fitness. In my experience, I tend to just do more laps on my eMTB, so it equals out. Thanks to the lads for helping out too. Appreciate ya mate! 🇦🇺
awesome video with great opinions from everyone. please make more videos like this, or even another follow up long term review with all these bikes! small comment - would like to hear more of the other two guys opinions. pls make them talk more.
Really appreciate the video and insight on all 3 models. I've been researching for the last few weeks.for my first emtb and this content really helped me finalize my decision on what I think will be the right platform for me. Cheers!
@@SamsBikesGreat video! And also the 2024 Kenevo SL will feature the new 1.2 motor. This was taken from the Specialized support page, “For Model Year 2024, Kenevo SL is updated with the Specialized SL 1.2 motor. The rock guard/motor cover are updated to fit the 1.2 motor. The cranks, spider, and chainring are also different than earlier versions.”
Another great vid thank you , dam I love the bikes and for newbie’s a great thing to understand what you want in a bike at the moment I’m Levo sl young enough to push through but Levo is where I’ll probably end up in a few years lol 😅
Gen 3 Levo ❤ Scooped up a spear 700watt battery, so I'm rolling 1400watts on my levo, can smash through some epic back country trails without ever using eco........ I didn't buy a full power E BIKE to ride eco, but hats of to riders out there doing 50+KS in eco, fit buggers.
More great content! I've got a levo gen 2 with an upgraded Fox38 160 fork, Ohlins rear coil, MT7s, and Zipp 3zero wheels. With these upgrades, I continue to love it, but would like to run 27.5 rear. Is it possible on the gen2 levo? Would it just slack up my angles a bit and lower the bb, but otherwise work?
Thanks Chris and sounds like a sweet rig! Yes you can go a a 27,5 on the rear also you can get a headset Angle kit for sure! Let me know how you get on!
I was tempted to change my Levo to mt7s because I've got Maguras on my other ebike and they're sharper, more bitey than the Levo's stock SRAM ones. That said, better pads and the thicker HS2 disc has made a big difference on mine
@@lozetchells9164 I've been super happy with my mt7's.. They require a bit more maintenance imo, but once you have it down it's not a big deal. I run 220 front 203 rear discs and Trickstuff bb 170 pads fwiw.
Holy...looks like a Victoria Secret Show. Only top models on the run. S-Works shop is now empty. Good test and review. All that kashima coating makes me blind. I think I go on a cheap ride and take my giant reign e+.
17:00 - for all analog bikers who refuse to hear/understand the truth about emtb and fitness. Since I moved to emtb Giant Reign e+0 I feel the same as Pablo. I got even better on analog bike now. Giant Reign e+0 is a BOMB!
Sure! After a month of eMtb, now I feel I can move way better my analog bike. I feel stronger goin down, but don’t feel any loss of power uphill. In a couple rides with the e-bikes I finished even cramped hahaha
I have the new Levo sl comp carbon how is really different from the kenevo sl other than placement of rear shock? Thx! Ps I love to go fast is the kenevo so faster? Thx!
Hey rider I’ll be doing a deep dive into this next month! The Levo is a super capable ebike and made for fun 🤩 not speed I feel where the Kenevo SL is a speed monster more confident on the harder trails and the suspension is pretty different we are have a 4 bar on the Levo and 6 bar on Kenevo SL similar to Specialized DH bike
As we said in the video, I like a lot climbing :) I’m really impressed with these new Tacky Chans Sam is using in his bikes, even in the soft compound (there’s a supersoft) rolls so good, but still have a lot of traction and great breaking. If you ride in pretty loose terrain maybe a Magic Mary could be a better option.
Seen a few people fitting a different sized shock to the the new levo to give 170 mm at the rear and paired with a 170 fork. Could be a very good bike until they release a new kenevo sl
But the specialized motor…. 2 year needing replacement 3 times, 2 while out of warranty? Throw a Bosch or Yama on there maybe. Love specialized brand just not the motor.
@@Urban.Broccoli Yup, 85nm of torque and 750w let’s me ride all afternoon up and down the steepest hills. I’ve got a trek x8 that makes any e bike look heavy. I don’t like compromises which a lot of new light e bikes seem to be.

You have a noisy bike (acoustic)? LOL
Thanks a lot for having us Sam!!! It's been so fun and a pretty interesting experience. A hell of a month 😍
Thanks Pablo it was a great month!
Riders.... this was a super interesting month with Pablo and Martin I hope you like it riders.
Yes, it has been great to work with you three! Great riders and great people!!!
Totally thanks Bea
Thanks a lot Bea! Same here, a pleasure 😊
Great review Sam, I have done 2,000km on my Gen 3 Levo in a year, not a single issue, it is superb.
Thanks John, I remember talking about you getting it! So happy your happy with it!

But it doesn’t replace the Levo
Super comprehensive comparison. Helps a lot thanks!

I have the same bike with a full upgrade. Totally agree with you.
You could put a second range extender in your pack, but I would probably go full power in your position.

Sam , you need to install the long shock kit on the Gen 3 from castcade components. I would love to see how the bike would handle with more travel.
Dude not a bad idea!
I am really hoping that Specialized releases a new Kenevo SL with the 1.2 motor. That sounds like it could be the best of both worlds...

Sam, what would you think of the Kenevo SL with a Gen 2 1.2 motor?
Yep 👍 I think we should see it at some point. The Kenevo SL is already a beast but will be better with the 1.2 motor

Full power seems to be the way to go
What would you pick levo turbo or Orbea wild? For a mix of everything inc dirt jumps?
Yes 🙌 for me it s full power for where I ride! The Orbea is a few fast bike and very stable and the Levo is more playful 😈

Ad someonr still learning to jump the weight of a full ebike is a little scary.
Depends on the budget...
That’s true

Heckler SL is the one! Why it’s pure stealthy.
I would love to test the Hecklet
Just been to a Santa Cruz event in Scotland and the new SL was there, beautiful bike, very stealthy.
nice
Thanks
All s works lots of people can’t afford these bikes so why don’t you start at the entry level
SL with 500wh battery would be a wrap.
Haha so the Levo SL with the range extender? 480wh
but the Levo's big motor is so ugly. looks like a big square rock in the center of it. just can't ride that
Specialized.. too many belt motor probs. Warranty is a wait time.. nope.
definitely not Specialized - wtf they using belt on 90Nm motor?
The Whyte e160…
That thing is a tank.
