    Excellent work, Arthur. Glad to see Marty Allen's marker. I remember him well back in the 60s. He is a WWII war hero. Look up his service record.

      Marty was modest about his medal. And he was very moved whenever he heard our National Anthem sung at ball games. He would tear up, thinking of all those who made the ultimate sacrifice. I wonder how he would feel today, seeing his beloved country in its current state, with so much Antisemitism on college campuses. I think it was a blessing for him that he went to the other side in 2018. It's just too bad he didn't live to learn of President Trump relocating the American embassy to Jerusalem. That happened in May of 2018, after Marty had passed. I think he would have been pleased.

    I’m sure it’s been said hundreds of times by now, but I just don’t have the words to express my deep respect and admiration for the work that you do. You show deep respect and maintain the dignity of the people you honor in this way. I look for you every time you post a new post. 1 million thanks and God bless you.

      @drhkleinert8241 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Yes, Caan and Wayne were that kind of man (like Lancaster and Bronson, too) you think they cant die because they are so bigger than life. So masculine and tough guys.
      But, when i was young and watch movies of them all in TV and Cinema i often forget that it was 40 or 47 yrs ago, and these Men were adults that time. And then i realise that they are 70 or 80 or more now. And so i will see all my cildhood or Teen heros pass, like Arnold, Stallone, Ford, Eastwood...

    Nicholas Markowitz's death is such a tragic story and you can really get sense of his parents' heartbreak when you read the epitaph on his gravestone. The video mentions Anton Yelchin plays the character Zack, who was inspired by Nicholas in the movie Alpha Dog. Ironically, Yelchin also died tragically young. He was only 27 years old when his Jeep rolled down his driveway and pinned him against a pillar, killing him.

    Marty Allen was the first celebrity I met when I was a kid. He was either the MC or the talent for the Anaheim Police Department's Annual Ball. After the ball we were back in the Green Room area waiting for a friend of my sister that worked at the convention center. Mr. Allen cones out of his dressing room, thinking we were there for him. He chatted us up and signed a publicity postcard for each of us. "Hello Dere, Marty Allen." I still have it packed away in storage.

    • @jrnfw4060
      @jrnfw4060 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You continue to hang on to that signed poster. It's precious. Additionally, perhaps you would be interested in obtaining a copy of Marty's autobiography, if you don't already have one. He published it in 2014, and there still are copies available out there. The title: "HELLO, DERE!" An Illustrated Biography by Marty Allen." I have a copy. It's a treasure.

    I love when you revisit someone when they receive their headstone. Great video!!

    • @jrnfw4060
      @jrnfw4060 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We often feel it's better if the headstone isn't necessary, because its recipient is still alive in this world. Marty would have been 102 this year, and knowing how much he loved this country, seeing how it is today with all of the blatant, unabashed Antisemitism might have broken his heart. God took him in 2018 to spare him that --and COVID.
      Marty's being Jewish meant a lot to him, and he supported Israel. To have seen it under attack for all of these several months, and to have known that so many in this country, which he so eagerly served during WWII, have been rooting for Israel's enemies would probably have hurt him deeply.
      Trust in God. He loves us and knows what He's doing.
      Eternal happiness to you, Marty.❤

    James Caan: Brian’s Sing, Elf, Sonny in The Godfather (great death scene), Misery and Eraser. I like those movies
    Solomon “Terry” Becker: voyage to the Bottom of the Sea was one show we all watched as a family along with other Irwin Allen shows Lost in Space , The Time Tunnel and Land of the Giants!
    Marty Allen: What I remember the most about him is when he came in the Mike Douglass Show and whe Mike asked him what he was working in, he said he was going to be a judge at a nudist colony in Roselawn, IN, a few miles from where I was living! That crazy hair!
    Dan Curtis: We would run home for lunch just to see the show and then talk about it at school the next day!
    Howard Caine Cohen: Liked watching the Hogan’s Heroes reruns in the 1970s right before Crane met his untimely death!
    George Wylie: The Gilliligan’s Island theme is one you just can’t get out of your head!. I like the dirty version of The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!
    Beautiful, Respectful, Insightful and Moving Installment of Hollywood Graveyard! Thanks Arthur!!!!

      @@denicesanders4586 You know, when you are a kid you make up dirty lyrics to a song?
      If you listen to the Howard Stern Show, cast members and listeners make up dirty lyrics to sing about cohort Robin Quivers. I will not publish this lyrics here for their version of It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year or else Arthur may ban me from the Channel!
      Did you and your friends used to sing Yvonne Ellimon’s song from Saturday Night Fever:
      IF I Can’t Have You, I WANT THAT ONE OVER THERE,
      I Can’t Have You, I don’t want, nobody!

When he was in the Army Air Corp in Italy, he befriended a little dog until it one day disappeared. He revealed that in his autobiography, "HELLO, DERE! An Illustrated Biography by Marty Allen." If you or your brother don't have this book, I highly recommend it. It came out in 2014, and copies are still available.

    Marty Allen received the Soldiers Medal for saving lives when a fire began while others were boarding a plane driving off a fuel truck. He then returned using his own body to put extinguish the flames and was given an even more rare honor by full dress parade in recognition of his Valor. His name is at the top of the list when you look up what the medal is for online and salutes bravery of those who saved others often away from combat...🇺🇸

    Thank you for all you do. You show such great respect to so many who have gone on.
    I appreciate seeing these places, for I can't travel. You have given so much to not only us, but to those who have departed and their families.
    They will not be forgotten. ❤

    Thank you for this one, two of my still favorite TV series, Dark Shadows and Kolchak, are all thanks to the creative genius of Dan Curtis. I am also a huge fan of James Caan. May their memories be for a blessing.
