How to fix a Dirt Devil vacuum cleaner with bad suction -- if you've tried everything else!!!

Right on Will !!! I had the same problem, and my vacuum was overheating. There was a clog in the hose that was not apparent. Did the broom method and a small piece of minty dog bone was lodged in the hose along with a bunch of dog and cat hair... Loved the "dirty, sucky" jokes... Dirt Angel, love it! haha Thanks a bunch! Btw, my son is also a musician, but he doesn't play an instrument... well he used to but now he does everything with software. He put out his first, "metal" album not long ago... Would love to hear your style as well. Thanks again!

6 July 2021 update, dude, your camera work needs work but, your video helped me fix the dirt devil destined for the dumpster. I had cleaned everything and totally overlooked the extension hose. Which my kids filled with candy wrappers and Lego pieces. Your broom stick maneuver did the trick. To you I salute, 🌎🏆💪

Thanks, man. That clogged hose was exactly the problem, but don't stick a broom handle in the thing much less friggin' blow on it. Confession, I tried both, to no avail. I then used a GARDEN HOSE with a pressure nozzle. That blew out a hunk of soggy debris big as my fist, after which the vacuum works just fine. Also, nobody needs a 1:50 close-up of your bearded mug as an intro. Almost made me quit watching! (and Idda missed a good vid if I had).

Mine has the bag, and I was thinking there were two different switches, one for floors and one for the house, but you just pull out the house to use it and put it back in and the suction goes accordingly. So, why isn't it having any suction or spinning the brush? Brush isn't clogged or strings wrapped around it and the hole underneath has suction.
