  • Middle of the night and your inverter beeps to tell you it is going to shut off? Super annoying isn't it. We need to change your low voltage cut off point. It is super easy to do, you can do it in just a few seconds.
    At Double D Distribution we want to make our jobs better for all truck drivers. We believe truck drivers are American heroes so we make videos to give you the tools you need to be successful as you drive. For more information you can visit: doubleddistrib...

    I have a 2019 freightliner cascadia and I put it on 12.9 just to make sure I have enough power to crank it up in this cold weather...
    Works perfectly and my batteries are like a year and 4 months old...

    Thank you so much I was trying to make pizza rolls and the inverter kept going off on my glance microwave was even rev my engine and nothing now it’s actually staying at 12.7

    That helped me immensely now I can relay to my maintenance what's happening and if there's a fix unfortunately I am in a Freightliner and you said that you cannot change that

    • @DDTruckDriver
      @DDTruckDriver  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on the inverter but yes most factory freightliner inverters can't be changed. However we have been installing aftermarket ones immediately after they arrive from the factory and those can be adjusted, so it just depends on what you have.

    I got the same problem with my company truck (2022 International) the inverter shuts off at 12.5 but the truck has a auto start/stop feature that never starts the truck when voltage is running low😅…anyways truck is in the shop and hopefully they fix it

    When your inverted cuts off , does this malfunction your idle management system because it’s not cutting off now

    This is exactly what I have. My current question is. I want to go with a bigger one. But I want all the functions like apu kicking on with low voltage and the digital readout inside the truck like we have. So can I keep all that with a truck stop bought 3k inverter and other question is how big can I go with out upgrading the wires

      I am not sure where the brain is that controls all of that. I assume it is in the truck but I can't say for sure and whether the truck stop inverter is compatible to read the messages that are coming its way or not I have no idea. I will ask Freightliner and see if I get an answer on it.
      However, what I can tell you. Freightliner didn't use to have such control of the inverter, it used to be an on/off thing that was independent of the truck. But a few years ago Freightliner decided to put in a computer that would control the inverter such as turning it off if the batteries were low, turning it on or off when the truck is driving, watching for power surges, etc. And ever since then they have had problems. I was dealing with a very weird inverter problem recently and Freightliner told me the best thing we could do is remove the Freightliner brain and install a new inverter that was independent of the truck's control. We did that and it has been so much better ever since.

    So I have one of these in my international and I’m able to change the setting and I lowered it to 10.5 but whenever I plug something into it the inverter dies out… I checked the connections and everything checks out… any thoughts???

      First thought I’d possible bad battery. If one or more of your batteries are bad then it could occasionally be reading a lower voltage even though the other batteries are good. Your truck starting can deal with that and doesn’t freak out but I’ve found these inverters are sensitive and as soon as they sense trouble they panic and trip

    Hello friend doble D ,,, i hope get an answer ,,, i install a 700watts galanz microwave on my K680 and when i try to warm something an about minute and half cut off ,,,, could be this the problem?

    • @DDTruckDriver
      @DDTruckDriver  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It certainly could be related. That is a good size microwave but a few things to try: 1. Don't have anything else plugged in when you use your microwave. 2. When you use the microwave have your truck on so it is giving full power to your inverter. 3. If if still is doing it, see if you can plug your microwave into a different outlet just in case it is a bad outlet. 4. When you get a chance, load test your batteries. If some of the batteries are weak it will send that low voltage signal to the inverter and it will cut you off.

    • @DDTruckDriver
      @DDTruckDriver  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jessecarr9415 A quick google search says that it has to do with low battery input. I assume you have some bad batteries and the inverter keeps getting a lower voltage signal from the bad battery and then it panics and shuts down.

      What truck are you in? For example, our freightliner trucks won't let us change this setting, but our KW trucks will. It is a setting the OEMs decide to have Eaton include in their inverters or not.
