It's the end of 2016, and a lot of mods have came out for our beloved cars. I filmed a bunch of mods of my car today and just wanted to compile the top 5 that i like. It's my top 5!
I can really break this list down further into categories, and i thought about it; such as performance, audio, and looks. However, maybe i'll do that in the next one.

Thanks for the vid John. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find too much info on the head unit online. I found a link to an updated Android 6.0 version on Amazon but I still have some questions. Is this wrx or sti?
John Nguyen does the android head unit allow you to still use steering wheel controls or is there anything g else you need to keep them?

You work at a dealership yet have no basic understanding of how warranties are handled when it comes to aftermarket modification. It is 100% up to the dealer to prove the modification caused the malfunction, not the other way around. Or maybe you've just never heard of the moss act.

Cool video. You didn't mention your badge upgrades. Saw and STI badge on the trunk and STI shift bezel, but WRX fender badges and.. (drumroll)...no DCCD.
I actually bought a stock 2015 STI late 2021. Top 5 mods depend on what you want to do with your car and where you want to put your money. I live in the mountains of WV and bought my car to have fun in the twisties, so I'm doing drivability mods first. Shift bushing, strut tower brace, front/rear stabilizers and end links, then intake and exhaust and tune.
Not too concerned about the head unit. When I'm busting the mtn roads my radio is off anyway so I can stay in tune with my car and the road.
You are making me want a new WRX..... So clean.
Best mod by far is a universal Subaru flex fuel kit from eBay saving 200-250$ from buying same thing branded by Cobb and then getting a flex fuel tune by Bren or phatbotti. Hands down best money spent. And if you bundle the ap purchase with their e tune then you save 100-200$ on that as well. Just went e50 with universal flex kit and power gains are insane. 360/360.

I have on mine currently Cobb Access Port with a map stage 1, nameless muffler delete and the shift stop.. for less then a grand and just starting I would absolutely recommend this set up. makes the car feel and sound soon much better! but it's a gateway and stage 2 will follow shortly hahah! keep up the videos man!
all of those mods really make the car drive so much better. The powerband and the shifting just feels less lazy.

A STi is a wrx, but a wrx is not an sti kind of thing. It's complicated.
Anyways, i kind of bought what i liked regardless of title. I know some people get really offended but it doesn't bother me.

Nice mods! You have so many mods you could break it down to at least a few categories. Appearance exterior/interior, Performance engine/suspension/miscellaneous, Audio/Visual, etc.

I have to say I agree with the Accessport, even if you're just wanting to monitor gauges. However, the head unit I wouldn't recommend. I think it looks great and is much improved over OEM. Having said that, any aftermarket head unit will slightly ding resale value because technology moves so quick it WILL become dated. Most buyers see it as a negative. If that's no concern- more power to you!

Surprised to not see AOS and TGR/EGV delete make the list. AOS is a must have whether you are building your car up for power or want to just leave it stock, it will really help with the longevity of your engine. TGR/EGV also removes bunch of restrictions but requires a tune, might not be ideal if you are in a state with strict emission laws and you will constantly have issues passing inspection. Biggest power gain is the flex fuel kit, next would probably be the J-Pipe, both require a tune.

Awesome vid/ride. A couple questions though:
1. Head Unit: Does installing the head unit override the OEM backup camera that shows up on the HUD on top of the dash?
2. Cobb AccessPort: I am a newbie at this stuff. Will the port void my warranty AND is it pretty straightforward to install and use?
1.)Yeah it does override but you can still wire it so it shows up.
2.)You can flash it back to stock before sending it to the dealer if you are worried. They won't be able to tell

No problem, there is an RCA looking port for a subwoofer but i'm not familar with that stuff.
The 6.0 is a nice version. You can check out some of the newer videos. Seicane has a lot of stuff oraganized pretty well too.

Nice mods man! Are the driving wheel buttons fully working with this head unity? This is definitely something that bothers me, even on the 2017 model.
they buttons work with the native apps.
only issue is certain apps like spotify the back and forward doesnt work

yeah you can use that headunit to connect your phone. It doesnt have carplay though

I was wondering if you could link me your head unit? I looked but wasn't able to find one that looked like that. I didn't get the harmon kardon speakers did the head unit make the difference? So I purchased a pre owned WRX STI. It has the Perrin CAI and full exhaust. I head Cobb is only good with a Cobb CAI. Anyone here have Cobb access port with tunes without their CAI and how is it going for you?

For the shift stop, how did you install it? Did you take the center console completely off? I just bought it and realized there are no installs for the sti shifter.
for the wrx you just have to pull the shift boot up. for the sti center console you gotta unscrew everything
John Nguyen yeah i took everything off and it doesnt seem like this is compatible with the STi. Let me know if you anything about it

Don't know how I feel about the tail lights. Still looks better than the Kia knock offs on the previous gen hatchbacks.

If you really looking for power, just get flex fuel

yeah you need an accessport to get tune, even if you are going to pro tuner, they would probably try to sell you one
0pLegit you don't need an access port to get tuned but highly recommended as most tuners prefer it for subis specifically.

First mod will definitely void your warranty!!!! I just had ring land failure/piston in my 2015 wrx I bought brand new.. luckily I didn't mod at alll!!! But that was the first thing they asked !! Did you install the cob port..
