I also thought it was nice until I saw that it's not good for the environment. But I just discovered there's water lanterns which aren't dangerous & it gets cleaned, so I'm attending to that one!😁

I had the same thought while watching this.
It doesn't, & it's dangerous :/ Check on Google there's so many complains on how it affects animals and can causes wildfires.

Well some events make sure they're biodegradable lanterns and have an large area they see as the landing zone so they can pick up as many as possible
And at the same time the lantern will burn in the air so it landed on the earth surface ashes only
