I feel like this would be a good show if the context wasn’t a heathers reboot like it would just be a good show on its own without it being based off the original
Honestly, I agree! I watched the whole thing, and to be honest, it's more of a Bonnie and Clyde thing than heathers. Like, it would've been better to say the show was inspired by heathers, rather than calling it a reboot
Power Outage it’s a reboot, not a remake. It’s not supposed to be the same people!
@@bella7769 but people watch the show thinking it was going to be like the heathers, and it came out in poor timing during all those school shootings. The point is the show is geared towards young fans or heathers. Heather fans are not going to like the show and young fans find it condescending because their message is basically calling them pathetic. The show overall had poor marketing by making it seem, even if it was a reboot similar to the actual heathers. The show didn't market itself right and that's why it got cancelled. This show was never going to last but if they had done their PR better it may had last like an extra season at most because they alienated their target audience.
I know, right! like, this could be a potential show with its own points and plot. but instead they had it based off the original. (facepalm)
Yea for real, it’s so forced to be like the original but in this situation it makes NO sense
This literally takes away from the point of Kurt and Rams suicide.
It's a completely different story.
@@DANIELGORMANN Then they shouldn't have used anything from Heathers. Make your own story and stop ruining others with a horrible remake.
@@LucaNemes214 It doesn't ruin shit. The original still exists. It's not even like you have to remember the names, everything is in a different medium, just say "the Healther movie / the heather musical / the heather show". Fucking cry baby.
@@Coeurlarme perhaps it doesnt ruin the original to those who have seen it, but it is profiteering off a classic by using its name despite barely following the plot which is something deserving of calling out. The musical stuck pretty close to the original hence why it doesnt have the same negative reactions. Since this is the most recent, it creates the wrong idea of what the original heathers is so it could ruin the name heathers in that sense
@@LucaNemes214 why does this have likes. you're literally wrong.
"How could you do this to kurt! He is the smartest guy on the football team! .... which is kind of being the tallest dwarf."
how could you do this to me, I LOVED HIM.... like rams hotter but WHY
Poor guy 🥺
Ok, i really, really like this, but calling it a heathers reboot feels wrong. Its just not right. This isnt really heathers its just a highschool dark comedy, with some inspiration from heathers.
Yeah, it could of said inspired by Heathers if anything. But they didn't have to necessarily call it Heathers.
AkrilicNinth
It’s a REBOOT! Reboots aren’t supposed to be the same as the movie, if it was it would be a REMAKE! This show is doing everything it’s supposed to do and I love it.
@@bella7769 calm down jeez
crazy has cupcakes Cameron
2 all capitalized words, I’m calm. I’m just saying
@@bella7769 ok then sorry I thought you were mad I personally don't like the show but I see why others do
wait since Heather Duke is dating Kurt, that would make Kurt actually actually gay or bi? so what do they do for the Kurt and ram suicide note if Kurt actually is queer and everyone knows it.
Its a reboot and they did it differently. Id tell u but then it would spoilers lol
Agreed. Holy shit.
In this , Heather Duke is genderfluid
dave307 I don’t know there are a lot of mistakes
@@resarious6225 pls just tell me. I ain't planning on ever watching this show.
This dialogue is really try hard. He used like 3 metaphors to say he cant date him. The overcomplicated language stifles the genuine emotion. I havent seen this whole series but I'm assuming this gay character probably speaks in an over the top and complicated way all the time. If so, it would be more compelling to see him struggle for words when hes going through something difficult.
This is a comedy, not an romantic and realistic show. She doesn't talk like this all the time, she was just trying to sound smart and serious(In her stupid way to do it lol), and she is the best and funniest character in all the show, and I actually recommend you to watch it.
Heather is hiding his feeling, or what he really feels, behind his snark and sassy image. But he has to project that sassy mean image. That seems rather obvious, but well I know the context of the scene
boy_wells Because of the message of the original? The show is using the Heathers title, and the original Heathers were awful people in the original. Yeah, each of them had some horrible stuff happen to them, but that didn’t excuse some of the stuff they did. Putting people of minorities into a villainous role isn’t putting out a very good image.
@@boy_wells9339 it’s not the fact that being genderqueer is bad. It’s just that having Heather Duke (a character that’s SUPPOSED to be a very privileged character who’s supposed to be an asshole to anyone she assumes is beneath her (which is... practically everyone)) as a minority contradicts the original since she’s supposed to be (key word) *privileged* . The same can be said about the other Heathers.
@@randomuseraccount_1824 i get it
I LOVE MY DEAD STRAIGHT SON!
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Well I think Heather duke is gender fluid in this one so technically it would be “I love my sometimes gay son”
The voice cracks got me😭😭
sammme
wait..... so Kurt is gay? So what does Veronica's suicide note from Kram actually do then if everyone already knows he's gay?
Caitlin Wickens Then it kinda seems more real I guess
JD wrote his suicide note because he walked in on him planting bomb in the basement. He portrayed Kurt's suicide as an act of distress since Heather Duke broke up with him.
I Want Izuru Kamukura To Step On Me not really the correct story line but okay 😂😂
You should probably give it a try though! It's actually pretty damn good past the pilot episode. Honestly, no one would watch it if it was a complete carbon copy of the original heathers, the message is still the same, but a little adapted to show how America's pretty messed up when it comes to media dealing with situations.
Honestly, I thought it was gonna be shit, but it really isn't that bad
@@EvakiVT Exactly! Heathers as a show would be EXTREMELY boring, as basically everyone that would watch are the original Heathers fans, so they made the plot literally the opposite from the original, breaking everyone's expectations.
The only gay kurt i appreciate is *KURT HUMMEL*

@@sujushineephanboy1934 they could've said 'Inspired by Heathers"
" My son's a heterosexual, and I love him. I LOVE MY DEAD STRAIGHT SON!!!"
I hate the reboot but Kurt and ram have for some reason always been favorites of mine in the movie and even musical. I'm really happy to see them more developed instead of me and my friends just making headcanons for them and building their characters off of our own thoughts and stuff. This is pretty cool to see even if it kinda sucks ngl
SAME! I’ve had a strange appreciation for them in all they’ve been in. Heck, I even cried when they were shot. I feel they deserved more development in the movie and especially the musical.
@@maebyklausanddad596 that's so true! Totally agree

Ok actors in highschool movies tend to look a bit older since they are but this guy looks like he's 35 and divorced
Being publicly humiliated by Brendan Shannel is my kink.
Okay but, the heart break in Duke’s voice.

Who
WHO THOUGHT THIS WOULD *EVER* BE A GOOD IDEA??!
That voice crack tho-
I know everyone in the comments is fuming over the fact that Kurt is gay. BUT HES SO CUTE THOOO!!
True🔥
This scene made me cry
I feel like this is an amazing story on its own. By making Kurt gay, it tools away from his suicide. Kurt and Ram committed suicide because of feeling not accepted by their society (well, at least, y know) I feel lie they should just create their own brand instead of using Heather's brand and call it inspired. I feel like in that way, it won't give the show a bad rep, because its a shame since the show is good on its own
I thought heather McNamara and kurt were sort of together??
Imagine wanting to push a political message so bad that you straight throw away any sense of realism
This was the height of unrealistic it was pure cringe. This show shouldn't exist it's leftism absolutely gone mad !!!
@@sentfromupabove (apologies for the necropost, but i've sort of been on a heathers kick recently so)
man even us leftists aren't amused in the least by the way this reboot tried to shove minorities into (mainly antagonistic!) roles and assume we'd just like it because the minorities existed. the nonwhite, gay, and trans communities deserve way more than their identities just being used like props in this way.
Wow this is sooo bad I can’t even🤣🤣 who though this was a good idea I’m soo sorry Winona
Literally when they're like only put in clips they seem horriblw, but when they show to full episodes somehow *it just works and becomes good*
SAME DUDE
Kelly and Duke deserved better!😭
Nah Kurt x ram forever
Better the REAL Heather Duke (savage female Shannen Doherty/Alice Lee) way more than this millenial angst bullshit (¡and I'm Z!)
In the reboot Heather C told Heather M to shut up but in the musical Heather C told Heather D to shut up.
Ok bye
Is anyone else think heather looks like Kurt from glee 😂
I love this Heather Duke. I haven't watched the show, but I like that it includes a human nature to the Heathers. Duke was obviously upset about the breakup but felt pressured by the roles that her/him? (Again I don't know pronouns due to not having the network to watch the show on) and the other Heathers have to keep up the image that society tells them they have to be.
I've seen a lot of hate going towards this new series, but I don't agree with a lot of it. Yes, the Heathers are now from minorities, but there's also a lot of other things playing into how they're acting. There's pressure to be popular and above everything/everyone else, perhaps acting out to make up for insecurities of being in these minorities. I love the humanization that is shown throughout the clips I have seen and find it contrasts heavily with both the movie and the musical. There's time to think about why the Heathers do the things they do and why they think the way they do. And to those who think that these minorities are offended by being used as a bully, I'm genderqueer and I am /flattered/ that we're represented in this show.
All in all, good job Paramount Network!
Shoot me a message, I can help you find a link to watch the show! I've seen the whole thing and honestly? It's worth watching. As someone who's genderfluid I was so happy to see someone on the spectrum at least on the show, and there's more to Heather Duke than meets the eye, especially from this scene alone. The Heathers are more human in this show and it shows - but only if you watch the series from start to finish, then you'll see!
@@AlastorsRadioWaves Agreed!!
Heather Duke is the almighty bitch, she isn't supposed to have feelings. Just another reboot trying to imitate the popular movies.
And failing miserably
Same, the Heathers are gray in this version. I'm pan and I actually loved the representation, and the Heathers aren't the only to be from minorities, for exam, Kurt is gay and he is the cutest bean on this show but still is a dumb football player like in the original, and Ram is straight but as nice and cute as he is. And the Heathers are better than Veronica and JD on this version. At the end, we see them in some sort of heaven when the two are obviously like in hell. To me it was showing that even if they were mean sometimes, they didn't do it in purpose to hurt people but because they were afraid. And the dinvin thing that juged them have been able to seperate scared kids from dangerous and mean psychopaths
I can’t believe that’s Rick Tyler from Stargirl
Am I supposed to feel something? Is this supposed to be funny? I don't understand. I feel nothing but pain.
No no. It was suppose to be painful ;÷;
Why pain? I haven't seen the show yet unfortunately but do want to, I'm curious why you feel pain about this one scene? I don't know the context so I don't know if something that set this up was poorly written maybe. From what I have seen I am liking this different version of Heather Duke. From what I can tell this show feels like a big what if type of thing for Heathers where they have taken the classic story and twisted it which seems interesting as a way to make a new thing but also related to Heathers.
I actually love this show. Stop hating and just watch it, it’s actually good.
I watched a couple of episode.
It has its flaws here and there but it's pretty good.
*especially Veronica. LIKE DAMN she's a goddamn sociopath and **_I LOVE IT_** . Hell even when JD was gonna kill her (yeah know, when she faked her death) and gave the speech was cute and sad, but when she opened her eyes and got off JD just went "Oh damn" I couldn't stop laughing)*
Hahahahahahah. So funny.

Kayla Omer Watch the movie and musical and you’ll see that it’s not living up to what its calling itself
So he is actually gay in this one?
Joseph Agar Sorry to reply to your message after nine months. But in case you never found out, Heather Duke is gender fluid so both pronouns (he/she) and you can call their relationship gay or straight. But the show kinda reversed their roles from the source material. Movie: Everyone knew both the jocks died after spreading false rumors of sleeping with Veronica after harassing her. The forged suicide note inspired the line and later a musical number, “ I love my dead gay son.” In the TV series, in the first episode they make fun of this line a bit with “I love my dead straight daughter.” What time I’ve learned to appreciate the series more. If I had just gotten a longer version of the movie or musical, I wouldn’t have been satisfied because it is the same thing again. I like the gay and LGBTQA twist.
@@lurkingShadows They're both males so it's most definitely gay

Honestly? Duke treated Kurt like shit.
This may be a bad show but these two were such good characters
Who the fuck will ever dump Kurt?? Like wtf??
the voicecracks tho
An attempt at emotion lmaooo the mountain lion thing was ridiculous ...
Didn't they change the heathers for "diversity?" It feels like a push. The OG heathers were originally non-perfect and showed the toxicity of misogyny on women. Duke had an ED to fit womens beauty standards, Mac was pushed to suicide because she couldn't be the perfect happy girl everyone wanted and had to beg her friend to help her get out of date-r*pe and chandler was CONSTANTLY used for her "perfect body." I am not shaming the actors, but the OG heather's being "perfect women" was the whole point since it caused them suffering. Replacing heather duke with a stereotypical queer MAN ruins the whole point of duke since her character revolves around misogyny pressed on her.
The point is, popular individuals today aren't confined to the stereotypical image of blonde, skinny girls. The narrative has evolved to embrace diversity - popular girls can be black, plus-sized, gay, or from various backgrounds. In 2020, the dynamics have shifted; it's not about perpetuating outdated stereotypes. Also, considering today's reality, the notion that only white kids misbehaving fits the popular narrative is an outdated perspective. The landscape has changed, and our understanding should too.

They're both different, and it's toxic / harmful to believe that. If someone identifies as a woman, they're a woman and go by she/her. Their sex / body doesn't matter.

Yowane Haku This tv show would be great if it was its own show, but its suppose to be heathers. Of course its great they're including different body types, lgtbq+, ect. But the heathers isnt the people to do that with. They're suppose to be "perfect" (of course, im not saying that having a different body type, or being in lgbtq+ isnt "perfect", im saying that the heathers stand in the stereotypical "perfect girl" while adding a twist that makes sense. Again, im not against the different features, but it goes again what the heathers look like and what their characters are.
Why do we need to continue rebooting old movies with completely different character types.
The original movie was a perfect slam on the 80s high school experience. The "Heathers" were terrible, vain teen bitches and making one a young gay male....takes away from the intent of the original.
