Thank you. I love the look of Pagan Otherworlds, but I agree about the pips. I’m an old woman, and while I love the multicultural aspect of Modern Witch, I don’t like the drawing style, but I also find it leaves me cold.
You got Pagan other worlds for free! Lucky! Lol That deck is SO expensive since it's OOP. I agree with you on the monosex theme. I kind of get your points on The Modern Witch Tarot. I'm loving the honesty in this video, it's refreshing!! I am LOVING that some artists are buying there knockoff decks in bulk and selling them through there shop so they can make there rightfully earned money. To me, that's hella punk. I don't really like most decks that are LGBT inclusive and I'm a gay man too. I don't know why though? The deck that I would really love to get is the sabbath tarot. I do REALLY love that King of Cups in the weiser tarot. I would love a Greek Art Nouveau deck but it would have to be more creative than just being an RWS clone. Ooooo I LOVE that backing of the Egyptian Art Nouveau!
That's great about artists buying their knockoff decks! Yes the Egyptian Art Nouveau is *almost* fabulous. I'm going to release a full review of it. I don't think it's as good as her other deck, the Golden Art Nouveau... I'm gay and I dislike most gay tarots! I prefer it if a deck contains just one or two gorgeous creatures, not too overstated (King of Pentacles in Golden Art Nouveau). The Sabbath Tarot is rather intense...
Dear Robert, I don't know why the comments to your latest video, '78 Keyword Clusters', are switched off, because the video is superb! A great learning resource for beginner and seasoned practitioners alike! Also, thank you for introducing us to new and unconventional Tarot decks. One is tired of the same old, same old lists mentioned everywhere else in cyberspace. My favourite deck from your selection is Le Tarot de Marseille-Waite, simply because I am drawn to Medieval imagery and I appreciate the painted look of the cards. Blessings, Sonia
@@NYCHFAN I did that, too. Mine were warped diagonally from opposite corners. I shuffled and shuffled every which way. Stored them with the cards alternating in directions to see if that could help the correction. The card stock isn't easily manipulated. It's better now but still bowed. It was one of the first RWS decks I purchased to learn with. I liked the representation of melonation. 😁
Loved this Robert ❤ I have the same feelings toward Modern Witch. Looking forward to your review of Egyptian Art Nouveau, it goes on and off my wishlist.
Thanks! And I'm so glad that you feel the same about Modern Witch, and it's not just me being old-fashioned. The Egyptian Art Nouveau is by a great illustrator, the woman who did the Golden Art Nouveau, and some of the cards are absolutely gorgeous. But it's so heavy with details and decorations. I wish there was a really good general editor at Lo Scarabeo who would give artists helpful feedback about their decks. About three quarters of the cards in the Egyptian Art Nouveau are fine, but I don't think I'll be using the deck for reading. Rx
Yes, your Modern Witch is a knock off. Pavlov's deck comes with a hardback book, too. That may be why it's higher priced. Card stock is wonderful, too. I love my Weiser deck. I love the colors. Your deck seems darker than mine. Maybe it's the camera? I only wish the cards were like the original RWS in their shuffleability. Mine didn't warp, but I live in a semi-arid climate with very low humidity. 😊 The Egyptian deck reminds me of my Golden Art Nouveau, only brighter and prettier. Ooh, the Japanese deck! ❤ I'm pretty much done purchasing decks, I keep going back to the same few decks, so I don't need anymore right now. Loved this video, and your shirt is The Bomb! 😊❤🃏🃏✨️
Speaking of Marseille/RWS mashups, have you seen Artisan Tarot's Rider-Marseille deck? It's pretty much the same idea as Le Tarot de Marseille-Waite, but in a faux woodcut style. The majors look more RWS based also. I'm probably not going to get it, but it looks interesting.
I'm very picky with my decks too. I have just started to get into Tarot and have 3 decks. One I loved for about a week-the Affirmators Tarot It defintely appeals to my 13 year old inner child with the colorful and simply drawn mostly playful animal images.Very poor card stock -bowed. Too big for my hands .Simply not a serious Tarot deck However having said this, I did a a few card spread for a family member, which resulted in them deciding to quit their job 😮 So now I don't ever underestimate the power of a reading
like you didn’t have 75 facimile Jean dodel decks you seem very sensible. i lke pagan other worlds and the Pav deck. but i have been trying to read marseille more so they are easier to read than pips. i do hate muddy decks. I find that it is best to keep up with people that are more interesting than totally in unison with my ideas. i love the tarot but totally from a skeptical perspective. I do read for friends and family , like your views , nice stones reading.

Yes, I wanted to like it but I can’t!
You’re my favorite tarot TH-camr. ❤
@@MarcusMonster1983 I appreciate that. :-)
Clever monologue. Loved the delivery. 👏🏼
Thank you!

Thanks Sonia! I must have switched the comments off by mistake!....

My Weiser Tarot also was a warped deck straight out of the box.
Oh how sad! I like the deck, but it's so dry where I live, decks only warp from heavy duty shuffling, but then I just shuffle them the other way. 😊

I agree with your reviews 100%! Also dislike blotchy dark dull cards.
Well I have recoloured the RWS myself, so I know there's no excuse for it.
Love the reviews and getting a chance to look at your decks - love the shirt BTW.
Thanks 🙂

My Weiser is very dark. I'm afraid I've recorded a very grouchy review of it, coming-out soon...

That's so funny you don't quite like modern witch. I was gifted it and use it every day! But i am a young woman and find it quite relatable.
I half-like it! I think the drawing and the colours are very good. Maybe I should try reading with it...
