I agree. I, too, am mesmerized by the chorus part. I’ve listened to this over and over again and I still get the goosebumps when Capri starts singing the chorus.
Amberian Dawn really do appreciate Chopin. It is noticeable in many songs :) This particular song is based on his "wrong note" piano etude. Great stuff.
Hi there! Ive been trying to figure out the harmonies/chord progressions for some parts of this song. Im curious as to why you find this particular song to be based from Chopin’s wrong note etude? Which part of the song is it derived from? (I’m kind of guessing it’s the main riff of the intro?) haha
@@PatriciaMiguela Hi, forgive the late response. Firstly, it is noticeable in other songs that Amberian Dawn are influenced by Chopin and classical music in general (can't list some of those songs at the moment but I know I've listened to their whole discography and often though "hey, this is Chopin!" or something else, haha). Both the Wrong Note etude and this song are in E-minor to start with. Both are in 3/4 meter. And the harmony is the same (the difference being that in Chopin's etude the main melody along with the embellishing notes (the "wrong" ones) create more tension. The opening of the song for example is (e minor: I; IV; D6-5; I4-3 then III; VI; VII; III4-3, or explained in chords: E minor; A minor; B augmented with the 6 descending to a 5 [G to F#]; E minor 4 to 3 [A to G, an appoggiatura] and then G major; C major; D major; G major 4 to 3 [C to B, again an appoggiatura]). In Chopin's etude there are more non-chord tones (or they can be treated as such, at least), for example E minor; A minor 7 to 6 (G to F#); B7 augmented 6 to 5 and back to 6 (B-D#-G-A to B-D#-F#-A and back to B-D#-G-A, also known as, believe it or not, the Chopin Chord :)); E minor 9 to 8 (F# to E appoggiatura), and similar with the next phrase, in the temporary deviation in G major. Do ask if I wasn't clear about anything :) Cheers
Nikola Kolarovski I listened to Chopin's wrong note , but i couldn't find any similarity between the two songs. I am not a musician , speaking only for what i listened to and the '' Golden coins'' seems to has a different tune from ''wrong note''. Anyway , both are beautiful songs.
Twilight comes holding a map to an endless highway Only lost souls stay looking for shelter Just the scent of a melted candle dares stay inside Where all the clowns circle the ring hearing the entertainers Sing Oo-oo come and see us Golden coins will free us So you pay to see us Take your seat and dream the carnival is here Oo-oo come and see us Golden coins will free us So you pay to see us Take your seat and dream the carnival is staying in town Painted veils cover the scene of missing memories The black stripes hang seeming alive A lonely wolf walks by the ringside serving false remorse Where all the clowns circle the ring hearing the entertainers Sing Oo-oo come and see us Golden coins will free us So you pay to see us Take your seat and dream the carnival is here Oo-oo come and see us Golden coins will free us So you pay to see us Take your seat and dream the carnival is staying in town The last dance, the last song Too much to grieve for, too much to pay for The last dance, the last song Too much to grieve for, too much to pay for No more Oo-oo come and see us Golden coins will free us So you pay to see us Take your seat and dream the carnival is here Oo-oo come and see us Golden coins will free us So you pay to see us Take your seat and dream the carnival is staying in town

Twilight comes holding a map to an endless highway

Just the scent of a melted candle dares stay inside
Where all the clowns circle the ring hearing the entertainers
Sing
Oo-oo come and see us
Golden coins will free us
So you pay to see us
Take your seat and dream the carnival is here
Oo-oo come and see us
Golden coins will free us
So you pay to see us
Take your seat and dream the carnival is staying in town
Painted veils cover the scene of missing memories
The black stripes hang seeming alive
A lonely wolf walks by the ringside serving false remorse
Where all the clowns circle the ring hearing the entertainers
Sing
Oo-oo come and see us
Golden coins will free us
So you pay to see us
Take your seat and dream the carnival is here
Oo-oo come and see us
Golden coins will free us
So you pay to see us
Take your seat and dream the carnival is staying in town
The last dance, the last song
Too much to grieve for, too much to pay for
The last dance, the last song
Too much to grieve for, too much to pay for
No more
Oo-oo come and see us
Golden coins will free us
So you pay to see us
Take your seat and dream the carnival is here
Oo-oo come and see us
Golden coins will free us
So you pay to see us
Take your seat and dream the carnival is staying in town
Love it *chest bump*
