@@_ENOVA curious how it'll be done since we have more than one choice there? (Personally I think leaving jaguar should be cannon imo , more longevity for their lives when all is said and done 😂)
I don't believe there were any competent Star Colonels after Operation Bulldog so she probably has the title of "only competent Star Colonel in Smoke Jaguar since Operation Klondike"
@@asm2750 I am sort of glad that the Falcons didn't they came up with some very cool mechs in the Dark Age and we almost got a Firestarter IIC under Malvina Hazen. No one else missed the point of the clans ways trying to limit atrocities like her, so I don't think we will get another chance at a clantech firestarter to roast infantry.
So to explain what happens to Emilie Wimmer in lore. For the next roughly 7 years she is stationed with the 362nd Assault to defend Kiamba in the border of the Combine. She remains Star Colonel of the 362nd until 3059, when Operation Bulldog was initiated. In Bulldog the 362nd were attacked as part by the first wave on Kiamba. The Inner Sphere wanted to make an example of the cluster that lead the conquest of Turtle Bay. So they deployed EVERYTHING. They deployed the 1st Genyoshoa, the 11th division of the Comguard, the First Kestrel Lancers, and the Third Drakons. Her inaction to not deploy her Omnifighters let the Inner Sphere land without any difficulty. Needless to say, having roughly a brigade and a half fighting a Cluster Emilie Wimmer's force was completely annihilated. She drops out of the lore after this so it is safe to assume she is dead. She survived Tukkayid, She survived Luthien, but THIS was too much for her to handle. Those who nuked a planet from orbit would see an ocean of metal being dropped on them from orbit.
As a German Battletech Fan i can admit that the Bloodname "Wimmer" originally meant a person who dedicates his life to work on the Churchs Land or a for a religious task. I am not sure if the Storywritters were aware of this but this particular bloodname suits very well for the Star Colonel
Gigi, I appreciate your perspective on the lore and fans. It is refreshing to see someone doing film/acting who understands and values this. So often, especially female actors, will not focus on this and instead prioritize political messaging, or redefining what the universe needs because they feel like it focuses on the wrong things. I admire your dedication and truly appreciate your willingness to work with what we love, and not use it as a bludgeon to achieve other motives.
Emilie is one of the more “reasonable” Smoke Jaguars, especially when lined up against Perez and Weaver. It sucked what happened with Liam, but she was completely right to put her foot down on Mia and Jayden’s protesting.
I am really happy with the direction of this game. Looking forward to more story telling of the BattleTech universe. Amazing voice work and acting Gigi!!!
So you like the worst look, direction, and gameplay in any mech game ever? Dude this game is a walking DEI cultural marxist abortion of the Clans, Mechs, and the Battletech universe. PGI hates Mechwarrior and the fans, they purposely shit on chances to make good games to foster communist Canadian talking points instead of focusing on the lore and good gameplay. They refuse to listen to adoring fans and blow their code of conduct with continual garbage
If she is truly genuine in what she says, it's great to see. The battletech universe deserves to be told by those who are willing to dive deep and invest into it's lore. Hats off, great game.
I have to say, I'm really impressed by how well most of the voice actors managed to understand the characters. A Smoke Jaguar officer is absolutely going to be afraid of her superiors and take that out on her underlings, since brutality is the rule of the day. (Meanwhile, the Ghost Bear Star Colonel is organizing s'mores day and trust fall exercises.)
And that is why the Wolves hold and control Terra, and the Ghost Bears do not. They would rather be complacent and content with what they have. No ambition left in the Bears, ever since Bjorn Jorgensson took over. 😂
Thank you for lending your voice! I just finished the game, and it is exactly what I hoped to see since MW2. Please make more stories from the lore come to life with these games.
Oh NOW we're talking... Making original characters with actors, that's one thing. Blank slate, no issues there. Existing canon characters with sometimes multiple books of material to them? Thats where things get INTERESTING.
I'm going to be 100% honest and not offensive, but I wasn't expecting a Latina Doll to be the voice actress, which only speaks to the vast talent this lady has, she portrayed a Clan Star Coronel with the energy and stature that I would expect from a Combat Veteran. Kudos to Miss Guerrero.
I LOVED the cast. I loved the story. I'll pay for dlc right now. Ive been the game 3 times already, I want DLC. Hurry up pgi! But patch the game out of bugs first. But give me dlc!
Well done. Loved hearing your own voice compared to your acting. There are hints that its you but well done on your performance! Keep up the great work. Looking forward to more!
Officers (especially in the Clans) aren't supposed to express their emotions and personal secrets to each other. They are professional military AND the Clans don't have a lot of sympathy toward emotional hang ups. Emotions (outside of martial ones) are considered vulnerabilities and "freebirth".
Loving the visuals and story telling of Clans. The thing Im having trouble with is adjusting to the different control scheme over MW Mercs. I had been marathoning Mercs ahead of this game, so struggling with the controls in this one. I bought on Xbox, so this is controller play. Any tips on adjusting the controls layout and sensitivities to help it feel a little more like Mercs? I realize there are more features so it can be one to one. But man Im just struggling to hit enemies when firing, versus being able to target specific limbs playing Mercs.
One of Battletech's greatest strengths is that the setting basically demands that everyone end up either as a terrible person, or dead, and often both. Once you've decided that someone is a terrible person who can't actually change the galaxy for the better though, you still have to try and make them the heroes of their own story, and _that_ goes a long way into making them interesting.
Questions: - will the DLCs be about the entire Smoke Jaguar campaign (Battle of Tukayyid and defeat on Huntress)? - will we have DLCs about other clans? - new mechs: we got (almost) all mechs from MWO Invasion wave 1 to 3. Will we get the garrison mechs and the 2Cs? will new mechs be available only in their DLcs or avayable in the original campain? Note: the new armor system and the simulator ..... fire whoever invented it.
Stop showing off a broken game that you should not have released yet. Fix first, next marketing. It is extremely embarrassing to have such an awful release, the controls being so frustrating and impossible to change in any way on console is completely unacceptable
Star League has been dead for close to 300 years at this point, mate. They don't show up at ALL in the lore until AFTER the Clanners roll in. And thats the SECOND Star League too.
Then how would you write it? Don't forget that games have to be appealing to all players, not just a tiny group of purists. As someone who knows a bit of BattleTech, this game's writing does a really good job of being accessible to the casual audience whilst remaining faithful to established lore. If you want complete lore accuracy, don't play any of the BattleTech/Mechwarrior computer games then.
The writing was pretty good with the lore. Granted our group wasn't pure Jaguar purists, yet that helps with connections with those who do not know much of the deep lore. They used terms and sentence structure that was ingrained I'm the clans very well. Along with showing ans telling that there is an edict structure of the clans. It is not pure clanner but it is pretty good.
