Ever consider a "greenfield" map where we can build in phases? Phase one, we build our own farms and farming community, then in phase 2 we build a small town, then suburbia, then finally metropolis
Thanks! Yeah I discovered the empty lots area great as placeholders, but can also tell a story of a city that's maybe seen a decline, or plots that were allocated but never sold. I found that a lot of dust bowl towns like in Western Kansas or Eastern Colorado will often have these types of features. I figured it would be a nice touch, and it gives me a lot of wiggle room for when I want to increase density in the future. Because of the detail I'm putting in too, it encourages me to be a bit more attached to each development, and if I need to redevelop it, it'll be a lot more work. Sort of a way of encouraging me to find creative solutions in areas that need renovating without bulldozing everything.
Really loving the detail of this new series! Great start. One suggestion--can the time-lapse be slowed just a bit? I had to actually stop the video a few times just to let my eyes reset because of the speed. Thanks!
Great feedback! Yeah, it's something I didn't consider while editing, and the intro episode was a bit packed. Episode two doesn't have to cover as much ground, so it should be easier on the eyes!
@@RaftermanNZ Great to hear! Really looking forward to where you go next. It reminds me of the tiny town where my grandparents lived in the Canadian Prairies.
It’s great to see that my UK Region Pack assets work so well in a US inspired build. I look forward to seeing how else they can be used and to see how your build progresses. Great work so far.
A tip of where to go next is more residential housing and lower income housing for the Ag workers such as a trailer park complex or company subsidized housing.
I like this video style that you have. You talk when you need to. The music in between is soothing as you watch. You add in the chapters; so I can skip to the next build if I'm getting the gist of what you're doing on the current one. I'd keep doing it this way for a little bit. Thank you for sharing your joy and work with us.
Thanks for the feedback! It's also easier to edit this way. I'm exploring ways to also make the hyperlapses a bit easier to watch (without so much spinning), but for now it seems they satisfy the primary goal. :)
Great first episode! I love small town builds. Really good detailing! I also put a train engine in my park for my Baseball complex build! They make such a nice feature that highlights the history of the town.
Incredible! Love the way you combine the building props to create unique looking buildings. You have inspired me to try some new techniques! Well done. I look forward to following the series. 👏
Thanks!! I might do little blurbs here and there to highlight specific tools if I can get the channel to grow. I struggle with the free time to do all the things I want to do though.
Love this video, what is the name of the mod you use to sink those buildings into each other. I like the idea of mixing buildings to create new unique one but how do you sink them into the ground like that.
Check out mods by Qoushik on Paradox mods, Static Ploppables, then you can use moveit to get it into place. I bit finicky though as I don't think Move-it lets you cycle through props your mouse is over. So you'll have to move it in one go usually.
You need minimum sidewalk sizes (for now), for grass to be possible. Same with medians. I also use empty lanes to equalize the street widths. Finally, grid size is about 144m x 112m.
when you move the building down in 5:25 mark, i guess its with "page down" but if i do this, there will be a hole around the prop and it will ruin the illusion
That sounds like you're moving the building itself and not using the static prop mod. The static prop mod turns the assets into props that don't conform the terrain.
There isn't a mod, it's default in the game. Use find it, sort the props. I can't recall off hand what they're titled, but that section of the video you might be able to see the title of the asset to search within find-it.
@@RaftermanNZ oh okay weird i never find them but i was thinking it was a mod because it have a logo on thé right oh every junk props. Anyway thx for your répons and i love the vidéo it was great. 👍🏻
It's in the description. 👀 Those are quite handy to comb through. But performance wise, the main culprits for lower fps is motion blur, depth of field, and view distance. Handle those, and I think you'll play just fine.
It's Bay Port, a map I made that's out in Paradox mods. :) Check out my channel for the video. Note though, the mountain version isn't public. I might in the future if I've got the time to make another release.

Are you saying like a collaborative type project?
@@RaftermanNZ could be fun, I'm not sure what connects you have, but I'd love to see a map go through phases like that.
I mean that's a really cool idea! Could be fun to do one day.
Great stuff mate, I loved this map when I saw it and your building is super! Looking forward to more
Cheers man! Glad you liked it. I'm stoked to finally be building something on one of my maps.
This is fantastic. I love the empty lots and storytelling details -- yours is one of the most lived-in projects I've seen so far, even at the start.

what an absolute banger! I am so stoked you got this series out for us! I can;t wait to see what you build next!

I just built out a whole section last night and it looks amazing with these assets. I'm super thrilled with how it worked out.
Stunning build so far! The level of detail and realism is insane.
Cheers. :)
great start to your first series, well done!
Thanks! Lots of inspiration from the way you work the assets.
A tip of where to go next is more residential housing and lower income housing for the Ag workers such as a trailer park complex or company subsidized housing.
Good tip!
I'll probably move to that soon, admittedly, I haven't been terribly interested in that detail, but I'll explore it!
Whoa, this looks amazing! :D Looking forward to seeing this town sprawl!!
Me too! Thank you!
Oh now that's some nice building and detailing there my friend! And aren't those StatikNoize decals absolute bangers?
Oh ABSOLUTELY, they're a game changer for me. Makes me want to get some decals made up of my own. Sooo many things we can do.

Indeed! Maybe soon I'll get a twitch build going with this too.
@@RaftermanNZ Btw there are net lane mod to use that are much better at placing fown fences then using the line-tool.
Let’s goooooooooo!!!
@BrettMcReavy cheers bud!

Looking forward to publishing the next episode!
I wish I could build like this!
You still can! I wanna see North American boom towns be the new meta.
Maybe a wooden fence in the baseball field outfield with ads .it also needs those uncomfortable bleachers.
Splinter fence?
@RaftermanNZ aka bad news bears Chicko's Bail Bonds.
"im gonna make a north american themed city!" proceeds to put trash everywhere and make the roads shit lmao

First ;)
Sully gets to be the first monument in Monument County because he was first.
ha!

How to get overground powerlines on the road?
They should snap to the road when you place, either that or you enable anarchy mod. But I noticed they tend to snap to the road automatically.
@RaftermanNZ thanks man. Its working. I hope there is a mod coming for powerlines on the road
