  • The Toyota 4Runner has been such an off road icon that has gone unchanged for many years until now. Under the hood is a 4.0L V6 producing 270 HP & mated to a 5-speed automatic. transmission. It's exterior is built for the most rugged of terrain. It's interior has some updates that try to appease the people complaining over recent years. Has Toyota done enough to the 4Runner TRD Off Road? When every car reviewer is showing TRD PRO, thank you for reviewing the Offroad trim! I thing this is the best trim and value for money. The 5K you save over the Pro can be used for lift kit, BFG KO2s and underbody protection and not to mention KDSS which is not available on the Pro.

    • @aaronqueen55
      @aaronqueen55 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Kevin James: oh man, I forget. Umm, I know moonroof is an option for premium but not the other. Kdss might not be an option for the other, but is for the premium. The Toyota leather seats. Heated front seats. Umm, that’s all I’m comfortable with saying without risking being wrong. I’m sure you can see all the differences listed somewhere on the internet.

    Great review Joe ! I have had two 4Runners in the past, a 96 and 2004. Loved them both. Put over 300000 miles on both. Happen to own a lifted 2017 Tacoma TRD Sport right now. When retirement gets here in a few years and my wife and I go to one daily driver it will probably be another 4Runner. Thanks for all your hard work putting out these great reviews at a staggering rate.

    Cupholder on the engine... hahaha! I love your humor Joe. I have a 2007 4 Runner Sport and love it. Mine is a V8 and that is something I wished Toyota would not have dropped in their newer models. The suspension is awesome on rough city roads and can fly over speed bumps. It's old but solid and has been very reliable. It will be interesting to see if Toyota does another refresh when the Bronco comes out.

    I have a 2004 4Runner Sport with a 4.7-liter V8 that I purchased new. It has been rock solid reliable and is still a pleasure to drive. The best part is that I haven't had a car payment since 2007. I am definitely curious about a redesign, and I hope Toyota lightens it up, adds more tech (like lane tracing and adaptive cruise) and gives it a more efficient engine that has a few more horses. If they can do those things, I'll be buying a new 4Runner to drive for the next 15 years.

    Your title said 2020 major change review. You could have just pointed out what's actually new compared to the 2019 4runner, but you could have just used a 2015 trail when your talking about outside the car. Your pointing out things that already exist on a 2015 trail editiion.

    Don't like all those gizmos and doo-hichkies. I bet it has an electric parking brake. Push button start is unnecessary and silly. At least they kept the manual 4x4 shift lever. I had a 2004 Chevy Silverado and the 4x4 power engagement was the first thing to go out.

      Push button start is a valuable feature for me... I will be using mine as a delivery service for back country up in snow country, with residential neighbourhoods here and there. The peace of mind knowing that a/hole can’t jump inside and take off with my 4Runner while I’m dropping off a package at someone’s door? Priceless.

    I don't like the 'bug eyed' look of the headlights on a 4Runner and/or Taco. Nor do I like that fake side vent on the 4Runner as well as fake hood scoops on all Toyotas. This thing has the aerodynamics of a brick. Great review though. 👍

    I'm all for if it's not broke don't fix it but Toyota lacks in a lot of areas, thankfully they have their reliability to stand on.. it's like Toyota remains in the past decades with subtle changes and charges you more for something other car companies have had for years.. They can appease to their customers a lot better then they do now, in one ear, out the other..Toyota = dated, the only vehicle that beats Toyota in being dated is Nissan Frontier- Raitis rides is also one of the best youtube channels
