i have a 1960 split level we bought from the original family and i upgraded some stuff but for the most part kept the original style and theme of the house. Might not be impresivve or something to brag about but it is a nice place. Did have to draw the line on a pink sink and a pink toilet. I think the craftsmanship in 1960 and materials in many ways was as good or better than what we see today.
Craftsmanship is a key. Not everything will be equal in that aspect but if you are invested in having it and staying true to the home and its style, you absolutely can find someone to help continue that.
Had to laugh about the pink toilet. I had a 1950's adobe house that was actually featured in Better Homes & Gardens back when built. One bath was all pink high-end Crane fixtures. We wanted to replace the toilet with a new higher & extended one keeping the 50's look but just try and find a new pink toilet today. Well what went with pink in the 50's; you guessed it black. Those are easy to find, fit in well. Anyway, the story gets better. Due to the occupation of the original owner, location of house etc., there is a strong possibility the toilet may have been used by Marilyn Monroe! I couldn't trash a toilet with that supposed fame it so I put it for sale on Craiglist with that possibility in the description. One very serious fan bought it and did not care if the story was true or not. The possibility was enough for her.
@@Jabpancho-om9sd it was in the half bath in the basement. pink toilet. Pink sink. Plumber replaced them both with white regular stuff and it sure helped the look.
Stunning property! Your presentation/commentary/camera work was excellent, and I enjoyed watching and listening. You know your stuff, young lady, as you cracked through 60K subscribers! Well done! :>)
Stunning home Audra, and I love actually seeing how all the white ties everything together. Congrats on the 60K subscribers - you definitely deserve it.
I love those dividers between the dining room and morning room. They create beauty, subtle privacy, style, and interest while at the same time keeping the openness between the two rooms.
@@AudraLambert do you think it’s the same sheen throughout? What are your recommendations? Eggshell on walls and semi-gloss on trim used to be the standard but now I see a lot of eggshell on walls AND trim. Thoughts???❤
Everything about it is spa-like, absolutely a stunningly beautiful place. Undoubtedly, the concepts are transferable even to lower-budgets. Quality and thoughtful choices. Love this channel and always glad to see a video pop up. 🙌🏼
Ahh..thank you so much for your comment. Yes, you can always take inspiration from the touches in this home even on a lower budget. Thanks for the comment.
The house has beautiful features. I think some sections of the house need more greenery and a few more staging items to warm the house up just a bit. The home looks immaculate and well maintained.
LOL of course we know what you mean but I've come to opinion that many don't have 'the eye' to create something like this (on much lower budgets, which most have) because they've never seen it. HTMS.
I put a pressed tin ceiling in my dining room. I had to paint each side to avoid rust. We were in PA. People loved it, but maybe more common in North East.
Luv this..❤ I've always been a fan of classic and neutral.. Hoping to find a house with classic elements someday.. Some people think it's boring but you can splash a trendy colored pillow or throw. I like that you can accent any color with a neutral palette. I've always thought there has got to be a way to get some milage out of a classic cozy home. Some homes that fully embrace the trends look dated in just a few years.. I don't think it's worth it..
Love your channel Audra. What a nice walk through. You're really good at discribing concepts, feel and materials. Ive been a subscriber for a while and have learned a lot from you. Congratulations on your 60k mark. It will soon reach 100k. Thank you so much for showing this gorgeous property. Happy holidays ! 🎉
Iam trying in my head to marry the exterior to the interior..maybe i shouldnt..but bungalow, french country..cause i like the porch.brick.etc..then step in and really like a new home..thanks
Yes, the exterior is almost French Story Book style...but this inside is very classic. It blends well. I am a fan of brick. I know some people hate it. I love it.
Thanks for sharing such valuable information! I need some advice: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How can I transfer them to Binance?
Gorgeous house! Can you please provide me with the manufacturer and name of the quartz used on the kitchen countertop? I was under the impression that sellers should remove their expensive artwork and anything else valuable. Is it alright to leave expensive artwork on the walls for an open house and for showings? (I would remove all framed photos out on display and anything personal. I don’t own any artwork that is religious, political, or controversial in nature). One last question, we used BM White Dove on all the crown moldings, base moldings, and doors. We have almost 10 foot ceilings on the 1st floor). If we paint the walls White Dove also, should the two be in different finishes (e.g., Semi-gloss for the doors and moldings and either satin or flat for the walls)? Alternatively, would using the BM color which is 1 shade darker on the paint strip on the walls instead? Thanks so much!
ohh so many questions 1-kitchen back splash what is it made up 2 what kind of drapery is it please? 3- are those medicine cabinets in primary bath? what do you mean (game room) they clad it with linen (wallpaper?) ty I really hope you answer thank you
The backsplash is actually porcelain tile. The two types of draperies are fully lined...one is linen the other is a wool blend. There are not medicine cabinets in the primary bathroom. The is plenty of storage in the bathroom vanity. The game room is actually a fully padded wall...the material that covers the padding is linen. It helps absorb the noise. Its beautiful. Hope that helps.
@@AudraLambert wow thank you for helping me out. I just put in a new kitchen and wish I saw this. So now thinking what to do to fix it. Can you advise please 2- for the draperies are they a s pleat? 3 what is the wall padded with ?
I have quartzite in my kitchen and bathrooms. It is indestructible - I can put hot pots out of the oven on it with no problem. Doesn't need sealing, doesn't stain and it's beautiful stuff. Not nearly as busy as a lot of granite and it's a natural stone vs quartz that lots phony to my eye.
Love the bones, but a lot of it is dated to my eye. And this deal with neutrals, let me out! It seems cold and old to me. Yes, I'd have tears in my eyes from how uncomfortable I'd feel there. I guess if you have money for all this-resurfacing high end flooring, wood in the kitchen, coffered ceilings (ugh), quartzite, floor to ceiling exterior doors, all that lighting, and someone maintaining it to keep it "timeless," you're good to go.
Audra, wow a head turner. Coffered ceilings and killer windows. You did an amazing job showing us this house. Many thanks…
Thank you for tuning in.
That’s a beautiful home and yes it can all be done on a smaller scale for the more average size home.

Yes, about 30% of it was staged. We worked with the owners furniture. They had very nice furniture.
