This is like watching a documentary about "BATTLEFIELD" My favorite games ever
Thanks bro for uploading, I'm enjoying these! Happy new year!
What is funny is that the LAV-AD has been retired since the gatling gun has such recoil it caused cracks to propagate within the hull structure...
thanks for uploading these great military vids!! keep up the great work
The LAV is the canadian made version of the Piranha, a Vehicle designed by the swiss company MOWAG, which in turn was bought by the american company General Dynamics and renamed General Dynamics European Land Systems - Mowag GmbH!
So it´s the Canadian version of a Swiss design owned by an American company! ;)
Vielen Dank für den Upload!
@Skid00everest340 You are talking about the M551 Sheridan Tank. It was design to support Airborne troops as soon as they land on the ground. It is very light and it can fire guided anti-tank missiles and tank rounds on the same turret.
Wow. I guess the US Army should have kept the M113 in production or at least still use it in upgrade form. Sort of like what the USAF is doing with the B-52.
the singing talk of the commentator is entertaining. he's being so dramatic about everything... lol!
nice video i enjoied it!!
The LAV was licensed to be built in Canada, it was originally built by Mowag of Switzerland
It's not the wheels that make the most noise, it's the engine and usually tracks need more power than wheels.
originally Swiss company MOWAG designed it , Canadians have built the LAV under license
to be very correct its based on the piranha which was made in switzerland...
Very impressive air lifting.
Oh, didn't know that, thanks for the information. My thought was that, why can't they salvage some them if their being put out of service? :-)
LAV is what it is and Striker is the Model...
i bed the US finally get it that middleclass fast mobile tanks worth more than superheavy ones. as they did with the "BMP- strategy" : vast numbers of cheap reliable infantry-fighting vehicle with one platform and several purposes and heavy weapons.
@MrFinCraft But band tracks are one piece rubber tracks, sort of those used in some small agricultural equipment but much bigger. Would that still be noisy?
The M113. ;-)
the striker is based on the swiss pirania?
i did not know that...
i was always thinking it looks almost identical....
Just wondering, if a tracked vehicle has rubber tracks, would it be as silent as these wheeled vehicles?
i read the name of the vid and thought>>what do they have against wheels?
V-600, 150, and stryker hell yeah american weapons.
must have one for rush hour traffic
yup, your right, I missed the transfer.....I stand corrected
General Dynamics Land System just bought MOWAG, a Swiss company which designed the Piranha, which in turn is the base for the LAV!
It´s designed by swiss, modified by canadians, owned by americans...just because the company is american doesn´t make it an american design like Chrysler cars are not italian designed! ;)
Probably, but how about the fuel consumption?
the best version of all of these is the aslav and i am in no way byais lol but the aslav great
Yeah, I wonder why they didn't salvage them.
wasn't it designed before GDLS bought out the company?
Ok. So I guess the Stryker's a lot better for the missions the US Army are it than the M113.
they must have been either extremely jealous or really desperate ...
1:23 super steel lol
Detroit diesel is Owned in total by General Motors
@MrFinCraft Hmmm, interesting.
o exercito brasileiro é muito mais técnico, e sincronizado
it's based on the Swiss MOWAG 8x8
LAV is based on Piranha, not Stryker
BTR
but the m1a2 albums use a german gun.
Still 4 dislike this video
Firstly I wouldn't really call it an invention, rather a design.
Second it was designed 'in' Canada by a General Dynamics Land Systems subsidiary which is an American company.
So... I'm not sure what to say about which country made it I would tend to say American but still it was made in Canada.
It's kind of like saying a Big Mac from Mcdonalds made in Canada is Canadian..
Plenty of things are made by a single country, just not Canada lol
