I have to admit I'm a little new to Open E, but it does open up some new perspectives (no pun intended!). I think some of Joni Mitchell's songs are in Open E. I'm a big fan of hers, but her voice has such a wide range that some of her stuff is difficult for me to sing.
Hi there. I believe the song sounds in A major on the album so I’ve been playing it along with the album with a capo on 7 - as my guitars tuned to open D then capoed up. This creates A major. So if you re in open E put a capo on 5 and you can play along, doing the shapes you’re doing here, with the album. I think Dylan has an instrument of some sort doing an open tuning on the album while he plays A major in standard tuning. As you say Dylan also released a solo acoustic version in E major as well using open E tuning without a Capo which is like what you do here
Yes, that's right. The Blood on the Tracks version is in A Major. On the Blood on the Tracks recording, there are apparently three guitars playing, with capos in different places, using different chord shapes. I did a separate lesson about the A major Blood on the Tracks version of Tangled Up in Blue (th-cam.com/video/aMp2iU5eDkw/w-d-xo.html). But in the end, it just a case of playing the song in whatever way you enjoy it most.
Yes, perhaps the intro on this one was a bit too long... You can always use the chapters in the description to get to the section that interests you though.

It took six minutes to get to anything important. Please get to things quicker. We are not beginners. !
