Today we're building something big, epic and fast. We normally do Warhammer boards and dioramas, but today we're going crazy and pulling together a diorama for the Strike Freedom Master Grade Extreme at 1/100th scale.

You ever see a thumbnail on a TH-cam video and unconsciously whisper "Goddamnnn" to yourself?
Glad the thumbnail is readable as a thumbnail! I was worried
Lol just about every time I see a new MSP upload.
@@MSPaints stop that.
Yeah but this one is beyond anything I thought was possible 😮
“Goddamnnn”?
😅 Surely you mean “GUNDAMNNN”?
The production value in this video is S Tier for "satisfying as heck"
Cheers mate! Was a struggle to bring the edit together but it worked out nicely!
Exactly my thoughts! The camera sharpness, angles, lights, color correction... Ouf! Kudos to the channel owner
this fits kira perfectly and it's really impressive
After 200+ dioramas this year, I'm saying this is my favorite. I love the pose, the story told in the diorama, and the detail in everything.
Aaaaay thanks mate!
I love seeing mini painters doing Gunpla and Gunpla builders doing minis, its always fun to see what everyone bringing to the table
The whole diorama is epic and I get more and more impressed with every video my dude.
Cheeeeeers Paul!
Dude, this was so beautifully cinematic, it was like watching an actual film. Beautiful display and seriously informative, I actually really want to go try this now. This was freaking amazing.
Glad you enjoyed it, mate! And thnk you
Thank you for the Gundam content!
You’re welcome!
@@MSPaints Can we please get more Gundam content
Your camera work is so sweet even an animal like me noticed. And nice diorama by the way.
Thanks mate!
日本から失礼します。ストライクフリーダムにこのシチュエーションのジオラマというのが、また良いですね。キラが本当にやりたいはずの人命救助。本編では無かったIFが詰まっている感じがします。良い作品をありがとう。
It genuinely saddens me that too many people wont even give this video a chance as its "about them bloody gundams"
Huh? More like because Gundam is a super niche hobby outside of japan
That final pose!
Amazing!
It's like a screenshot from a movie!
Bloody Gundams! I hope you don't lose too many subs on this, Dave. The unwashed masses don't know what a joy these Bandai kits are to build compared to the nightmare of GW kits these days. Edit: You, General Sam, and Baumgartner Restoration are the only creators I actually watch the sponsored segments from.
Even if you dont paint them for the extra touch. Just clipping, sanding and press fitting master grade gundams together is such a relaxing passtime.
Gunpla has quickly become my new favorite hobby, next to tabletop boardgames and RPGs. They're just so chill to build, most of the time, and look great on a shelf in badass poses.
Man i really cant give you enough credit, you make great content. over the past 5 months'ish you reignited my passion for 40k and the hobby in general , pushing me to learn more and to do better with each project, convinced me more recently to get a 3D printer (Bambu P1P) and make a customised work space that is designed for me by me, which has sent me down a rabbit hole that i never thought id be able to do, giving me more love for everything to do with and around this hobby. on a more important note you've help me with depression, if its either rewatching your older videos on a playlist while painting (your voice in calming) or sparking new idea's that i can put time into and love the outcome. Truly if i had the money spare i would join your Patreon each month and support you. i love your channel. I love the passion. I love the love. keep up the good work :)
Glad I’ve been of help, brother! Sounds like you got a better printer than me, haha. The Bambu was the one I was hoping to review. I got the copy of it instead! No dramas on the Patreon, bud! The views, likes and subscribes help!
@@MSPaints I'm sure if you messaged them they'd send you one, you have pretty good traction.
after watching your video i was looking at that and a few others but for the price range and sale that was on i had to go for it.
honestly top notch and easy to use, haven't had any issues with anything that wasn't my fault. apart from bed adhesion which hair spray fixed. 10/10.
cant wait for the next upload. eager and patient. but please never feel like you have to upload anything that doesn't bring you joy. keep that fire alive my man :)
Great work and thanks for Gundam Content. The Bubblegum Crisis Song brought a smile to my face. Glad that im not the only one who remembers this series. ^^
Absolutely beautiful. And the pose... whole scene transmits some hope among the chaos. Telling a story. Congratulations. P.S. Video edit is over the top.
Before DnD, warhams, & all the other stuff.... yeah big Japanese robots were the win. I have a few kits I got in the mid-90's. 1 of them could transform from full suit gundam to a jet. The complexity in some of these kits is really nuts. Thx for another great video, those Japanese songs in the background really set the vibe.
They do! Some quality Dominion Tank Police tunes!
@@MSPaints That was driving me nuts! I knew those songs from somewhere, but they weren't from Gundam.
Now I know what I'm watching this weekend.
Since I haven't seen it, they're "water slide" decals, or transfers...
That said, holy shit, that's one hell of a build... Good on ya, sir.
how do you know if they're waterslide's or dry transfers?
@@GladiarOfDestruction I'm not sure what sort of distinction you're looking for here, but I'll give it a shot: Waterslide transfers are basically a thin printed plastic, using a paper backing for mostly logistics and handling purposes... The only "dry" transfers I'm familiar with get applied by essentially "pushing" them onto a surface by applying pressure to the backing paper, which, iirc, tended to be something akin to tracing paper, or are (usually...) die-cut, printed on a thicker material, and utilize an additional adhesive layer to affix the decal... The former of which I've not seen in a kit for literal decades, and the latter of which I've seen only rarely, usually with toys or cheaper scale model kits.
I love the touch the roadside flowers add to such a devastating scene. In the anime where the Strike Freedom kit comes from, one character remarks that flowers, no matter how beautiful, will always be blown away by someone. The pilot of the Strike Freedom replies that they can always be replanted, playing into shows themes.
The final product though... GunDAMN does it look good.
i used to build these like 6 years ago and generally painted them and what not but have recently gotten the bug to get back into it. I've been in this trip to viewing different creators and I LOVE everything about your video! Your voice, your cinematography, your humor, your descriptions, your techniques and experience and your art!
It's always great to see more Gunpla content from you. You really outdid yourself with the diorama, something about the colorful patch of nature next to the war-torn street really helped sell it as a Gundam diorama before the Gunpla even went down. Also, top-notch soundtrack, and camera work and effects on the final shot for this one!
I got this kit recently and it is amazing, such a fun experience for a build and so fun to get into dynamic and powerful poses.
you absolutely have to keep it poseable, it'd be a tragedy not to! so many moving parts and gimmicks, so fun to mess with and pose!
着地しているのに羽を広げているのは違和感を覚えますが、完成度はとても素晴らしいです!何よりもカッコイイ!
Aside from the awesome content and tips on terrain building, the soundtrack for this video is absolute 🔥
Thumbnail is absolutely divine.
Had 15 seconds of Gundam music and quotes in my head, interrupted by Dave's dulcet tones.
oh and the vid's good too!
Spraying the sprues the right colour first is an absolute power play. Truly, not all heroes wear capes. I'm Hamham through and through but I've loved every video dood, so you must be doing something right!
Also, please say 'undulations' exactly like that in every video from now on.
Strong moves. Bandai Japan didn’t complain though, but I imagine it confused them a smidge.
Absolutely legendary, I was already drooling over the Instagram previews, but this knocks it out of the park.
The track at 9:11 took me WAAAAAY back. BGC was the best!
Sorry can I ask what the track is? It’s so good!
To quote Dean Pelton "This better not awaken anything in me."
BUBBLE GUM CRISIS Themes!!!!!! PERFECT WIN!!! And from my favorite episode!
It's Friday, and I needed some hobby motivation, MS is on the Tubes. Its going to be a great weekend.
Loving the non-GW content! How about more Stargrave?
and here I thought it was gonna be a G-Saviour build...ohwell, this is still really cool
That's a live-action deep cut!
So I just get over my gundam binge and back into the hammers of war and now I'm on my way to dam guns 🤨. Anyway love the video dude
Definitely an ‘Elston finished building all his gundam and puts them on a shelf.’ New Gundam video inspires you. ‘Ah son of a bish!’
God that Diorama is awesome, Automatically upvote any gunpla content! Also the Japanese crowded TV spot with reaction can was spot on...
Such a cool model kit and is for sure a grail kit for loads of us Gunpla fans! I really like the pose you filmed and with your camera work, lighting, and rain effect it really evoked that sense of desperation and salvation those people on the street would be feeling. I would definitely keep the Gundam unglued if it were mine so I could change it around from time to time because my inner child would still want to play with it! Well done! Also, the roadside garden is 🤌
Fantastic, and that end pose was inspired.
On an Artis Opus vid, Byron was asking for collab suggestions and I put forward your name and he was well on board...not sure he'll be quite so keen after seeing you murder one of his brushes like that though!
I'm impressed with the quality and engineering that's gone into producing that Gundam kit.
It's insane. Been building them off and on for twenty years and still amazed.
If you ever have a chance, check out the "Perfect Grade" kits. They cost hundreds of dollars, but are worth every penny.
As always, another amazing looking build.
Just bought my first Gundam kits because of this video.
My bank account is going to hate you Dave
Welcome aboard soldier!
Great great reveal shots. Thank you for giving us time in the regular play through of the video at regular speed to really savor the final product. It seems like so many videos fast forward through the final reveal.
Bro beautiful work man. Solid but can I just say how I love your soundtracks man. Very nostalgic old school anime tracks!
New to all of this, but love the franchise. Great work! Those songs you played that sounded like they were from the 80's made me realize that the Golden age of scifi and fantasy are now behind us. Unless we build new ones ourselves. God bless.
I can't believe you only have 49k subs. This is top tier content man. You deserve more!
This is a recurrent thing I tend to hear about from people in the model Kit building Or Miniature war game fans That it is sacriledge to paint the gundam models but Gumpla fans Would encourage someone who wants to paint their kit a custom way. Wanna drill holes in it, Make battle damage, etc. It's all good.❤❤❤ Also love the use of a lot of 80 to 90 anime songs
In all the time I have been assembling model kits and minis, I have never had what looks to be the absolute pleasure of putting together a Gundam. What a brilliant kit, SO much wonderful detail! I have to give it a try now. Add that to one of your bangin dioramas and I'm drooling. Bravo, mate!
Epic in every way as always David-san! A lot to learn from this master I have **lens cap on, lens cap off**
Amazing model, great scenery, fabulous work!
I honestly cant wait to get back to gunpla building again. A lot of my time in the past few years has restricted that hobby due to limited housing space and shelf space. Getting a gf for sure affected that because I wasnt living on my own anymore and had to share a hobby room, I still love her though haha. Secondly, I have poured a lot of my downtime and hobby focus into the miniature hobby around the same time I met my girl a few years ago. Over those few years I have also sold off lots of unbuilt, built and painted kits. Most of those gunpla were things I didnt care for too much anymore, with the majority just being built and displayed with a sprinkle of early paint job pieces thrown in. With all of the new knowledge I have obtained from the minature hobby in terms of basing and set peices, Im really looking forward to jumping back in an creating some awesome diorama peices like this one here. Great work main!! This looks like you had soo much fun creating
You are seriously underated
Thank you! I try my best to be!
You always choose such wonderful music
I do try!
@@MSPaints you succeed, on a regular basis.
i know im in the minority, but i love when you take on Gundam projects, love it dude
Thank you!
Amazing work, you should be bloody proud.
Found myself gravitating toward Gundam kits more than ever, I think it's the gratification of having a 'complete' finished product when you don't have much spare time, THEN the freedom to go ham with the panel lining and weathering stuff later if you like.
I love that pose of your Gundam at the end. It's sad and beautiful
HOLY SHIT! this is amazing awesome work bro please do another
Great job Dave. What a lovely selection of songs, transported me right back to the 90’s watching some rented animes on VHS. Now I am stuck here.
I didn't know you built gundam, I've got around 60 now, some are over 30 years old, think 1991 is my earliest gundam , im still going through the older ones and have 4-5 new ones in my backlog
That ended up amazing. I really liked the rain shot you did, very dramatic
That's an effing beautiful!
Japan is closer than the uk to me so going to Japan may be an easier thing for me. Love all the Gundam. Thanks for the content.
Great Video and now i´m really hyped to try one out, too! I also love the rain effect in the end
Nailed it, Dave and the rain SFX in the video was a bloody nice touch too. Well done!
Lovely work Dave! Always enjoy the sound track to your videos as well.
This is a fantastic video, thank you! I've just started Gunpla myself, 3 months, 3 builds, going HG Aerial, RG God and most recently MG Barbatos and it's been really fun to test myself and grow. I've been eyeing up the gorgeous Strike Freedom MGEX, but ooft, ouchie! On the positive note, I now know of Wayland games! Thank you!
I lost it at your head bobbing along to Tony's ad spot. The little tilt at Japanse tv shows was bloody hilarious 😂
This is absolutely beautiful. The diorama itself, the cinematography, the soundtrack, your VO, the hilarious ad spot... Just perfect.
More 'Bloody Gundams', please!! I'd love to see what you can do with that old 80's Nu Gundam kit to make it something special, or really go to town on customising a Gundam build. Fantastic video as always, Thank you!!
Also the soundtrack choices were a glorious nostalgia trip. Could you post a list of the music you used?
The frog in the beginning automatically makes this video better
Phenomenal work Dave! Awesome build and video, 10/10.
Great display of creativity and talent here!
Watching this building my HG G Gundam the origin Zaku 1! Fully support gunpla-content on this channel. Warhammer is cool and all, but like you say, building gunpla just puts you in a good mood, as do your videos!
Thanks mate!
Turned out amazing man
Thanks mate!
Armor in gunpla is like option kits in miniatures. Sometimes it just feels nicer to let it all hang out. (Or buy 2 kits)
More Gundam! YES!!! That is an awesome kit and diorama.
How about a Barbatos and Godzilla vs. the Colossal Titan diorama?
Hectors bouncing head in the bottom right is to much fun. I'm a simple man.
Best soundtrack ever! Dave this is great - one of your best yet.
Very cool stuff. Editing and visuals are great.that pose is awesome
Her color is really beautiful..
Wow!! Master Grade Extreme??!! I would love to just see one. Let alone be lucky enough to build and display it. Great video. Thanks dude.
Miniature hobbyists, the community renound for painstakingly painting rocks like rocks. Now we're painting blue plastic blue! This hobby is reacking new abstract heights and I'm here for it haha
Semi-serious ability question: Do you find push fit easier to build as its all designed with ease of construction in mind, or does the increased pressure required to seat the pieces in place cause you grief? Asking because I find myself monodactyl for the next 10 weeks and I'd be interested to hear your thoughts.
Depends on the push fit mate. This kit is the most pleasant and well machined thing I’ve ever built. Just enough resistance to satisfy and stay in place, but it want ever fighting me. Most modern high grades also feel similar too, Witch from Mercury stuff is great. Building a perfect grade at the moment… that’s genuinely horrific and not a lot of it fits comfortably. I’d say there’s still a degree of articulation needed though. You may still struggle! But a high grade might still be fun!
@@MSPaints Thanks for the insight. I'm greatful this is only temporary but in the meantime I still want to hobby. Only tried GW or Revell pushfit before and they fight every step. (Revell less so but still hard even with two working hands). Thanks for the advice.
never made a gundam before, this looked like it was a lot of fun.
Love all of your content…. And this is no different. Awesomely epic diorama and Gundam 😊😊😊
@MS_Paints One thing that particularly stuck out to me in this video was @14:34, I had no idea anyone else knew about Shadow Skill what a good choice of music and a nice punch of nostalgia you dealt. Amazing diorama by the way =P
Sick Dave. Love the pose with him holding his hand out to them. Very tempted to grab a Gundam kit.
Stunning
I got my MGEX Strike Freedom through a JP middle man when it was first released. It took a week of 4 hours per day for me to straight assemble it, and I have been looking forward to painting it, thanks for the inspiration!!
Amazing work as always. I need to get back into Gundam building, those kits just look so damn cool. Really appreciate how you break down every element of the build as you go along. Makes me have to resist making runs to the hardware store every time.
I can watch these videos alllllll day
Awsome project, and als always: great video :D keep the Gundams coming!
fantastic work, i was suppose to wash dishes and brush my teef but your relaxing video makes me forget about time and my short attention span. keep up the good work!
That's truly awesome. Great work.
Incredible work😮😮
As a fan of dioramas and big robots as well, this video is ticking all the boxes for me. Awesome work.
Thank you!
oh my god!what a master piece!!!
Bloody gundam that good needs to be called Bastard Gundam! I want to build one now they look mint!
I rarely do this but you earned a like an subscribe for this video since I like gunpla building and diorama building.
Just as I thought Tony's advert sections couldnt get better, you had to go and turn it into a Japanese game show? God damn, you outdo yourself every time.
This build was so epic it put me and the missus into the mood
Love the advert emulating Japanese TV. Very reminiscent of my time there
very beautiful paint work it a work of art
Ah hell yeah. I haven't been this excited about a video in a while. Looks like you had some fun.
Looks amazing Dave, such a beautiful kit.
Cheers Matthew!
