Southbank is probably one of the best examples of a successful urban renewal project. shopping centres, restaurants, cafes, apartments and the southern hemisphere's tallest skyscrapers stand where factories and warehouses once stood. hopefully Fishermans Bend and Arden-Macaulay turn out just as good if not better, and hopefully they look beautiful in autumn too
I love how quiet and calm the streets seem after it's just rained in Melbourne - as if everyone is just 'waking up' to start their day, not the usual loud bustling chatter that you would hear constantly when you're in the city. It's nice.
