    Great show as always. I worked as part of a great team of mechanics back in the 90s in AVC in Bath. One in particular was a guy called Geoff, who was always gentle and kind when dealing with customers who owned old wrecker bikes that needed work. He had a great sense of humour and looked like an Extra from Mad Max, but had a heart of gold. The last I heard he had passed away, but I never forgot him, he made the workshop a fun and often philosophical place to be, even when I had a raging hangover! #mechaniclife

    I believe fox suspension does a good job at highlighting their mechanics. Their series on TH-cam has been great.

    My favorite Bike Mechanic is my long time friend from South Florida. Worked at the bike shop across the street from the trails for over 7 years until he landed a dream job at SRAM. Now a little farther away we don't ride together or talk as often but he remains my favorite Bike Mechanics and one of my best friends. See you on our trip LW

    Doddy just watched a video from Jordan Boostmaster he just got a 300 mm monster fork he temporarily put it on a old Rocky Mountain RM 9 frame so cool thought you would like to see someone with one.

    Factory Yeti mechanic Shaun Hughes (also known as "Polar Bear") the best tech I know, works at Cyclinic in Brisbane, Australia, when he's not travelling the EWS and E-EWS wrenching on Yeti's team bikes. Recently interviewed on EMBN Tech. Had a couple of Yeti's built by him several years ago with a few little "team touches" added in, sensational bikes!

    Single pivot all the way. If the design is good enough for the off road motorcycle world for the last 4 decades, that should say something. If I had the money, I would definitely own an Orange MTB. Love their bikes and they have the single pivot.

    GoPro should really bring back the Session line. If GoPros can go anywhere, imagine how many places you can put a GoPro Session with its form factor. It’s also less intrusive, making it arguably better for POV (helmet mount, a tiny tiny chest mount, bar mount facing you to see the terror after every massive jump).
    They don’t even need to go 4k 120p with it-4k 60p max with good stabilisation is all well and good.

    Seen a lot of Police forces use MTB's both in the UK and the US....would be an interesting episode looking into the more tactical use of bikes (I'm sure there are bike options for special forces and zombie hunters on sale somewhere..)

  • @michaelchristou968
    @michaelchristou968 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Have seen a few vloggers (Im sure Blake at some point) with the GoPro chest mounted for POV but with the harness hidden. Do they just butcher a jersey for the mount to pop through or use those magnetic snap mounts on the back of the jersey??

    Some hunters use fatbikes as transportation into the back country out west in the US. I remember an article in Outside a few years ago about just that - using an MTB as an alternative to an ATV.

    • @th_js

    Love my GoPro hero9! Really isn’t anything out there for action cams that really matches their quality and features.

    • @fatbikemontage2931
      @fatbikemontage2931 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think there are loads of action cameras with fairly similar features, but what works well with GoPro is the range of mounts and accessories.
      Garmin Virb was an excellent slightly different take, which overlaid performance metrics, but let down in terms of reliability and the accessories and mounts were too expensive.
      Currently have a Hero 8, which I am happy with, but I might just try a cheaper £50 special next. At least I won’t feel like I need to keep it wrapped in protective packaging at all times!

    Favorite mechanic is Isaac who is at the Spoke Shop in Billings, Montana. Bit bias as he is my son. He started as a builder at 16 in a bike shop here in Georgia and by the time he was 18 he was the Service Advisor.
    He only works as a mechanic part time anymore because he is a full time iron worker building steel buildings.

    Ever seen a Rungu? Look it up and you’ll laugh, then check out the weight of them and their payload and you’ll just drop. They are Ebikes, and one ugly monstrosity, none the less technically still a bike. I’ve only ever seen a few but it was quite a site to see a full grown boar strapped to one with a hunter dude peddling with a big smile.
