My wife and I were on an other Millennium class ship (Constellation) before the last refit, which had the accessible cabin laid out as you would expect. Don't know why they have changed it. Next year we are going on the Celebrity Silhouette. There the lay out should be "normal"
We also travelled on the Konigsdam and there the room was even stranger designed: no settee or extra chair, no table, so no opportunity for my wife and I to dine or have breakfast in our room. The Dutch designer happened to be on board but would not explain why he designed the accessible room like that. In the end we got a table and chair, so we didn't have to eat on the bed! @@wheelchairadventures8564
I recently went on the NCL and had a modified handicap cabin and it was huge (370 square feet) With a balcony big enough for two regular chairs and 2 lounge chairs. Did you ask whoever booked your cruise what the square footage of your cabin was? I could have lived in mine for 2 weeks.... Very Spacious This seems Like a terrible Cabin!
It does have a few challenges. We were able to get Maddie out to the balcony last night for a beautiful sunset. Backed her out and lifted the front wheels to get her back in. I’m not sure if a solo traveler could do it. We also were able to get her to her favorite side of the bed. Not ideal, but we did it.
It's so beneficial to disabled people that you put these videos up. Thank you both! Have to add that the bathroom looked grubby. 😞
You are welcome! The millennium is an older ship that is definitely showing wear and tear.

We are hoping they fix all the staterooms so there is a clear path for wheelchair users. It’s good common sense.

Strange room layout. Bathroom looks good, but otherwise it doesn’t seem very accessible.
