I’ve been following earnest for 20 years I think he’s one of the greatest of all guitar players in musicians!
I just want to share a special memory I have of this album. I was camping in Death Valley about 7 years ago and a powerful wind storm had been battering my tent all night. I put my MP3 player on and listened to music to help drown out the sound of the tent flapping. I had downloaded this Earnest Ranglin album but hadn't listened to it (I hadn't even heard of Ranglin before). I had dozed off when in the middle of the night the song "Anna" came on and infiltrated my subconscious. The song fit the magic of the desert night so perfectly it brought me to tears, I felt so joyful to be listening to something so perfectly beautiful. Thank you Ernest for giving me music that carries my soul to a higher level!
Beautiful story... have you heard below the bassline? th-cam.com/video/PcMx7o2_L7I/w-d-xo.html this was my first Ernest Ranglin experience..
@@TheNeissuh Great album but more reggae/sja rocksteady beat. This is more african beat Kora+guitar plus drum terrific fusion. . Both masterpiece. This as well: Memories Of Barber Mack.
I bought my fist Ernest Ranglin album back in the 70s - he is truly one of great guitarist of the last century, and very under appreciated in my opinion.
Thank you for sharing your experience.
Thanks for bigging up my fellow countryman. He was once rated the best guitarist in Europe. He can play rings around Clapton and Benson. When you get the chance take a listen to "Soulful Moments."
Music brings the people together.Musicians don,t fight. They play. Blessed Music!
