    This seems so simple yet I've just been upgrading at random like a mad man 😂. Thanks for this, I'm taking a more tactical approach to my upgrades going forwards!

    Genius idea! Never thought of doing developments this way but i think this is an incredible strategy that could be very useful for taking a back marker team quickly into the midfield

      It's early days but on my stream I was like "hang on, I'm going to waste loads of money for an upgrade that won't do much" haha

      @@pitlanes I think especially if you can time it right to help upgrade areas vital for upcoming tracks that this could be a really good strategy for a cash strapped team like William's. Already had planned to do a William's playthrough where we basically build the car for 3-4 races that already suit our car well and angle to try to score all our points during that stretch. With this tactic I can see us have a much easier time getting big results in those races, your strategy paired with timing our max allotted amount of atr period in the standings could be enough to sneak into the higher end of the back markers. I preordered f1 manager 23 but I'll get the game on the 31st, cannot wait to get my hands on this! Will be paying attention to the content you'll put out on the game going forward for sure!!!

      Oh yeah, I just bought the game. It's definitely much more challenging than last year's game -- cash matters now, especially when you're a backmarker team (I just started with a back-to-glory run with McLaren).

    Cost cap mattered in F1M22 as well. I've maxed out the facilities and only their maintenance costs $70M! Which is half of it. Add $20M for the engine, and you're stuck with around $50M to deal with for a whole year ... 🙄

  • @ege_1919
    @ege_1919 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Mate, that's a really solid strategy, I congratulate you.
    But I have a few questions. If we do it this way and jump 3-4 rows and close the gap (RBR, Merc, Ferrari), will this strategy work in the fight against them? Can we fight the top 3 in this strategy? As this path takes some time, and for the top row, this might put us behind the challenge of upgrading.

    • @pitlanes

    So my question is, do we intensify the design for the important parts (say underfloor), for example, or we design using the normal approach? Since we are saving money, it makes sense to intensify at least the underfloor.

    • @pitlanes
      @pitlanes  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I didn't mention going intense because I figured that's a per-player thing.
      If you have the cash & intend to develop multiple of one item, sure.

  • @aceair3281
    @aceair3281 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    How many times you do this per season for each part? For example, will you design a rear wing 3x before manufacturing it? Will you do that for each part? So around Baku and after the summer break you'll roll out massive updates to the car (i assume)

    • @pitlanes
      @pitlanes  ปีที่แล้ว

      I mean, there's no hard and fast rule. It's just a suggestion to save some cash. In my playthroughs I've just done chassis, underfloor & sidepods for Baku.

    • @pitlanes
