@@bvndmxn567 free games , change some system settings which you normally won't be able to ( only do this if you know what you are doing) , you can run older ps console games like some ps2 games and other stuff, also you can download mods of different games
To anyone getting the "Unable to find update" message, launch the ps3 in safe mode by powering off, holding the power button until it turns on and off again, and then holding the power button until you hear two quick beeps.

Got a PS3 the other day and modded it up tp 4.89 hen but wasn't all that impressed. Was going to use CFW but then the update came along. So had to wait. Was hoping you'd do a video on it as I didn't trust the other ones out there. Yours are so easy to understand and follow along. Will watch the hen update you promised and then decide.

Hey everyone I’m pretty sure you have an incompatible model. Such as the 3000 series of PS3 Slim is incompatible with CFW. He doesn’t mention this in the tutorial stating every single model works with the slim but this is absolutely wrong. You might have to download HEN instead of CFW. But I recommend checking what models work with CFW.
To any one who’s having the „can not be displayed“ problem -you need to be in the same (private) Wi-Fi Just pull out your Ethernet cable if you are linked through that and connect to the same Wi-Fi as the ps3 That did it for me
im having an issue where i go t type my ip in the internet explorer on the ps3 and with the :80 at the end and when i click search it pulls up random websites and not the flasher
For anyone getting "this page cannot be displayed" error at 10:16, I solved it by doing the following: 1. I am using my laptop which is connected to the exact same wifi that my PS3 is connected to. (Previously I was using my desktop which is connected via ethernet and does not have wifi) 2. I disabled windows public and private firewall. You can enable this again after you finish the jailbreak, but it seems it has to be disabled for this to work.
@@Friendlyman487 Late reply sorry. Are you the admin account of your laptop? I suppose it doesn't have to be a laptop. But your PC and PS3 need to be on the EXACT same network (no extensions, etc). But I'm pretty sure you need to be admin to change these settings.

Thank you smmmm!!!! I ran into a few troubles which were when I tried getting my usb drive in fat32 it didn’t suggest a “g” I only had “c” and “d”, I chose d and it didn’t cause any problems! Second problem was that there wasn’t an update from the usb so I fixed it by updating it from safe mode. It worked! And didn’t need to do update it the other few times in safe mode anymore! All solved and worked!!! Thank you so much man🙏
It's the best when an actual adult makes these jailbreak how-to videos. Tried watching a video last night of some teenager trying to explain how to organize the PSP folders...totally left out the step about how there needs to be a text file in the root folder, but I figured it out.
Didn’t have to wait if you used the unofficial bgtoolset websites. I’ve used them multiple times with multiple PS3s as a test. It acts exactly the same

One thing to note is that if the playstation says that therebis no data found ( applicable data) then put the PlayStation into recovery mode and update it from there, and when you go to update it the second time then go to software update on settings and the update file should appear there

READ THIS IF YOU ARE GETTING THE DATA IS CORRUPTED ERROR: At least in my case, it was the USB stick I was using. If you are getting the same error, you should try out different USB sticks you have available, and see if it works for you. I used a SanDisk UltraDrive 64GB. The first one I used that didn’t work was a no name one with a microSD slot as the storage, so really it was just a adapter for the microSD to become a USB stick. Hope it helpe somebody struggling with the same problem.
Unplugging your USB and plugging it back in like that has a slim chance of permanently corrupting the drive. Thats why there is a safe removal option. Please dont suggest people do this step. Not trying to be rude, just happen to work in IT. I see this a lot.

You cannot download this. I fault the creator for not mentioning it doesn’t work for certain numbers. Such as mine PS3 Slim 3000 series is incompatible with CFW so I’d have to look at a tutorial to install HEN

I get "the page cannot be displayed" when attempting to access flash writer exploit on ps3 web browser. The only thing I can think of that could be causing a hangup is that I'm not connected to my laptops IP even though I inputted everything correctly. I'm stumped as to how to solve this.
I turned off all security settings on my laptop and was able to proceed. I also used the search function rather than file address. A simple, but obscure, fix.

@@0oljbs296 If you're talking about the part where you enter your IP address, check your wifi settings and make sure it is on private. The PS3 and your computer will communicate with each other. I have used Mr Mario's video for reference as well. He goes a little more in detail.

I followed the tutorial to the letter but when I try to install the HFW 490 update on the console, I selected "Update via Storage Media" and it said "No applicable update data found." The console is picking up the fat32 usb stick . Does anybody have ant idea what I may have done wrong?
Had the same problem on my CECHG04. Solution: like it says in the video, install the update in safe mode. Installed it in safe mode twice, then just followed the video to the end and everything worked out fine.
When dragging and dropping the file on the PyPS3Checker, it says ERROR: unable to determine if NAND or EMMC data ! Too much curruptions. What did I do wrong ? (Btw, corruptions is spelled "curruptions" in the error prompt)

Cool! Just be sure that your PS3 model is in the CFW range. All Fat and all Slim except for the 3000 mdels will work fine.

Does this mod let you play Dreamcast, N64, Saturn games at a locked 60 fps? Is there an option for super sampling Dreamcast and N64 games to look sharp? PS3 should be powerful enough to handle Dreamcast/Saturn emulation
I doubt it. I don't think it'd affect the outcome of emulation much, especially for challenging systems.

I get "the page cannot be displayed" when attempting to access flash writer exploit on ps3 web browser. The only thing I can think of that could be causing a hangup is that I'm not connected to my laptops IP even though I inputted everything correctly. I'm stumped as to how to solve this.
I turned off all security settings on my laptop and was able to proceed. I also used the search function rather than file address. A simple, but obscure, fix.

@@0oljbs296 If you're talking about the part where you enter your IP address, check your wifi settings and make sure it is on private. The PS3 and your computer will communicate with each other. I have used Mr Mario's video for reference as well. He goes a little more in detail.

not sure why but when i followed the steps when i got to the part when I put the flash drive in the ps3 the system did detect the flash drive but did not detect the ps3 folder in the flash drive allowing for the update, if anyone could help me let me know.
i had this same issue. another comment said to use safe mode to install the hfw update the first time. let me know if it works for you too

dude.. plug in ur usb then go into rest mode from there select system update and follow the onscreen insteruction.that fixed it for me

I followed the tutorial to the letter but when I try to install the HFW 490 update on the console, I selected "Update via Storage Media" and it said "No applicable update data found." The console is picking up the fat32 usb stick . Does anybody have ant idea what I may have done wrong?

Had the same problem on my CECHG04. Solution: like it says in the video, install the update in safe mode. Installed it in safe mode twice, then just followed the video to the end and everything worked out fine.

@@retrodad1973 you have to use the opposite, not sure what it was, but you need to do the opposite option of what you're supposed to do for the gaining of the PS3UPDAT file
